Summary: Everyone Should Read This Book
Review: This book is ideal for those wishing to subtly manipulate the subconscious of most unsuspecting children and apparently many equally unsuspecting adults. The extraordinary popularity of the book will allow it to slip by even the most observant parent. The series should intrigue and captivate young readers - as it has - and entice them into a more serious exploration of the mysterious through many other detailed, though less popular, publications. Once this happens, the young reader will be receptive to investigating "other-world" phenomena firsthand. The book glorifies witches and witchcraft and portrays "normal" humans as mean-spirited while letting children know that, if they are unhappy in their current family situation, there are groups that would be happy to bring them into their care.

This Harry Potter book is perhaps the best of its genre ever released. Even though the book is a bestseller, it is heavily discounted (up to 50% off) insuring widespread distribution among all socio-economic classes. Witches, Wicans, Warlocks et al owe a debt of gratitude to the author. One day we will all look back at how this book vaulted to the Number One bestseller and view that event as one of the major indicators of what was to come in the 21st century.

Summary: Outstanding
Review: This book is incredibly well written. I love the use of words and the imaginative writting. All of the different names such as Dumbledore and Vol- Oops, I mean You-know-who. You really get the feeling that these things that are happening to Harry are happening before your eyes. You see a clear and crisp picture the instant you open the book, not words.

Summary: Interesting, but not enthralling.
Review: This book is interesting, but it is nowhere near deserving of a five star rating. The basic plot kept me reading the book, but there are certain aspects of the book were not developed nearly enough. For instance, it's vital to any good book to capture the reader by creating a sense of verisimilitude, of "being there" right along with the characters. This book failed to do this because it lacked enough discription of the surroundings in the book to allow the reader to become immersed in the book. Without this feeling of actually being "in" the story, I felt rather detached from the occurances in the book and was therefore only reading, not experiencing the story along with the characters.
I know, I know, many people will say that reading is what should be taking place when someone reads a book (DUH!), but a truly excellent book can take this simple process a step further and actually *pull* the reader into the story. Sadly enough, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone failed to do so. This book had much potential, but the actual product was merely satisfactory.

I sincerely hope that Ms. J.K. Rowlings will be able to improve on this in her future books and close that gap between average and excellent.

Summary: WOW!!!(...)
Review: This book is just as good as all the other ones. It is so action packed as the other 3. I cannot belive how good of an author J.K Rowling is. I could never put this book down. If you like wizards, witches and all the Halloween type characters you most likly like the book and all her other books.Any one of any age would like the book. But just don't take my word for it ask your friends. You can just picture all that is happening in your mind that takes place in the book.
