Summary: An excellent book.
Review: I was given a copy of Harry Potter from my mother in the dog days of July 99. I'm thrirteen now, but at the time I was more than hesitant to read a book with such a corny plot having read the sleeve. But I picked it up and about half a chapter in realized that I was in the midst of something really quite well-done. I had, of course, read books before, even at great length perhaps. No, never mind that. But this really made me realize what fun it was to shut yourself off away from society and just READ.

The characters are well set-up and though they develop at a grueling pace, they still manage to keep both feet on the ground. The book has surprises, humor, seriousness and horror all nicely compiled into a single work.

For new readers who've finished the series, check out C.S. Lewis, Roald Dahl, and the two Alice in Wonderland Books.

I've noticed that most of the people who are outraged or disgusted at this book are people who haven't read the whole thing. I think that puts them in a rather naive position. Sure, this series is hyped beyond belief, but it's really quite a good thing. More people are reading books. More Young people. As for the accusations of witchcraft and satanism attached to the book, there's always some person with a high pitched voice who stands up and whines about something. I'm a devout Catholic, but I'm still convinced that fantasy is fantasy and real evil is different. Some people, however, just can't distinguish the two. I (and the rest of the world) am not seeing any people carving bolt-shaped scars into their foreheads or worshipping lord Voldemort in the garages.

Summary: This book went straight to the top of my favorite book list!
Review: I was given this book by a past teacher of mine, because we both enjoy good books. I am 13, one year older than the reading level. I say that this book shouldn't have a reading level, people of all ages will LOVE this book! I hope that this book will be picked up by Universal Studio's, and made into a movie with an all-star cast!!!

Summary: What a great book for the entire family!!
Review: I was given this book to read by my stepmother. She is a school teacher and has read it to my seven year old brother.

I found it a very good and exciting book. I was suprised because I thought it was just a kids book. How wrong I was this is a good book for the entire family to read together. I have bought the second one and I am starting to read that one too. Of course I can only read it on weekends. Otherwise I miss a lot of sleep because I don't want to put the book down.

Summary: I stole my 9 year old brother's book!
Review: I was going to the beach one day and saw my little brother's Harry Potter book on the table and decided to take it for reading as a joke. I started to read about how he had to live with such an evil family and his very interesting past and I couldn't stop! I finished the book in about 4 days which seems like some sort of miracle because I hardly ever finish a book. I HAD to have the rest. It is such an awesome book and I don't care how old it's geared for I'm in 10th grade and I am waiting for the 3rd one to come out on paper back. I highly recommend the books to my friends for a fun read. Good luck Harry on your other adventures

Summary: This is just the begining
Review: I was hesitent on reading this book but one I got started I was hooked on Harry Potter. I know people think it is considered a fantasy because of the magic, but to me that was just the baseis. First of all this boy named Harry Potter lives in a normal home in England where he is horrably mis-trearted by his Aunt and Uncle. But then he gets this letter from a school called Hogwarts this is when he finds out he is a wizard, but he is not only a wizard, but he is a VERY famous wizard, he is famous for defeting the dark lord Voldemort. Off at Hogwarts Harry makes friends and also discovers something else that is there. Be sure to read this book because it is GREAT!

Summary: Stone is Engaging
Review: I was immediately drawn in to the life of this little boy who like Cinderella just wanted to be part of a loving family, but wasn't. Harry is clearly the underdog but through a series of events gains loyal friends, self confidence, and independence. I love the characters....the humor, sarcasm, and devotion. But you can't have a hero without the nasty villans, and they are so bad, which is good, because there is nothing worse than a wimpy bad guy. J.K.Rowling sure knows how to tell a story.

Summary: IT'S REALLY FUN TO READ!
Review: I was in the 10th grade when I first read Harry Potter, "The Sorcerer's Stone." Then, that's how I started reading the Sorcerer's stone. I LOOOOVED IT! It's a must read to everyone FOR ALL AGES. My cousin who is in college right now read every single book of Harry Potter ever since he started reading the Sorcerer's stone. It's so easy to read and understand. I find it very spectacular and outstanding. After I read the first book I couldn't stop reading. I am somewhat a big Harry Potter fan, but I just don't show it because on my free time that's when you see me reading a Harry Potter book. I think that all the Harry Potter books teaches a good lesson to young peers. This book has a good rating. There is no profanity, but just interesting details of the story and detailed characters. The story just keeps going and going and its what make people want to buy the next book. I think this book is a great series. After you're done reading with the first book, you just feel like going to the next book right away. It gets you so excited for the next book to come out. During the past few years since Harry Potter came out with it's first book, it has been so popular to people of all ages. I was really surprised when I found some college students reading it, TOO! I can never stop reading Harry Potter. My favorite book would have to be the Sorcerer's Stone. It is the FIRST BOOK that caught my attention to read more and MORE HARRY POTTER! The characters are very interesting and dynamic. It's interesting how they come up with these names in the book. Haha! I think a story about magic or wizards is fun. It's really COOL how they made Harry Potter the movie. There is never a time you will ever get bored reading any of the Harry Potter books because there is always exciting events happening. That is why I will never stop reading Harry Potter. I can't wait for the other books to come out! I recommend to ALL PEOPLE OF ALL AGES to read the first Harry Potter book , "Sorcerer's Stone," before reading any of the Harry Potter books.

Summary: A WONDERFUL book!
Review: I was introduced to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by my mom, who read it before I did and loved it! I started reading it because it sounded interesting and I needed a fantasy book for summer reading, but I found that I was reading one of the greatest books ever. I think that it's my most favorite book since Madeleine L'Engle's "A Ring of Endless Light" and Sharon Creech's "Walk Two Moons"!!! If you haven't read it yet, you don't know what you are missing! I can't wait to read the rest of the books!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book is one of the best books I have ever read!
Review: I was introduced to this book series through the Scholastic book order, because it sounded a lot like the style of books I liked reading. In the end, I ended up with all three of the books with two of them hardback. This addicting book series will thrill readers of all ages, with its topsey-turvey, broom flying, invisible, magical fun. These books are both fantasy, and mystery, with a slight twist to them. I would highly suggest that any read hungry people out there that haven't read the Harry Potter series, should buy them right away, and read them as soon as possible. They rank only a rank lower than Tolkien!
