Rating: Summary: Even adults are addicted. Review: My parents, both middle school teachers in Oklahoma, introduced me to the Harry Potter Series during a long car drive. All I have to say is wow! They brought the second book on tape and left me when there were 5 chapters left in the story to hear. The next day, I went and purchased books 1, 2 and 3. I read them completely over a weekend (much to the dismay of housework needing to be done). They are imaginative and very well thought out. The books interweave details, not just build on them as most series seem to do. A minute detail mentioned in passing in book one shows to be the main plot in book three (a rat with a toe missing....). An added bonus for anyone with a little sense of mythology can be gained by tracing patterns in the book (names [Hermonine = Hermos], creatures [trolls, unicorns, goblins]). I have since introduced this series to my work place (programmers & management) and have had half my section finish past book 3 and others vying for my copy of the books. A good child's book but I doubt they will get all the subtle hints, overtones, or some vague puns of the book ( much like details/jokes of Shrek or Toy Story 2 ). Really a great read for anyone... read it to kids! You will enjoy it as much as them.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Series Review: My rating for this book, is for the whole series, not just one. It is a good adventure, great stuff for the youth. Just to worn you, there is some cusing in there for you who would like to know. The rest of the stuff is great, the story between good and evil, stuggles to do what is right. I just can't wait to see the third movie. It comes out June 4th 2004.
Rating: Summary: INCREDIBLE Review: My reading class just started reading this book and I was expecting some lame story line with no interesting or realistic characters.I could not belive how totally wrong I was! As soon as the class got thru the first chapter I was hooked! I zoomed out to a bookstore, got myself a copy and completly devored it! I couldn't put it down and finshed it within the same day. The characters are so real you expect to meet them on the street. Everthing is described so vivdedly you feel like you could just walk into the book and you'd be there. Some of my fav parts- When Hagrid gets a new "pet", the flying lesson, the trip to the wizard bank, and the Sorting Hat singing. This is just a great book for any and everyone. (Think Christmas gifts...)I keep wishing/hoping that one day I'll find a letter addressed to me in emerald ink on yellowed parchment.......;-)
Rating: Summary: My thoughts Review: My review about the book Harry Potter is that is a very interesting book. It has a little bit of everything. For example the book had Plot,Theme,Setting, and Conflict. At the begining of the book it was really borring but in the end the book gets really good.Because it has more actions.I would recomend this book to other people. But the only thing I didn't like about it was some parts were kind of complicated. So I wouldn't recomend this book to younger kids.I kind of liked the book at the end of the chapte. If I was to give this book a ratting i would give it 3 stars.
Rating: Summary: Simply one of the best books in the history of literature! Review: My review is summed up in the title (refer to above!)
Rating: Summary: Fun, Fresh and Exciting to read to your child! Review: My seven year old daughter and I are thoroughly enjoying this book. I have read the book through because I couldn't wait to see what happens myself. It is a fun, heartwarming book that is so imaginative I smile when I think of it. We can't wait to read the sequels. What a pleasant way to put my daughter to bed each night. Thank you Ms. Rowling! Imagination and Creativity and Excitement begin to describe this great book. I'd say the age levels should be 7 on up!
Rating: Summary: Very nice book Review: My sister gave the paperback to my son a couple years ago. He really enjoyed it, and has read the next two so far. He hasn't started on the huge 4th volume yet. I recently read this one, and thought it was a very good book. Suspense, humor, adventure, magic... what more could you want? Especially if you're a kid. This collector's edition is very nice, and the Amazon price was great. The drawing by JK Rowling is pretty good. i wonder why she didn't do her own illustrations all along. from what I had read, I thought maybe it would be an actual pen and ink drawing, but it appears to be a reproduction. However, there is an autograph on the same page that certainly looks like it was actually written there with an ink pen. I've yet to find a website that clearly describes what you are getting. Anyway, it's a nice collector's item, and you can't beat the price.

Rating: Summary: For any age Review: My sister was the first to start reading the Harry Potter books. I watched the two movies before starting any of the series. My sister repeatedly tried to read the books, but I continually told her that these were children books and wouldn't be interesting enough for me. But I did eventually decide to read them and now I am ahead of my sister in the Harry Potter books. Anyone and everyone of all ages should read the Harry Potter books. They teach great morals that even people of old age could still learn to this day! Hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
Rating: Summary: My sixth grade class agrees, it is a phenomenal book!! Review: My sixth grade students have never been as enthusiastic about reading a novel, as they have with the Harry Potter series. We are anxiously awaiting the third novel. We have been consumed by Harry, Ron, and Hermione's adventures. Thank you J. K. Rowling for providing us with such a wonderful escape from our muggle world.
