Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Sorcerers Stone Review: I read this book in the 5th grade, because I thought it would be an interesting Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone book to read. After I had started the book I realized it was not interesting in fact it made me sick after the first two pages. I would not recommend this book to anyone unless you like witchcraft books and other books like this. I would most likely give this book ONE star.
Rating: Summary: Just one more page! Review: I read this book in three hours! I loved it SO much I couldn't put it down!!! Harry Potter is SO cool, and his wizardry school sounds SO neat. I case you don't know the story, Harry Potter is a boy who grew up with a 'muggle' (Human) family. What he doesn't know is that he is famous for being the only person to live through an EVIL wizard's wrath. When he finds out that he is a WIZARD, he can't believe it! He is sent to a wizard and witch school and he has a great adventure trying to defeat for good the EVIL wizard. Does he succeed? READ THE BOOK!!!!
Rating: Summary: once you start you can't stop Review: I read this book just the other day. I started in the morning and couldn't stop till i finished it in the evening. One of the best books i've ever read. I gave the book to my brother who read it almost as fast as me. It's a great buy.
Rating: Summary: The best book ever!! Review: I read this book not to long ago. I couldn't put it down. I was amazed that the author was able to keep me guessing and keep me interested in the book. I usually don't read fantasy novels, but Harry Potter is the best! I can actually picture him as a normal person. It's amazing!
Rating: Summary: Fun!!! Review: I read this book on a dare. A friend had suggested it and I gawfed at the idea of reading a "children's" book. Much to my delight the book was entertaining beyond desctription. Harry's trials and tribulations were so universal I found myself giving real names of people from my past to these fictious characters.I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. Another book the same friend suggested was "Working on Yourself Doesn't Work" by Ariel and Shaya Kane. Also a great read.
Rating: Summary: My fourth graders beg me to keep reading!!! Review: I read this book on a two hour flight back home from Christmas Holidays. I knew right away that my Fouth graders would love this! I was right; they cannot get enough of poor Harry and the misadventures, his growing into his own self and the trials of being special. I love the fact that they beg me to keep going!
Rating: Summary: Pure Magic! Review: I read this book on a whim, just to see what all the buzz was about. Oh and I loved it so much! It was such a refreshing break from the thin, one demensional children's books that are published today simply for marketing. It is long and challenging enough to leave the younger readers with feelings of great accomplishment, and it is enjoyable and enchanting enough to compell them to finish. My little sisters read it and, for the first time, they had actually enjoyed reading. They felt an immense sense of fulfillment when they finished this first novel. J.K. Rowling did a perfect job with this novel. She incorporated likeable, hateable, fun characters with a story so magical. 'Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone' is the best children's book to hit the shelves since 'Through the Looking Glass'. Kudos to you, J.K. Rowling; I can't wait for more!
Rating: Summary: READ!!! Review: I read this book once and was astounded. On a long car trip I started telling the story to my friend and she loved it. I ended up relating the whole story to her, and people soon began to listen in; quite suddenly I had a huge audience. This book follows in the footsteps of Roald Dahl. My mom and I can't wait for a sequel or new book by Rowling.
Rating: Summary: Great Great Great Review: I read this book once, and was hooked. I recently ordered the 3rd book from Amazon.com/uk/ and am dying to read it! Great book for young children. Really expands imagination!
Rating: Summary: This is not for adults Review: I read this book out of curiosity, and while I sort of enjoyed it, it definitely is not a book for adults (I am 32). The plot is subdivided in several chapters, which are more or less self-contained (this book reminded me of a season of half hour sitcom shows). The storyline does not advance much in each chapter, but little by little something happens. Am I going to read the sequels? Maybe. Read it only if you have kids or if you're into stuff kids like.
