Summary: Harry Potter, a fantastic series!
Review: The Harry Potter series are the four best books I have ever read. I own all four and can't wait till the fifth comes out. The movie will be spectacular too. If you have not read these books you should really take the time to do it. You won't be sorry. J.K. Rowling takes you on an amazing journey through magic and mystery. These are the best books since the Nancy Drew series and are amazing. If you pass these books up you will regret it!

Review: The Harry Potter series had me up all day and night. I couldn't put it down. I, personally felt attached to the characters. The author is superb in keeping you guessing and wanting for more when the book is over.
I highly recommend these books not only to childrens but to adults as well!

Summary: For Young People and Adults Who Like Adventure
Review: The Harry Potter series has established tremendous popularity with young people. What about adults? I, for one, couldn't put it down. I like adventure. If I had magical powers, I definitely would use them solely to benefit my fellow humans and other living beings. When the bad guys use their magic for evil purposes, it's a thrill to see them exposed and thwarted. Nevertheless, in no sense is Harry Potter in a league with The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. The characters are all one-dimensional, although Harry's perception of them sometimes changes. While some of the suspense involves catching evil-doers, some of it simply has to do with breaking school rules and maybe getting caught. Harry gets out of tight places by magic (no surprise), but in the sense that he's saved by something unexpected, like a power he didn't know he had. This kind of escape isn't always satisfying. Whenever you can share an adventure with the young folks in your family, it's good. Accept Harry Potter for what he is, an adventuresome kid.

Summary: Lovely
Review: The Harry Potter series have been the biggest literary phenomenon in a very long time, if not ever. What makes these "childrens" books so popular? The really cool plot? Is it the neat covers? The kind and sympathetic protagonist or school which he attends? Everyone has asked this question to themselves...until of course, they read them. This book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" (Philosophers in Britain) is the book that started it all. I remember distinctly strolling through a bookstore, and seeing a surprisingly colorful book on the New York Times Bestseller list shelf. I picked it up (realizing that it was a childrens book) and read the front cover. I decided that it looked interesting enough and I (was indeed) judging a book by its cover. That night, I turned off the television and sat on my couch wondering what I should do for the next hour. I looked at the mess of books laying in front of me and decided to pick up the one with the lovely cover called "Harry Potter". I read the first page slowly and then faster, loving every word. It was so carefully written, I could almost feel the energy that Rowling had put into it coming out through each word. As I completed the first chapter, I knew that putting this book down was not an option. The beautiful scenery described was so perfect, that I still wonder is it possible that everyone sees the same thing? Yes. With a few variations, Rowling so masterfully describes the castle, the grounds and Platform 9 3/4 that even those of us with the wildest imagination can't change what it looks like. They feel like real places. The three dimensional characters were overwhelming. Every character has a name, and an obvious past that will slowly be told. Whether it is filled with dark secrets, and mysterious happenings, or just an ordinary life of an average brittish seemingly-muggle child. Each person has emotions, which the reader has to pick up just as they would in real life. You know what Harry feels, but no one else. The situation is described, and it is left to your imagination to say what vibes the person is putting out, or what is going on behind their words. By the time I finished this amazing book, I did not want to say good bye to my friends. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Hagrid...all of those people who had made Harry Potter book 1 so real to me. So I waited until the second book came out, and read that as well. But Harry Potter and the Sorcerers (philosophers) Stone will always have a special place in my heart. The wonderful thing about these books is that they become a part of you. Once you read the first one it stays with you forever, and something will always draw your fingers across the cover just to feel lthe lovely pattern. Ms. Rowling must have attended Hogwarts, her pen is her wand, and her paper is the hat which she pulls this magical world out of.

Summary: An excellent debut novel from J.K. Rowling.
Review: The Harry Potter series is a breath of fresh air to the world of children's literature. Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone is a dazzaling novel worth reading again and again. I have yet to meet a ten year old who is not intrigued by this famous wizard and his wonderful adventures.

Summary: THE HARRY POTTER SERIES WILL BE A CLASSIC FOREVER.
Review: THE HARRY POTTER SERIES IS A PERFECT BLEND OF BRITISH HUMOR, FUN, AND MAGIC. SOME BOOKS ABOUT MAGIC (WHICH, BELIVE ME, I HAVE READ A LOT OF) ARE TOO SERIOUS AND DON'T LET THE CHARACTERS HAVE FUN. KIDS CAN'T REALLY RELATE TO THESE TYPE OF CHARACTERS. THE MAIN CHARACTER HARRY IS LIKE AN ORDINARY KID EXCEPT HE CAN DO MAGIC. HE GETS HIMSELF INTO JAMS LIKE ANY OTHER 12 YEAR OLD WOULD. IT WAS SUCH A GOOD BOOK THAT I HAVE READ IT AT LEAST 4 TIMES, AND, COME TO THINK OF IT, I THINK I WILL READ IT AGAIN.

Summary: Fun
Review: The Harry Potter series is entertaining for the target age group and a nice diversion for the adult crowd. There is nothing overly difficult about reading these books and they are a quick one day read for most adults. There are some interesting child-sized philosophical questions for children (i.e. in the second book Rowling exposes the superficial as nothing more than a moron with a nice smile in Gilderoy Lockhart.) These books send a clear message that money, good looks and a fast broomstick are not the end all--that there is more to life than just the material.

The only problem I have with Rowling's writing style is that she is not very tidy. Rowling leaves loose ends untied like how Harry got his invisible cloak back in the first book or how Harry got his wand back at the end of the second.

Otherwise, Rowling is a natural with a knack for detail and wit. There is a great deal of tongue in cheek humor that had me, along with other adult readers I know, rolling. The books appeal to both children and adults with humor a child would not be able to understand, but presented in such a way that a child would never know they had missed something. This is a very sophisticated way to appeal to a larger audience and something Rowling should be applauded for.

These books are great for reading outloud to children.

Summary: Unbelievably Great!
Review: The Harry Potter series is great. I suggest that everyone reads this book for many reasons. There are so many different moods that are created within the story- humor, scary, happy, shocking, the list goes on and on. They are unlike any other books. Most people think that these books are for little kids and are an easy read. That's not even 1/8 true. The great thing about the books is that JK Rowling writes simply, without too much big vocabulary that a 7th grader shouldn't know- or an advanced 5th grader. But thats where everyone thinks that the books are for kids- but they are NOT! Her writing is simple, but her plots are not. They twist, weave, tangle- and are great. At the moment you think Harry is safe he opens a screaming book and attracts attention to himself. The moment you think Malfoy is about to get cursed, Hermione makes it to him first and smacks him across the face. The moment you fear Harry isn't going to make it, a wonderful something happens, and everything turns out alright.
