Rating: Summary: Harry Potter has won my Heart! Review: This book was fit for people of all ages. When my little brother received it from his third grade teacher I thought for sure that it was a children's book but after reading I know that its not. This book is about Harry Potter who is an eleven-year-old boy who lives at 4 Privet drive. All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and Cousin Dudley, a great big swollen spoiled bully. As a tiny baby, Harry was left on the doorstep of his aunt and uncle's house because a horrible monster killed his parents. His room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn't had a birthday party in eleven years. When he turns eleven he found out that he is a wizard. But everything changes for Harry when an owl delivers a mysterious letter inviting him to attend a school for wizards. He now attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He finds out that he is famous in the world of wizards. At this special school, Harry finds friends, sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, as well as a great destiny that's been waiting for him. But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger. A letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry, will find unforgettable. However, evil is lurking at the very heart of Hogwarts, and Harry and his friends must finally face the malevolent and powerful Voldemort, who is intent on taking over the world. Harry himself is the perfect confused and unassuming hero, whom trouble follows. I think the main theme of this book is based on fun, fantasy, and imagination, the adventure of an unfortunate boy who has lived the first ten years of his life unaccepted by his own relatives. This book delivers the message to enjoy the simple things in life and make the best of them. This story follows the saying of good verses evil. Overall I would rate this book a five. I think it was very well written. I can't wait to read the books that follow this one.
Rating: Summary: This book is great for all ages, and I mean GREAT! Review: This book was fun and exciting. Although it was very unrealistic, but there's no such thing as too much imagination. I liked the fact that Harry Potter never knew that he was a wizard, one of the greatest wizards of all time, I might add. I've ordered the next book, and it's on its way now. I can't wait for the September book too.
Rating: Summary: The best book I've read in years. Review: This book was given to me by a friend, I was hesitant to read it since it was a childrens book. After the first chapter I was hooked. I finished the book in 2 days, it was amazing. This a great read for adults as well as children. I can't wait to start on the second.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good Review: This book was good. It wasn't as good as the others though. Probably because i read this one second. It's sad how Harry has to grow up thinking he is normal, with an aunt and uncle that doesn't like him. His cousin treats him worst of all. After all the years he lived with them he finally found out that his parent where murdered and not killed in a car crash. That is just the begining of his extrodanary life as a wizard. In this story he will make some friends and make some ememies, and best of all become a hero to most who come in contact with him. i'm not going to mess up the story for you so maybe you should just read it on your own it a page turn every second.
Rating: Summary: awesome Review: This book was great because it gave kids a good perspective of magic. I think it went a little over board though on how much magic it used. But I mean if you are really into this stuff this book is for you
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This book was great because it had a lot of action, and I could relate to the characters. The plot was very creative. Many people think that this book is bad because it deals with magic. Well, in the cover it says FANTASY/FICTION! Kids know that this is a fantasy book. ... If you have not read this series, you should.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic fun to read Review: This book was great fun to read, and is one of those rarities that can appeal to young and old. I have read the entire series to date and have enjoyed each one. I hope that Ms. Rowling will continue the series and give us more Harry Potter to enjoy long after he has left Hogwart's School. I recently saw a news item on TV regarding a town in New Mexico where some of the citizens were protesting and burning Harry Potter books because they felt promoted the devil. I feel so sorry that these people aren't able to separate fantasy from reality. And if they were able to understand that concept, can't they see that Harry Potter tales embody the classic story of the triumph of good over evil? This series of books is a must for anyone that wants to experience a simple, wonderful, fantasy world with unforgetable characters and imaginative stories.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable For Everyone Review: This book was great! I would recommend this book to everyone I know. My favorite part of this book was when Harry Potter, Hermione and Ron went in to the corridor with the three headed dog. It was funny because they were scared stiff. All they wanted to do was get out of there. I also enjoyed the part when the Dursleys dropped him off at the train station so he could go on the train that was on track nine and three quarters. This would be a great present for all ages. Many people would have a hard time reading it but if you like fantasy-adventure you would love this book. Thank You Ms. Miolla and Ms. Levine for picking out such a good book.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Wonderful Review: This book was great! It is extremely entertaining and I would recommend it to anyone.
