Rating: Summary: I'm too old! Review: I wasn't going to read any Harry Potter because they're kids books. Then this guy at the wine bar said no no no, they're excellent books! So while waiting for a friend at the airport I picked this first one up and ended up reading it through that day. Though it is a well written story and enjoyable, it is most definitely geared toward a preteen audience. I would have thought higher of it were I reading it in elementary school.
Rating: Summary: I love it! I love it! and I love it!!! It's awesome! Review: I wasn't plan to pick up this book of my own since the church has been doing so much of preaching about it, they call it evil and satanic or etc. Out of my curiosity about this book, I bought one for myself. The fact was I enjoyed the book. It was will written with a very gifted writer in our time. I think she has something to offer to the young mind how to be more creative especially in our violent society. Her message is universal no wonder every parents and children that has an open mind enjoyed the book. I am a child grew up in a christian home, but my parents never sheltered me about the real world. I have enough understanding that this is a fictional story, and I don't have anything to worry about the churches are saying. (...) Mainly this book was written for those people that has an open mind and want to expand their imagination. (...) For me, this book deserved more than five stars. I loved the book and I always will!!
Rating: Summary: Read the book and see the movie ....NOW Review: I went into this Harry Potter craze knowing nothing about him, the book or the movie on my son's (Ok he is 23) recommendation and I must say WOW. I am now a 50 year old Harry Potter fan. Imaginative, captivating, and fun. Immerse yourself in this book and the movie and enjoy the ride.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Ever Review: I went to camp and everyone was reading this series so i decided to try it. I am glad I did. This Harry Potter book is my favorite book in the entire world. It is just the best and cleverest book ever written.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST Review: I went to England last Christmas Vacation, and my mom an dad bought me the book that was in our newspaper before it was even releast (?) here. They sounded boring. I read it once, then I think That I set the record of all time. I read it 12 times!
Rating: Summary: COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN Review: I will admit first off that I am 14 years old and I STILL loved this book. It is my new favorite book, when just yesterday, Angela's Ashes was. My family and I got home last night at 1 am, and I did not go to sleep until 5:15, when I was done. This book is a must read for everyone, and unless you are extremley religious, you won't find it "evil" or whatever.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic reading! Review: I will admit I went into reading this book as thinking it was going to be a waste of my time. I was wrong. I was hooked after the first chapter. I highly reccomend this book to adults, teenagers and kids. It is very well written and the detail the author goes into is amazing. I could visualize Hogwart's and all of the characters. Again, I highly recoomend this book to any and everyone.
Rating: Summary: Why all the hype? Review: I will admit that I enjoyed this book. But it was like mashed potatoes, a comfort food. It had no real substanince or flavoring. It was quite a bit too meandering for my taste, and while it had some good charicters, I found most of them to be rather stuck up and boaring. This is deffinitley not even in the realm of good books. It was a quick read, and not that good.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely enthralling Review: I will be among the millions of kids that want to walk around with lightning bolts on their forheads....and I'm almost 17! These books are absolutely amazing! I started the first one on a saturday and was complelty captivated by Harry and his wizardry. I finished that one in three days, the second one in one day! and I just began the third one and cannot put it down! These are must reads for everyone!
Rating: Summary: A great book for THE CHILD WITHIN ALL OF US! Review: I will be the first to admit that I'm 30 yrs old and I love Harry Potter. It doesn't matter how old or young you are-if you can open your mind just a bit and want to believe in a little magic, you'll love this series and Harry Potter in particular. We have all at one time or another been the underdog, the person faced with insurmountable odds-this is the story of one such person and how he deals with everything life seems to throw at him. JK Rowling has created a magical world that is extremely creative, fun, mysterious and leaves you wanting more. I look forward to reading the rest of this truly imaginative series!
