Summary: It's always best to start at the beginning...
Review: Ms. Rowling has invented a world full of the most amazing characters you'll find in contemporary children's literature! The story itself is addictive, but when you add the author's amazing realism, this series is positively priceless. By the time you finish 'The Journey to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters', you feel ready to argue that you CAN walk into walls and end up in whole other places. I was reccomended this book by my junior high school English teacher, being a high school student myself. I read them aloud to my younger sister and have raved about them to my closer friends. Everyone who has come across this story has loved it. It's wonderful to find a book that can turn so many children (and adults--you can always sneak them off the shelf once your kids are asleep)on to reading. I highly reccomend Ms. Rowling's imaginative tale of believable characters and vivid descriptions.

Summary: Super reading for kids of all ages!
Review: My 11 year old and I took turns reading the books (as soon asthey came out!)-he read during the day, I read at night. They werealso great to read outloud...my 8 year old chose listening to Mom read all the Harry Potter books over ALL television shows! Now that's entertainment! A final note...it didn't even matter that we read them out of order. I had loaned Sorcerer's Stone to a friend, so I started my 8 year old off on Chamber of Secrets. No problem at all; in fact, I think he understood Sorcerer's Stone better after hearing Chamber of Secrets. We are EAGERLY awaiting the next installment of Harry!

Summary: GREAT BOOK FOR ALL AGES
Review: My 11 year old son is a tough customer of books. Both he and I, however, loved the book and cannot wait until the sequel is in print in the US. If you like Roald Dahl with a bit more adventure (but not too much) and a little wilder humor, this is the book for you.

Summary: Excellent, exciting and adventurous!
Review: My 11-year old son just completed this book, my 8 year old daughter is beginning to read it. We've laughed together, anticipated what would happen next and thoroughly enjoy Harry's adventures. This is written extremely well, it challenges my kids and expands their vocabulary...all while giving them a pleasurable read. This is a wonderful gift to any child...but I'd suggest giving it a read as an adult.

Summary: Thanks for the Magic, J.K. Rowling!
Review: My 13-year-old and I are reading the series, and I've just finished this first one. We are having the time of our lives with our new mother-daughter Harry Potter club. Many have reviewed J.K. Rowling's amazing books, so I'll just say a few words about what I love most. I love Harry, a completely wonderful skinny boy with glasses who has strength, integrity and a wholesome vitality. I love the chapter called the Mirror of Erised- it's so moving, and so very philosophical. I love it that everywhere I go now I see magical things. I was a Muggle before, but not anymore!

Summary: Just a great summer read for kids of ALL ages
Review: My 6 year-old insisted that we buy this book so that I could read "chapter" books to her. While she isn't quite proficient enough to read it herself, the book has captured her imagination (and mine!) and has her (and me!) looking forward to story time every night. Even my three year-old listens in. The book's characters come alive in our minds and Rowlings keeps things simple enough for my daughter to remember from night to night. We're all cheering for Harry Potter, and we want more!

Summary: Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone
Review: My 7 year old daughter and I (her mother) read the story together. She loved it and can not wait to read the second book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely enchanting
Review: My 7 year old daughter and I have enjoyed this book, reading a chapter each night before she goes to bed. It is absolutely delightful, and gives children the opportunity to really become immersed in the finely drawn characters and their adventures in a way that few children's books achieve. Do yourself and your children a favour - read it! Aloud preferably, and with appropriate accents for the characters.

Summary: If you liked reading Harry Potter, you'll LOVE hearing it!
Review: My 7 year old son and I both loved reading the Harry Potter books, but the unabridged audio books, read by Jim Dale are incredible. Not only does he bring each character life with a unique voice he captures the reader with his own story telling skills. I was listening to one in the car this morning. Even though we have listened to all three of them several times, I was still captivated by a Quidditch match and had to hear the end of it before going in to work. I noticed that on one box it says "Read by Jim Dale" and on another it says, "Performed by Jim Dale." If anyone cares, "Performed" is definitely the best description!

Summary: WOW! HARRY POTTER TRUIMPHS OVER EVIL AND A ROTTEN FAMILY!
Review: My 7 year-old daughter and I just finished reading HARRY POTTER. We loved it so much we were sad when we finished it. Today, Rosie O'Donnell highly recommended HARRY on her show (for kids and ADULTS--WE AGREE!!!)! EVERYONE'S TALKING ABOUT HARRY. The way Rowling describes Harry and his friends, the reader really gets drawn in and connected to them. Good vs. Evil--and a pig's tail for mean ol' Dudley too--WE LOVED IT!!(Too bad we can't get some broomsticks to fly so we can organize our own Quidditch league!)
