Summary: Immediately Captured
Review: I purchased this book due to all of the hype I was hearing. I have a little boy and thought that we could read this together and enjoy it. As it turns out, my son wasn't as captured as I was (he is still developing the imagination without pictures ;)). I was immediately wrapped up in Harry's world. After finishing the book in 3 evenings, I went on to the next and the next.... Highly recommend this book!

Summary: Harry Potter is a great book to read.
Review: I read about 1 chapter and I couldn't stop. I stayed up 'til 2 a.m. to read 12 chapters. I gave it to my teacher and now she's reading it to my whole class.

Summary: Wow!!!
Review: I read all Harry Potter's books in Spanish and was completely hooked(just like my children aged 20,17 and 11), but when I found books 3 and 4 in English I really was amazed, these books have everything a reader of any age loves: good characters, wonderful descriptions, perfect dialogues and everything to get imagination loose and have fun. Please, don/t wait too long to write the next one and please! please! please! Don't write only seven of them!

Summary: All those reviews and ITS FIVE STARS!
Review: I read Harry Potter after it being recommended by my mom. I was going to read it and then she would and we would talk about it. I loved this book so much that I have read the other two before she finished the first one. I love this book so much, the imagination of Rowling is very amazing. I love the characters, I'm like Hermione myself, my brother is like Ron and my mom is like Mrs. Weasley. The story line is easy to follow and hard to confuse. It makes you hate Uncle Vernon and Snape but love Harry, his friends Ron and Hermione, and his parents. The thing about one of the Professors at school being Voldemort's servant was unbelievable!

Review: I read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone which was extremely intriguing, I could NOT put it down. Then I came here to buy one for a friend, I searched for Harry Potter Book 1 and I found it's called the "Socerer's Stone" instead. Why was it necessary to change the title? You can't find a meaning or description (not physical) of a socerer's stone in the dictionary but there is one for a philosopher's stone. And why change the text? An example is in chapter two; 'photographs showed a large, blond boy riding his first bicycle, on a roundabout at the fair,' this book changes roundabout to carousel. Do you think some people would picture the ones you drive around in England? I'm also not particularly fond of the cover art on the Scholastic publishings. I probably feel this way because I saw the artwork on the books published by Bloomsbury first. I'm not against the art work, or saying that I don't appreciate the artist's style but why change the text? Wasn't it comprehensible without the change?

Summary: This book was REALLY good!
Review: I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone because everyone else in my reading class was reading it. I am now glad I did, because this book was awsome! I know that many people reccomend this book to all their friends, and I know that I will. I love how the book was very relistic for a fantasy, and how the characater's were very real. READ THIS BOOK!

Summary: Creative, but less intriguing than Roald Dahl's books
Review: I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone because I wanted to know why people made a lot of fuss about it. After the first chapter, I understood. It was because the "newness" and genuine ideas created by J.K. Rowling. Although I was impressed, I don't think it's a "must-read" book, let alone being the very best seller. Perhaps I'm too old for Harry. The second and third in this series were boring for me as they dwelled on the same theme. The creations (words, scenes, and plots) were no longer catchy. I have to say Ms. Rowling has to prove herself after Harry Potter series end. Anyway, I can't say her books are not great, but my heart is still occupied by the prolific and creative Roald Dahl.

Summary: Harry Potters #1!
Review: I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. I really liked this book because it had a way of creating an image in my mind. When Harry met up with the Mountain Troll, I could not only visualize the shape, but even the odor of the beast.
Harry Potter grew up living with his Aunt and Uncle. When Harry was about to turn 11, letters came from nowhere, addressed to where he sleeps. They are invitations to Hogwarts, the wizarding school. Harry finds out that he is a wizard and responcible for killing Lord Voldermort. Hagrid came to take him shopping in London so Harry buys all of his school supplies. So after that he goes to Hogwarts. He is sorted into Gryffindor. When he takes his first flying lesson Moganagle sees him and then he becomes Gryffindor's Seeker. Harry reads the paper and finds out the vault that he and Hagrid went to had been broken into but there was nothing there when the thief broke in because Hagrid took out the pacage that was in there. At his first Quiditch game, Harry almost is thrown off his broom. Ron and Hermione think it was Snape,so Hermione sets Snape's cloak on fire. Harry and his two friends take the wrong stairs and find out why that corridor is forbidden. They tell Hagrid about it and he starts to give away a ton of information about the socerer's stone. One day Hagrid gets a dragon. He raises him for a few weeks then sent him to Romania. Harry gets detention and had to go into the Forbidden Forest. In the Forbidden Forest Harry runs into Lord Voldermort. Harry and his friends think that Snape is trying to steal the stone to bring Voldermort back to full life. they try to tell Dumbledor but he is gone!
I would recommend this book to any one who likes a good book with magic in it. If you like the sound of this book READ IT!
