Summary: A Bewitching Tale
Review: The Hype is true. Harry Potter is a story worth reading. Before I started to read this book, I was very unsure and skeptical about the Harry Potter phenomenon. It seemed like a book that only a young child could like and that it was below my reading level. Once I started reading it, however, I discovered how wrong I had been. This book is not just for a young child who has a large imagination. This book can and should be read by people of all ages because everyone would enjoy this book regardless of age. The plot of this book follows a normal hero's journey, which is not so complicated that a child couldn't understand and enjoy it. It also isn't so simple that an adult would think the book was too childish. It finds a happy median so that everyone can enjoy it. Rowling does an excellent job of characterization and by the end of the book, you feel like you really know the characters and how they will react to certain problems that arise. Hagrid (one of Harry's friends that he meets) comes across as an intimidating man that is very strong and dangerous. Rowling, through her excellent use of description and words, makes Hagrid act and sound like a very timid, passive person who wouldn't hurt anyone. This book stirs the creative mind in all of us. It allows the reader to live through the eyes of an eleven-year-old wizard who has an important destiny to fill. I feel that this book is worth reading, and I also look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Summary: Wonderful! Magical! YOU HAVE TO READ IT!!!
Review: The last thing this book needs is a 1039th review saying (justafiably!) how wonderful it is. Still, I had to add my comments. As a 19 yr old college student, children's books aren't usually my thing, but I was intrigued by its presence on the NYT Bestseller list. I'm sorry that I waited so long! This is probably one of the best children's books I've ever read, and I only wish it had been around 10 years ago when I ran out of Roald Dahl books! I am holding back from getting the next two because I want to spread them out until the fourth is published, but believe me, it's difficult.

I passed the book on to my roomate afterwards, and she loved it as much as I did. READ THIS BOOK!

Summary: the magic of this book . . .
Review: The magic of this book is truly incredible. Sure, you're thinking it's not real its a fantasy . . . but that's where you're wrong! In my grade 8 class, we are reading this book Harry Potter. No one wanted to start reading it, because they never had read 'leisurely' before. They were supposedly too 'cool' to read this book. But after they got started, the 'cool' boys were actually caught with their noses dug in the book, during their free time, during class, at home, and any other time they had to steal a quick peak of this magical book. It has literally changed the attitudes in our class, and now the only problem is, how are we going to get them to stop reading through out math class ... and history ... and science . . . and every other subject. So when you think this book is only fiction, you are so wrong, it is real and I'm living it! I have living proof in my grade 8 class, and I'm sure if you ask those 'cool' boys they'll agree how magical this book really is!

Summary: Green Light
Review: The magical world of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone it takes readers on an adventure through the imagination of J.K, Rawlings into a place everyone has heard or thought about. I really enjoyed this book because of the cluster of details that allowed you to picture what was going on and play it out in you mind. It is fairly easy to read and does not take much time. People who like adventure and fantasy would enjoy reading the first book of the series. I would recommend this book for any age group.

The story starts off with Harry arriving at his aunt and uncles house as an infant. Harry lives with them until he is of age to attend Hogwart's. The years he lives with his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon and his Cousin Dudley are not all great. He sleeps in the closet under the stairs and gets hand me down clothes from his fat cousin. The day of his eleventh birthday, a messenger, named Hagrid from the school rescues him from his so called family. Hagrid takes him to get ready to start his new school that he will love, only there does he really feel at home. At Hogwarts he learns about what happened to his real parents and makes friends and enemies. During the school year, he learns something disturbing. The man who had killed his parents was back and looking for the sorcerer's stone because of its magical powers. Harry's job is to stop him from succeeding his hunt. This book will leave readers guessing about who is helping this evil man, and the unexpected ending will take them by surprise.

Summary: Magical Adventures of a Child
Review: The main character is Harry Potter. He lives with his cousin Dudley. Dudley is a chubby boy who is spoiled rotten. All of the sudden these letters start coming. They are for Harry. These letters are from Hogwarts, a school of magic. The family doesn’t like this idea. Harry thinks this is his chance to leave the family. Harry is on the train to Hogwarts. Will Harry like his new adventure? This book is about a boy and his adventure of magic. I recommend this book to readers of all ages.

Summary: The School for Witches and Wizards
Review: The main character is Harry. His mother and father died, and he is left with his aunt and uncle. They are really mean to him. He gets many letters that say the same thing, and the family moves many times to get away from the letters. When he is at the cabin on his birthday a big giant comes and tells Harry that he is a wizard. The giant said his name was Hagred. When he is at Hogwarts he is always with Ron and Herimonie. They are Harry's best friends. At Hogworts a few days latter, (the school for wizards and witches) is at his first flying lesson. When his teacher is gone he goes up in the air on his broom. His teacher comes back outside. Will he be expelled from Hogworts School? I like the book, because the book has a lot of adventure in it. I think all adults and kids that like adventure should read this book. Harry Potter and the Sorcere's Stone is a good adventure book.

Summary: a Grand Adventure for Kids
Review: The main I read this book was to learn if the content was appropriate for my daughters. They are a little young just now, so they aren't interested in reading it - yet.
I also wanted to see if the lost art of older children's writing was somehow revived. I am happy to say it has. The mystery and adventure harkens back to the Hardy Boys series of my youth. Yet Harry has yet another quality. He experiences the emotions of a ten-year old. The Hardy Boys were like little adults, and not very well-developed as characters. Harry seems like a real kid. No need for me to go into the plot. Everyone seems to know it by now, but I enjoyed it very much. And finally, it doesn't encourage devil or satan worship. Not in the slightest. It is a highly appropriate book for kids of all ages.

Summary: This is an incredibly entertaining book.
Review: The majority of the personal reviews I've read so far on this book have been in favor of Harry Potter, yet, some have dissented.

People say that this book glorifies witches and wizards, it teaches people to stray away from the living God. To those people I say, "It's only a book!".

If this book ends up being a bad influence on the children, it's because of the parents being negligent in making sure the kids know what's right and what's wrong. If the children realize it's only a book then the parents have done something right.

Anyway, I love this book and plan to read the next two and the her next one coming out in the spring. At least that's when I heard it was coming out.

Summary: Into My Dreams...
Review: The minute I started reading this book, I was in love with the characters. A fresh approach to telling a children's tale, in which adults can also revel. The world of wizards, witchcraft, Hogwarts, and other baffling characters! This is one good treat! From Privet Drive to Hogwarts to the Forbidden Forest, Ms. Rowling is the queen of Fantasy Fiction. This is one series, which has gripped both kids and adults - rarely does one come across such books. I fell in love with the theme of the book: Imagine taking wizards and witchcraft classes! Imagine being face-to-face (well almost) with the villain of your nightmares! Imagine all the fun! I wish I was in a HP book!
