Summary: The best english reading book in years!o read the book.
Review: I saw the movie, heard all about the books and finnaly when I saw someone learning english by reading it I decided the book. GREAT book so good in fact that I already have all the books and started this morning reading the second while commuting. The author is great to create a "realist" wizard atmosphere leaving to the readers to fill the spots to theirs own taste. It is really fun to read.

Review: I say that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone rocks! I loved it! Everybody who likes magic, adventure, and things like those should read it. I liked it mostly because Harry is a lot like you and me, but he can have adventures, too! So hurry and read this book- it's great!

Review: I see no real reson to tell everyone that this is an absolutely positively wonderful book because basically anyone who lives within 100 miles from a T.V. would know this.Few people have such great writing techniques that people actually believe with a small grain of there heart that these things are real. Tolkien had it, and so did C.S.Lewis and Philip Pullman. Now we must add to that sadly short list a new writer.For Harry Potter has such reality that everyone who reads it will believe that they can walk through a wall between platforms 9 and 10 and be in the magical world.Just be warned before you read this book that if ou read this book you will absolutely have to read the second and third and now forth books or you might very well spend your lifetime wondering what happened to Harry ,Hermione and the rest of the wizarding world.

Review: I share the view, exactly of the other 'reader from Canada'. I am a 34 year old government worker from Western Canada and I picked up this book after seeing it sit for so long on Amazon's bestseller list. I couldnt have been more thrilled. I haven't been so excited about a book since I was kid. I've got Harry wallpaper on my computer, a Harry screensaver (from Scholastic.com), and am anxious for any type of marketing items that come along ..dolls, posters, etc.(now that IS strange). I just wish I had a child to read it to! If I was 10 years old, I would likely quiver and shake at the sight of a new Harry Potter book. Wait, I already do that!! Never Mind.Thank you Joanne Rowling!!

Review: I simply love Harry Potter books. They are the best books I have ever read and probably ever will read. I cant wait until the fourth one comes out. I just love the books.

Summary: OK book, but I don't get the hype
Review: I started reading Harry Potter with the expectation that I'd like it. However, after completing the first 100 pages, I felt like it was more of a duty to finish the book. I thought the characters were two dimensional and unbelievable. I found the plot predictable, and even my son found the story boring.

Review: I started reading these books thinking that they would probably suck but boy was I wrong. I love the adventure in these books. Especially when they sneek out in the middle of the night in hogwarts to have a duel with Malfoy who is the kind of Harrys' nemesis. I highly recomend this book to anyone who likes adventure mysteries.

Review: I started reading this book for a college children's lit, and i immediately could not put it down. I finished it in 2 days, and went on to read the second and third. Each one only gets better. I am now starting the fourth with great anticipation.

Review: I started reading this book to my 6 year old son. we only got through two chapters before his bedtime. It,however, was too good for me to put down I stayed up half the night to finish it and I am enjoying reading the rest for him. He is just learning to read now and is excited about discovering such wonderful stories for himself.

Review: I started reading this book to my 8 year old son. He couldn't wait for us to read together every evening, so he read the whole book on his own on the first night!! Both of us really enjoyed it and are looking forward to the next book(s).
