Summary: Harry Potter and the Sorcrerer's Stone
Review: In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone J.K. Rowling uses setting and suspense very well. Rowling sets up the book on Privette Drive. This is home to the Dursleys who are Harry's relatives. Rowling shows in great detail how the Dursleys act and how hard it is to live with them. Rowling also uses suspense to get the reader involved in the book. I didn't want to put the book down. I will admit that in the beginning though the book was rather stale. It takes too long to get to the exciting parts in the book. One of the most suspensful parts is when Harry has to face Voldemort in the end to try and save the Sorcerer's Stone, and all of the wizarding world. This was a very good book, and Rowling does a very good job using these literary devices to get the reader involved in the book.

Summary: Literary Devices used in this book.
Review: In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone you are taken through an adventure outside of our world into the imagination of all people. This piece of literature uses imagery and symbolism to show the reader what it would be like to be in many of our dreams. Harry Potter allows you to become a kid again; it allows you to have an imagination that many people miss out on.
Hogwarts school of Wizardry is a wondrous place that seems like the dream of many people in the world. When Harry receives numerous letters of hope he has a certain curiosity that all people can relate to. Harry Potter uses many instances of symbolism in it. For example the mirror that Harry finds in the mysterious and secretive parts of the school shows him his parents. This is a look into the past for Harry, but a part of his past that he never experienced. He grew up knowing nothing of what he had once had and what would soon come about in his life.
When reading Harry Potter it is like you are there. It is a fairytale that everyone wishes they could too experience. J.K. Rowling expresses many things using imagery in this book, with an amount of detail that would be close to impossible to express. For example, "Scabbers the rat was hanging off his finger, sharp little teeth sunk deep into Goyle's knuckle..." (pg.109). Even the most random unimportant texts, like the previous one, in the book express detail to paint a picture in your mind of what is going on.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is strengthened by the immaculate word choice used by J.K, Rowling. Harry Potter becomes a fantasy that no one will ever experience and can convince you to believe that anything is true and that anything in our world is possible.

Summary: Analysis
Review: In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, by J. K. Rawling, a clear plot, theme, setting, and characters are presented to the reader. The theme, good verses evil, and the plot, Harry's quest to become a wizard and the obstacles he overcomes, play an important role all throughout the novel. The main characters are described vividly, and the reader's attention is kept through amazing attention to detail, and Rawling's ability to keep the story flowing.
Throughout the novel, the well-developed theme of good verses evil arises several times. When Harry moves in with the Dursleys, his aunt and uncle, after his parents are killed by Voldermort, he is forced to live in a tiny cabinet and is not allowed to do anything fun. He is rarely fed and is constantly scolded. Eventually, however, he overcomes the Dursleys wrath by escaping with Hagrid, the gatekeeper at Hogwarts....
The plot of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a fictional one....All during this plot, however, Harry is trying to learn how to become a wizard, and he faces many other obstacles. From fighting with Malfoy, his arched nemesis and one of the main antagonists, to arguing with Professor Snape, a believed to be enemy of Harry's family, Harry's schooling is not easy. When it just so happens that he discovers of the Sorcerer's Stone, the plot gets interesting and the main conflict reaches its peak.
Most of the characters in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone are stock characters (Harry, Harry's family, Harry's friends, etc.). Stock characters are stereotyped figures who have occurred so often in fiction that their nature is immediately known. However, some characters like Hagrid and Voldermort, are more round. That is, they can be described with many traits and are not so common to us. The protagonist of the novel is Harry Potter, and the main antagonists, fighting against the protagonist, are Voldermort, Professor Quirrel, and Malfoy. However, through all of the characters, the story unfolds. Rawling carefully uses each character in each scene and as a result, the plot and the theme develop nicely.
Overall, this novel was very good. Rawling did a great job in keeping the story flowing. There is hardly a dull moment. The plot and the theme are very clear and the characters are plausible. Rawling also pays great attention to detail, which is essential to a good story. When she described the way the food looks before a meal, my mouth watered. If you want a good series of books to read, this is the one.

