Summary: The best book I have ever read. I'd give it infinate stars.
Review: I startedHarry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at eight o'clock pm. I was up until one o'clock reading it. I just couldn't put it down. The next day, I read every period in school. This was definetly the BEST book I have EVER read. From mail by owl to magic wands and Quiddich (soccer with broomsticks) I was just amazed. I felt like I was right there in hogwarts feeling all of Harry's fellings. (For one thing that is my name too and for another I love magic.) I have recommended it to all of my friends and they loved it. The flying and spells that are cast in this book feel like they have really happened. When I finished this book, I felt as though I had just lost a friend.

Review: I still remember when my dad first handed me this book. I readit again and again and again. I wish that the story is true and I wentto Hogwarts. The story was so good I could not put it down. I could not wait for the others so as soon as they come out in england I get them, I have read the 3rd and am on waiting for the 4th!

Summary: The Real Deal.
Review: I strongly disagree with another readers point of view, and just wanted to put in my two cents. First off, the Reader says that the book uses the word "Kill" in a very real sense. Whereas the bible details Soldiers nailing Jesus to across, slashing his side and placing a wine covered sponge onto the wound. It also details a crown of thorns placed around his head. I ask of you this, which would rather have your fifth grader read.

Summary: An exciting,mysterious fantasy...
Review: I strongly encourage people to read this wonderfully written fantasy. When I first started to read the Harry Potter books,I just loved it so much,I had to read more. I'm now through the fourth book (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) and waiting for the fifth book in the Harry Potter series. This particular book (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) is fantastic.It is about a boy called Harry Potter who lives with his aunt and uncle(Petunia and Vernon)...also with his huge (fat) cousin , Dudley. He starts to get letters from Hogwarts, but, his uncle Vernon refuses Harry to open the envelope which contains Harry's Hogwarts letter. One day letters start pouring inside the house. Harry grabs one but fails to open it.Soon Harry,Petunia,Vernon,and Dudley are in an old house on the sea.The game keeper of Hogwarts comes and takes Harry to Diagon Ally to buy his Hogwarts school supplies. Then Harry takes the Hogwarts express to Hogwarts.He then gets sorted into Gryffindor House(out of Hufflepuff,Ravenclaw,and Slitherin houses).Then he sets off on the most thrilling adventure you could ever imagine.This book will make you sweat as you read it.It is the best book you could ever read!

Review: I strongly sugest this book the book of a boy who is sent to live with his aunt and uncle And their spoiled brat dudley. He never knows that he is a wizard and he never knew his parents were wizards until one day he is sent to a special place. For what that place is and how he gets there is right in the book he also meets some friends and goes on exciting adventures. and allways watch out for voldemort. He might kill you like he killed Harrys parents!!!!!!

Summary: Inspiring, Fantasic Book!
Review: I teach 4th grade and discovered this book last year. The content is inventive and child friendly. Children relate to the plot and experiences of the characters. Imagine my surprise when students who disliked reading started picking it up and reading it over a weekend! The whole Harry Potter series has been a wonderful inspiration and motivator. My heart felt gratitude goes out to Rowlings for inspiring so many of my struggling readers : )

Summary: Kids can't read it fast enough!
Review: I teach fourth grade in Concord, MA. I have a group of avid readers and I tend to run my next choice of read aloud by them for their opinions. I gave Harry Potter to one student and he polished it off in a night. His Mom wrote me a note the following day to please excuse his sleepiness because they extended his bedtime so he could finish. Another student took it home the following day, and the same thing happened. Now, it was my turn to read it. I was walking out of school with it tucked under my arm and the mother of twins in my class stopped me. She gasped when she saw the book and she said that she couldn't find it anywhere (sold out!). I am sucker for people being excited about literature so I forked it over with the promise that I could have it back once we returned from Winter Break. That Monday arrived and the older sibling showed up at my door begging me to give her a few more days to finish it. She too couldn't put it down. Well, I've finally got it back and I'm reading it aloud and needless to say, my students love it! They laugh out loud, gasp and we have wonderful discussions. Read aloud has become the highlight of our day!
