Summary: reader of this great book from Springfield, TN
Review: I have read this book and I didn't want to, but after the first chapter I could not put it down! I would recommend this book to kids, and adults as well, to read this book if you like magic and thrilling "on the edge of your seat" excitment!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Book 1)
Review: I have read this book and it is excellent. I only have a limited time to read and found this book very exciting and enjoyable. The charaters are quick and funny with some of there remarks. I recommend this book to everyone.

Summary: Fantasy with a Warning Label
Review: I have read this book and started the second one. I have always loved fairy tales and read the works of J. R. R. Tolkien to my daughter before she was 7 years old. While J.K. Rowling's imagination is wonderful, and the books are very entertaining, I agree with [other's] view in terms of how appropriate they are for young children., When the hero and his friends are encouraged to lie, fight, and express hatred for those who oppose them, there is a significant negative message that young children DO pick up on. Too many of the characters in these stories are mean spirited, from the parents to the kids, to the teachers. Even the "nice" father of Harry's best friend gets into what amounts to a street brawl with the father of Malfoy in the second book. The message in these books simply reinforces violence and intense competition as the way to get ahead in the world. As if we don't get enough of that already. It's too bad that such terrific fantasy and imagination has to include such unrelenting nasty behavior for so many of the main characters. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition

Summary: Mystic Magical Adventure
Review: I have recently read a book called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I think it's one of the greatest books of all time. It's about a boy named Harry Potter who is an orphan and lives with his mean uncle and aunt with their spoiled brat son named Dudley. He grows up miserably with them because they treat him like an animal. Then one day, Harry finds out that he is a wizard and begins to attend Hogwarts wizarding school. That's where the adventure begins. I like this book because of the magic, excitement and adventure. I recommend this book for 10 years old and up.

Summary: Harry Potter is great for all ages
Review: I have recently started reading Harry Potter and I learned my lesson that you can't rush temerariously into these stories you have to give them time to grow and htat time is usually little because once you learn of Harry's incredible likeability you fall into the Harry Potter craze and if you are anything like me you'll say to yourself I maybe joining the "game" late but at least I'm joining and trust me every single second spent reading this and the other three novels is worth it and the pages you practically devour with glee will be locked away in your memory as some of the most enchanting things you ahve ever read even if you are five even if you are five hundred you will love Harry Potter [...] it's hard not to love at least one element of the Harry Potter novels.

Summary: Harry Potter
Review: I have resently finished reading all four Potter books. All lived up to high expectations. They all have action, adventure and best of all a gripping storyline. Each book is able to hook the reader for hours with their exciting and twisting story. I have also read the books which were brought out to raise money for Comic Relief which also had the some enthusiastic and gripping reading qualities as the main books. I hope to enjoy the movie and many more Potter books to come. I recommend everyone to read at least one Harry Potter book whatever their age, but then once you've read one you'll what to read them all.

Summary: Excellent reading by Jim Dale!
Review: I have the complete series of the Harry Potter audio books, and have simply been blown away by Jim Dale's vocal ability. Though a bit pricey, it is well worth the cost. I have listened to the entire book at least six times! A must buy for any Harry Potter fan.

Summary: Pure, unadulterated pleasure
Review: I have to admit I was skeptical over the fuss made about Harry Potter; especially when adult friends who I don't consider readers began raving about them. When the first one came out in paperback, I decided to test the waters, and I found the reading experience to be one of the more pleasurable I 've had, and that includes adult fiction as well. "Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone" not only transported me to a state of childhood bliss, but I found the novel well- written, capable of being read on many levels, and at times genuinely moving. The characters, and terminology are easy to learn, as the reader easily takes them to heart, and the book does not have the academic pretentiousness of such fantasy classics as "Watership Down" or the Tolkein trilogy, both of which I have read, and enjoyed, but not enough to be sucked into a taste for fantasy. 'Harry Potter' has changed all that; I not only can wait for the next installments, I intend to buy them in paperback so I can own the entire series, and someday curl up on a rainy day and read the entire chronicle cover to cover. I have not enjoyed fiction of this type since the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis and the 'time travel' books by Madeline L'Engle. It will be a long time before I do so again. Hats off to Harry Potter.
