Summary: I great intro to a new classic series
Review: Take the time to get over your hang-ups about reading A) a kids book or B) a fantasy. This story surpasses all expectations and delivers some truly unique and engaging reading.

It took me all of 6 months to actually purchase the book- and all of two days to devour it with guilty pleasure. A testament to this fact- I read it unabashedly on the NY Subway system AND over the course of two days I was approached several times about the book and my thoughts on the story.

I highly recommend Harry Potter (1) and look forward to reading on...

Summary: Potter lives up to Hot reviews
Review: Thank you, Amazon.com for sending my family Harry Potter. For the very first time in his life, my 12 year old couldn't put down a book.It wasn't wrestling that kept him up late last night, but little Harry Potter. He fell asleep reading in the wee hours, and only his light still on alerted me to this new miracle. This morning his first question was "Do I have time to read about Harry before leaving for school?" What a book!

Summary: Yo! Read this review! DO NOT SKIP! I REPEAT,DO NOT SKIP!!!!
Review: Thank you. Most of the time people skip over the 5 star reviews. Ok,ok,ok, I admit I have done that a lot. Trust me this book will grab you just like(i hope)this review title grabbed you. Don't worry, unlike some of my fellow reviewers, I will NOT tell you everything that happened in the book. I HATE that. Anyways, this book is a very wonderful start to the series. My gosh people, I was 9 when I read this, and I thought I was going to hate it. I'm so not into things the main populous love( ok, so i was a LITTLE mature for my age. So what if i read Pride and Prejudice in 2nd Grade?)I had to read it for this College for kids thing, which I can go to since I'm supposed to be a gifted child, capable of a high IQ. So like I was saying, I thought I was going to hate it. Man, was I wrong. This book could be read by people of all ages. I'm not saying a person without an imagination could love it. Yep, they'd say it stunk up the Book Industry. Well to them I say don't waste your money. But for those of you kids, read this book and get swept up in a world where magic lives, and anything is possible. And as for you adults, you really have to read this.Inside J.K. Rowlings magical world, you can be a kid again. And just for those few moments, you could be a little kid again who still believes.(Imagine, a few moments with having to think about the morgage, or what that pizza your kids made you order will do to your hips.)

Summary: Entertaining Escapism
Review: That is what this book is. Entertaining escapism. Nothing else. Believe me, there are no thought-provoking topics discussed in here, no world-wrenching ideas or philosophies. It is an entertaining fantasy of a young boy who has a bunch of mystical, happy-go-lucky adventures with his other young friends. There is nothing especially sophisticated about the language used here, no brilliant metaphors or equally brilliant puns which you might find in roger zelazny or terry pratchett.

Because this series is what this series is,it should not have such a hype as what surrounds it. It is not something which deserves to be read five-thousand times. It also does not deserve the posters, video-games, action figures, and whatever other merchandise surrounds it.

In a relatively concise conclusion, if you're looking for an entertaining read, thenby all means, purchase this book. If you're looking for some deep writing, please, move on.

Summary: Wow.
Review: That's all I can say: Wow. This is the most incredible book that I have ever read. I am a sophmore in high school, and this is still amazing. Better than all other books, the Harry Potter series is a quick and gripping read that takes you in from the first and leaves you wanting more after the last. I am anxiously anticipating the 4th book, Harry Potter and the Doomspell Tournament!

Summary: A review?
Review: That's difficult, the best comment I have to make of this book is that it not only exciting, it has a little bit of what all of you want. I've never waited that long for books to be released, but I'm really bitting my nails thinking of book four (I read the three books of harry Potter). Well my suggestion is BUY IT NOW, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR.

Summary: Book Review of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Review: The "New York Times best Seller" is based around one boy. HARRY POTTER, who got stuck living with his aunt and uncle after his parents somehow, mysteriously, died.
Harry lived a hard life with his aunt and uncle, who had a son (Dudley) to which they spoiled rotten. Harry not only was unwanted, but also forced to live under the stairs in a cupboard.
Harry's aunt and uncle knew of his majical powers to be, and wished to hide them from him. But their plans failed, and Harry's life did a total one-hundred-eighty on him for the better, when he received a letter from a owl. The letter invited Harry Potter (who unknowingly is very, very popular amongst those with unusual powers and strange forms) to attend Hogwartz, schoolof witchcraft and wizardry.
From that point on Harry will live a rather unique life. He will experience things unimaginable. Upon which he will learn why he is so famous, how he got the lightening-bolt shaped scar on his forehead, and what really happened to his parents.
HARRY POTTER and the SORCERER'S STONE is definitely without a doubt my favorite book. it is no wonder why (in my view and in many others) it is rated a "New York Times Best Seller." As I read this book I couldn't put it down (literally). J.K. Rowling has really done an excellent job with this book. 'like Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling has wizardry inside' (the New York Times Book Review). She has shown her magical literature powers exceedingly within HARRY POTTER and the SORCERER'S STONE.
If You were unable to tell from above, yes, I would recommend this book to just about anyone with thus reading level. It not only captures its readers with the wonderful story itself, but it grasps their minds with its mystery, challenges, and adventures. The book had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of making the reader breath heavy at times. So unless you are uninterested in mysteries, adventures, and huorous stories you should love this book just as much as I have.

Summary: An Enthralling Fantasy
Review: The amazing popularity of Harry Potter has spread across the country in just months. Now almost everyone, young and old, know about Diagon Alley, the Leaky Cauldron, and Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and wizardry. By just reading the book, Harry Potter and The Sorcere's Stone , Harry's world comes alive with J.K. Rowling's brilliantly imagined and beautifully written fiction work. Orphaned in infancy, Harry Potter is raised by his odious relatives, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon. Harry's life goes from bad to awful until, with the approach of his eleventh birthday, mysterious letters begin arriving addressed to him. His aunt and uncle manage to keep these away from Harry until a giant named Hagrid delivers one in person, and much to his surprise, Harry learns that he is a wizard and has been accepted as a student at Hogwort's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. To add to the startling news; it turns out that Harry's parents were killed by an evil wizard, Voldermort. Somehow, though, Harry survived Voldermort's attempt to kill him, leaving him with a lighting-shaped scar on his forehead. This made Harry an enormous celebrity in the world of magic, because Voldermort disappeared after his attempt to kill Harry. Rowling's incredible imagination, creations like the game of Quidditch, a sort of mid-air soccer game, makes for a very enjoyable read. With the help of his new friends Hermione and Ron, Harry solves a mystery involving a sorcerer's stone that ultimately takes him to Voldemort. This engaging fantasy is filled with imaginative details, from dragons' eggs hatched on the hearth to oddly flavored jelly beans. This book refreshed me and reminded me that I am still young. It took me away from the stressful world that I live in. J. K. Rowling had me immersed from the first page. There was an endless excitement that kept me from putting the book down.