Summary: The Use of Literary Terms Thought J.K. Rowling¿s, Harry Pott
Review: In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, J.K. Rowling uses symbolism to show parallels between her fictional fantasyland, and the realities of today's society. The different forms of magic shows the conflicts between morality and greed. Setting demonstrates how riotousness can be ridiculed and ostracized in society. Characters exhibit the judgments that are made based on unjustified biases. Overall, Rowling utilizes symbolism to accurately merrier the dynamics of society.
First off, pure magic and black magic are symbols of virtue and avarice. Pure magic is never used to obtain authority in a way that would harm others. Black magic destroys people to acquire power, which intern is only used to obtain riches and trivial positions. Next, the "muggle" town represents judgment, verses the world of magic that represents freedom. The town is full of arbitrary people who ridicule those who practice magic. The world of magic embraces all kinds, allowing the pure and responsible to practice magic freely. Third of all, Harry Potter and his friends accuse Professor Snape of striving to obtain the sorcerers stone. They do this based on flimsy evidence, and snap judgments. This shows that Harry and his friends represent partiality, and Snape symbolizes the misdeemed. Hence symbolism is used to strengthen Rowling's themes within the novel.

Summary: A Good Book For Everyone
Review: In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the Dursleys, a conceited family with a son who is spoiled rotten, encounter some weird things with their nephew Harry. Harry groes up with the Dursleys and doesn't know anything about his parents of his magical powers. When Harry meets Hagrid, he tells him all about his past, parents, and his gift of magic. Hagrid told the story of how his parents were killed by a powerful wizard. Hagrid told Harry about the new school for wizards called Hogwarts Harry would be attending. Hagrid took Harry to buy all the things he needed for school. When Harry got on the train to his school he met Ron, Hermione, and Neville who were all going to the same school he was. When they got to the school a talking hat told them what house they would be rooming in. Harry and all the others were in the same room as him Gryffindor. Snape was the most hated teacher in the whole school thought Harry and his friends. They also thought Malfoy was the most hated student in the whole school. Later on in the book, secrets start to unfold and Harry and his friends are determined to get to the bottom of all the mysteries that appear one after another. I definitely recommend this book to everyone. This book is great and shoud be read by everyone. This 309 page book can be read very easily and doesn't take that long to complete. This book makes you want to keep reading and the suspense keeps you at the edge of your seat every minute.

Summary: Life's Struggle with Harry Potter and The Sorceres Stone
Review: In her first book of a series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, J.K Rowling creates a
wonderful fantasy world where both young and old can escape. This world is based on
magic and witchcraft that are actually taught at a school, a magical soccer game,
Quidditch, played on flying brooms, and a whole new class of people, wizards. It is hard
to say what is more interesting, Harry's adventures or Harry's world.
Being an orphan, Harry has been in the care of his abusive Aunt and Uncle

Dursley, after his parents were killed by Voldemort, a dark wizard. Voldemort also tried
to kill Harry, but the spell back fired and the dark lord barely made out with his life.
Harry's aunt and uncle, non-magical people referred to as "Muggles", are not only his
physical guardians, but they also try to "guard" him from his true calling.
Living with his Aunt and Uncle he is locked up and never allowed to participate
in family activities. Harry is dying to escape. As most eleven year olds, he is confused,
their are no more Barbies or GI JO's, but what is there? With this question in mind Harry
finds his answer. On his eleventh birthday Harry is accepted into The Hogwarts School of
Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Throughout this unimaginable experience he meets three friends, Hermonia,
Ron, and Hagrid the giant. Hermonia symbolizes Harry's conscience, she always does the
right thing, always doing good. Ron on the other hand , symbolizes the other side of
Harry, the cautious do not take any risks kind of guy. Now Hagrid seems to think and
have the knowledge of a muggle but yet, does not act like a muggle. Once being a wizard
himself at Hogwarts, Hagrid was kicked out for improper use of magic. From these
experiences he guides Harry through his years at Hogwarts.
In Harry's first year at Hogwarts, he is the most well know kid in school, number
one on the Quidditch team, and is well known because of his name...
It is not surprising how the book ends. Of course good wins over evil, like it does
in every children's book. It is also predictable that Harry grows and matures into a
responsible wizard. Still J.K. Rowling tells a children's tale of growing up in a new and
exciting way.

Summary: An exquisite journey into fantasy.
Review: In her Harry Potter books J.K. Rowling evokes fond memories of the good children versus the evil adults reminiscent of Roald Dahl. She writes in the classic fairy tale genre of the triumph of good vs evil but what a ride. The characters are amazing and well drawn. It is easy to suspend reality and to believe in the world that these wonderul beings inhabit. Harry is an endearing an engaging hero. The book is wonderful for children and adults. A must read.

Summary: Good Book
Review: In J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Harry is just a normal kid in the normal world, but he is famous in the magic world. Due to some lucky accidents Harry is on the quiddicht team and finds a three headed dog guarding the sorcerer's stone. The authors purpose to write this was to show people not to let fame and money get to you. I would recommend this if you like fantasy books with a lot of fake stuff, and a good imagination.
