Summary: Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone
Review: I read the fist book of the series and was completely blown away.A story of a boy wizard who grew up not knowing what he really was. Who on his eleventh birthday was introduced into a new world, which he belonged in all his life. Who attended a magical school of wizardry and witchcraft. Once there he quickly made best friends who will clearly play major roles in the future books. No story would be complete without villains which this book provides a great deal of. While at the school Harry uncovers his dark past and how he ended up living with his relatives. At the end of the school year Harry comes face to face with an evil figure from his past. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is clearly on its way to becoming one of the century's best books.

Summary: Magnificent
Review: I read the Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone. The book was wounderful, and very delightful. The Auther does a good job keeping you in suspence, and still being able to keep you laughing. I enjoyed the book very much and I hope you will to when you get your hands on it.

Summary: Harry Potter Books, the best!
Review: I read the Harry Potter Series and it was a blast! It gives a lot of imagination to young kids and expires your children to write stories. Harry Potter is easily the children's best book character. Way to go, J.K. Rowling!

Summary: Harry Potter in Hebrew, at last!
Review: I read the reviews of the Harry Potter books in Newsweek and Time Magazine months ago. It has finally been translated into Hebrew and arrived at the book stores here in Israel last week, and I rushed to buy it for my 11 year old son. He read it within 24 hours and says it is the best book he has ever read. He loved the plot, the characters, the descriptions and the humorous tone. He can't wait for the other books to come out in Hebrew.

Summary: Thanks for making a book report fun!
Review: I read The Sorcerer's Stone for a school book report and usually I hate books but this one was awesome, I couldn't take my eyes off it; one night I read for four hours. If you haven't read Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone I HIGHLY recommend you read it. I learned about the first Harry Potter from my brother and thought, "How good can it be? I've read other books that were excellent." Well, boy was I surprised when I got into it. If you haven't read Harry Potter you should, no matter what your age. I'm 14 and I loved it but I know people from age 7 to 70 that love it just as much. Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone reminds me a lot like Ronald Dahl's books, which makes it a high priority on my reading lists. They are serious, yet funny, and exciting in a suspenseful way. I have one thing to say to J.K. Rowling- "You are a great writer" I would never of even dreamed of coming up with a character as good a Harry. He is like a regular kid, well except he is a wizard. Go read HARRY POTTER now and be amazed!

Summary: This book was worth the while.
Review: I read this as a child, and have scince read it again for an english class, and the second time around it was even more fun, expecially being able to compare it with the movie. The movie did change a few thigns, but it's still fun to watch.

If you have ever considered reading anything with the slight'est bit of magic in it, check this out.

Some people said it's a long introduction to the other books in the series, but i found it very action packed and funny. Not many books can be called funny.

If you like this i highly recommend you read the other potter books.

Note: This book is not just for kids.

~hope this helps

Summary: Really good
Review: I read this book about 3 months ago & I felt that it was good enough to reccomend to my aunt's 3rd grade class. She told them to buy it and they read it all together in class. She reccomended it to all of her co-workers and I think that they all have read it to their classes. I'm 13 going to 9th grade and I thought it was great.

Summary: Magic for Moms and Kids
Review: I read this book aloud to my 9-yr-old son, who was resistant to the idea at first. We read a chapter a night (well, most nights - some nights we read 2 chapters!) and I could see his skepticism change to curiosity, then to outright enthusiasm. By the time we were on Chapter 14, he was begging me to buy the sequels immediately. The experience of reading like this was new to both of us, and wonderful! We will definitely read more books this way, starting with the next Harry Potter, which arrived the same day we read the last chapter of this book. The book itself was magic. It was funny and touching and scary (well, to a 9-yr-old!) and great fun! My son really identified with Harry, too. He liked Harry's friends, disliked his enemies and rooted for Gryffindor House as if it were his own. Buy or borrow this book! Your kids will love the book and you'll love sharing it with them.

Summary: Succeeds at all Levels..Incredible story...Already a classic
Review: I read this book aloud to my family (with 2 children) over a period of two weeks. I have done this many times before with other books but never have they wanted me to keep going and going and not stop. As soon as we finished, my 11 year-old daughter had to read it for herself.

Just why this book has become such a phenomenon is not hard to see. The story appeals to all of us, no matter what our age. The suspenseful parts have just the right amount to keep us on the edge of our seats; the humor is perfectly-timed; the emotional portions are exquisite. All of the technical aspects of a fiction novel for older children are here.

But that is not why it is so wonderful. The character of Harry Potter, I believe, triumphs over a situation in which we can all see ourselves. His background is one we can relate to, even if it exaggerates our own predicaments (just as our own memories are). His progress through the story just makes us want to cheer. All of the characters are multi-dimensional and impossible to predict, constantly suprising us, and yet the whole ensemble merges together like a world class symphony.

If you haven't read this book yet, don't wait any longer. It is not often that we get to witness the birth of a classic.
