Summary: Harry Potter For All Ages
Review: These books are absolutley amazing. I'm fifteen and at first wasn't to keen on reading Harry Potter, since I thought it to be a children's book, but my friends kept convincing me to read it and I did. I haven't seen such awesome writing for children since Mr. Roald Dhal (and might I mention his books are wonderful too). I love these books and when I finish one it's a big dissapointment, not because teh book was bad but because your sad it's over. I know of many adults who enjoy the Potter series, heck my English Teacher reads them while we are working in class.

Summary: Even Old Fogeys
Review: These books are not only for children. I am in my 50's and the mother of 5 kids. We all need a great escape once and a while and these books are marvelous! You will not be able to put them down! What a great kid Harry Potter is.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Over-hyped but still good for the kids.
Review: These days, parents should do ANYTHING to get their children hooked on reading. This series is not the best in the world but the hype surrounding it could convince your children to read it. It's a simple, easy read that kids will love.

From an older perspective, the series can seem simplistic, but this is for children. Even YA might be too high a rating for it. The zany characters and simple evil versus good conflict are perfect for the young audience.

After kids have become convinced that reading can be fun, they'll be more likely to grow up and become intelligent people. This book and its sequels might be the boost your children need!

Summary: Sorcerer's Stone
Review: These Harry Potter books have gotten such good reviews, that I was compelled to at least read the first. I was so captivated with this book, I could not put it down, then I read the second, then the third. I am on the forth book now, and still can't put it down. My only regret is that the fifth book in this series is not yet published. I am NOT an avid book reader. This is unusual for me to go home from work and read, IT IS SO GOOD. Any age person would love it. I can see why it got the great reviews. If you are looking for excellent reading material, this is it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is not the best book ever
Review: They have said over and over again that this is the best book ever. It is not. Read the second book and the third. They are better. But, all three are five-star books. I hear there are a bunch more to come out. Tey'll sell like hotcakes and cost us. Unless you wisely buy them from Amazon.com or have enough patience to wait for the paperback. Read them before the prequel and sequel movies ruin the images with incredible film graphics.

Summary: So - I'm 47 - I loved it!
Review: They said this book was for children, but the hoop-la was so fantastic I just couldn't resist. Since I have no children to read it to and all my friends got to read it with their children, I have to say I felt left out. Who was this Harry Potter? Everyone I know was talking about young Master Harry, and there I sat - uneducated - overaged. So, throwing caution to the wind, I read my first book this weekend and I'm buying the second book today. Who said children had to be aged 9 - 13? This is some of the best reading I've done in years. The writing slides across your mind forging images that no movie director will be able to recreate. This Harry Potter series is sheer genius. I love it!

Summary: Harry Poter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Review: Thi is on e of the best books I have read in a LONG time. When reading this book I was on the edge of my seatthe whole way! A must read book.

Summary: Harry has certainly earned his popularity.
Review: Things that hit with a bang generally tend to have a wide base of appeal--say, scooters and Pokémon, for example (of course, I'm kidding). When it comes to these things, the people not marketed to can either be cynical, or they can adopt a passive, albeit respectful stance to view things from--given, of course, that the item in question isn't a two-wheeled death machine that entrances everyone ranging from age one to sixty-seven.

But Harry Potter is different, in the sense that it's not a product that's targeted to only a certain demographic; it's proof of the powerful allure of innocence, and is so whimsical and harmless at its core that it's difficult to imagine a world where such a product could not be so delectable to both children and adults. The reasons for the attachment to Rowling's series are entirely different for each age group, though: adults are charmed by the cute, satiric little details, whereas children are more provoked by the adventurous, mischievous flame that sparks in the three protagonists. Make no mistake, though--every detail of this novel is going to find a way to burrow deep into your inner child, and though two or three particulars may cling more strongly to you than the others, there's hardly anything here that will entice you to shut the covers for any activity save sleeping (unless you have no obligations and can afford to sleep two hours a day--in which case, I envy you).

The icing on the top: though this is a children's book, Rowling plays around with enough elevated vernacular to not make anyone over the age of twelve ashamed to be reading this book. The spoiled berry: anyone over the age of twelve who has adopted a contemptuous attitude on life, and therefore lost their imagination, will have a hard time coming to grips with Rowling's evasive tactics for describing her settings. Sure, I love to see "he said crossly," but when you see things such as "large oak doors" and "the room had four large tables" used to describe key scenes, it's a little disappointing to see so little care given to one of the more important elements of the story. But I guess that since this is a children's book, and therefore commands use of one's imagination, I really can't be too harsh on this particular aspect (word of advice, however: don't read this after finishing a Nabokov novel).

One way or the other, the characterization is spot-on, the basic story a step up from the drab, meandering tripe that is most school-life literature, and the promise for future success is big, big, big. The only salient problem with "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" is that the rest of the series just keeps getting better and better; in retrospect, the first chapter of Harry's adventures just doesn't begin to compare.

Summary: LOVED IT!
Review: Thinking it would be a children's book, I thought it would be fun to give a light reading, little did I know it would awaken the magic inside of me. I felt more alive after I read this. I found new found passion that I lacked to feel in today's world. IT got my imagination going and I could not wait to read the next book. This is a great series as well as a great book.
I would recommend everyone reading this, especially those that are sort of bored in their daily grind. (I am over 25 years of age and still loved it) THis book is NOT JUST for kids.
