Summary: Harry Potter Will Cast a spell on anyone!
Review: The Harry Potter series is one of the best books I have ever read. Adventure packed, exciting, I love it. Anyone who loves a good story will fall in love with J.K. Rowling's amazing tales. I completely reccomend this book.

Summary: The BEST & I mean THE BEST book I've read so far!
Review: The Harry Potter series is simply marvellous! I got these boks from my cousins who live in U.K Before I'd got them, I'd never even 'heard' about Harry Potter. I'm VERY GLAD to my cousins for introducing me to these fabulous series. J.K Rowling is THE BEST author! I can't wait for the rest of the books in these series to come out. I've already got the 1st 3 books.

Summary: Surprisingly excellent reading
Review: The Harry Potter series is supposed to be for children. However, a lot of adults, myself included, have read the series and are absolutely delighted so far. The last time I've read such page-turners in the genre of fantasy was back 20 years ago when I read The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings trilogy. Since then, I considered TH/TLOTR to be the best crafted tale in its category. Well, no longer!

I'm a slow reader, but I couldn't put the first 3 Harry Potter books down and I read them all in 2 nights, over a weekend. The fourth book took an entire week, simply because my week has other responsibilities to be attended to.

Speaking of book 4 (Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire), I feel I have to say it would have been considerably better had it been shorter. A few chapters towards the beginning are just too slow, almost boring, and add little to the advancement of the story. Book 3 (Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban) suffers a little bit from the same problem, but nowhere as much as does book 4. Nonetheless, the last 2/3 of book 4 are just insanely intense!

Except for those extra chapters, all 4 books are packed-full of action intermingled with lots of important information for the development of the story. Pay attention to every character, because you WILL meet them all again later.

I look forward to the remaining 3 books of the series, but hope that the author isn't getting paid by the number of words she's writing and will, instead, stick to the racing style of the first 2 books.

Note: I'm writing this same review for all 4 books currently out. My ratings for them are simply 5 stars for each. Read them and you'll understand why over 3500 people so far have written similar reviews here.

Summary: delightful
Review: the harry potter series really is what everyone has made it out to be. my sister got in to the fad when it first got big and bought all the books in hardback (they didn't have the paperback then) and read them all. she never reads so i was pretty surprised, but i figured it was just a kiddy fantasy book. but this summer, with the movie coming out and all the harry potter mania, i figured i'd give it a try, why not? and i must say i was amazed. j.k. rowling really is an amazing author. she pulls you in and you just get wrapped up in harry's world. it's just such a colorful book. i mean, it's made up of all these stories of magic we grew up listening to with witches and wizards and flying on broomsticks and potions and spells and magic wands, the whole shabang. you really just can't help but to be drawn into the book.

the premise involves a boy, harry, who lives with his mean aunt and uncle and one day finds out that his parents were a witch and wizard and is taken to the amazing world of hogwarts and learns about a whole other reality and teams up with his two best friends ron and hermione. he also must fight the evil voldermort, which is a standard theme throughout each book in the series. but he also plays for the quidditch team, finds a mean potions teacher, snape, and meets all sorts of interesting characters.

a piece of advice, if you haven't already seen the movie and do want to read the book, read the book first. of course, its so much better than the movie. otherwise you'll spend much of your time reading it, comparing it to the movie. let the book work its magic on you first. i highly recommend to anyone, no matter what types of books you like to read or how old you are. i know a seven year old who has read the whole series along with some of my friend's parents. it is a book to be enjoyed by the masses which is part of the reason it has been so successful.

Summary: This is the best series I've ever read......
Review: The Harry Potter trilogy is an amazing collection of literature. I found how exciting the story was, and how I could identify with the characters. J.K rowling is an inspiration, and I have begun writing my own collection of fictional stories. Bravo Rowling.

Summary: A Fantastic Adventure Story for Anybody with an Imagination
Review: The hero of our story, Harry Potter has been almost a vagabond in society for the first eleven years of his life. His parents were killed while he was a baby and he grew up with his unpleasant Aunt and Uncle, the Dursleys. He lived in a spider-ridden closet under the stairs. He was constantly ostracized in school and prodded by the Dursley's spoiled son, Dudley. Little did he know that he was already famous as "the boy who lived" in a sort of parallel universe for witches and wizards, a world which he was to be let into by an invitation to Hogwarts, school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. All of a sudden, he was master of the game Quidditch and fighting a secret battle against evil forces. He now took part in fantastic adventures and was making interesting friends, all the while fighting the typical problems afflicting the typical teenager. The Sorcerer's Stone is a fun and fantastic adventure story. It's colorful and easy to read, a truly great story for anybody with an imagination.

Summary: Magic and fantasy have never been better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: The highest reading level of this book was 12. Well, guess what. I'm 15 and I've already read it about three times all the way through. The first night I got it I stayed up all night long finishing it. I just couldn't put the book down!!!!! This was an amazing debut book for Ms. Rowlings. Her plot was fasanating, her descriptions were great, and her characters were the funniest. I REALLY liked all their names, like Dumbledore and Hagrid. And the Weasley twins were hilarious. Oh, yeah, and I would love to be on Hogwort's ball team. Flying through the air on a broom like that sounds like alot of fun, as long as you don't fall off. I definately can't wait to the sequel!!!!!!

Summary: Good book. But Stephen Fry's reading is 1000x better!
Review: The HP books are a great deal of fun, and it's hard to imagine anything else I could say about them that hasn't been said ten thousand times already.

I do however want to say something about the *Audiobooks.* For reasons beyond my ken, Amazon.com does not let you know that there is an infinitely better version than this available, read by the delightful Stephen Fry. According to J.K. Rowling, her daughter listens to the (Fry) audiobooks constantly. Stephen Fry's gorgeous voice is a pleasure any time, but these books give him grand scope for mimicry and vocal characterization.

Choosing to record a new version of these books for an American audience when Stephen Fry has already so brilliantly done them is perverse in its idiocy. Don't bother with this version; go over to Amazon.co.uk and buy the real thing!
