Summary: Wonderful for any age!
Review: I have read "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" to my six-year-old daughter. We are now on the second book. Being a HUGE fan of the Narnia Chronicles, I was skeptical about the Harry Potter series, but after reading the first book I realized that J.K. Rowling must also admire C.S. Lewis. It's a wonderful book, and I recommend that all ages read it! Happy Mom in Richmond, Virginia

Summary: Simply magnificent!
Review: I have read a lot of books, but "Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone" amazed me. Even though it's supposed to be a book for younger people, I found it incredibly funny and extraordinary. J.K. Rowling has with this book written a masterpiece.

Summary: What's the big deal???????
Review: I have read all but the fourth Harry potter book. All my friends think these books are great. WHY?????? I have no religious problems with these books, but I find it pretty sad how much of the world is caught up in the notion that these are great books. They are boring and run of the mill. Rowling should try to be a little more original and exciting. The books are no better than the "Babysitter's club" or "Nancy Drew Files". If you want GOOD books, go to the library and look around, they're not hard to find.

Summary: Everyone should read Harry Potter!
Review: I have read all four books several times over and love all of them. They all have wonderful sories and one cannot help but be enraptured by them. Some people say that they are satanic but I have yet to see any evil. In Harry's first adventure he encounters mean teachers, a mirror that shows your heart's greatest desire, and a three headed dog. As far as I am concerned everyone shouls read Harry Potter!

Summary: I think I know why...
Review: I have read all four books through twice before posting this review, to be certain I was not imagining how great they were. I am 35, and am well-read in various genres, not only fantasy and scifi. The thing that is different about the Harry Potter books, to my mind, is the intimacy with which the characters are treated. Their thoughts and feelings are exposed more quickly and more deeply than I can remember seeing before. Perhaps comic books and movies have a similar level of intimacy, but of course they rely on pictures to provide a rich setting. It is harder to do with words. Ursula LeGuin does something like it in her Earthsea book, _The Tombs Of Atuan_. With such transparency, one runs the risk of exposing the potential foolishness of the characters, the story, or the author. But Rowling appears to have used careful planning, extensive brainstorming notes, and multiple levels of meaning--apparently naturally, with talent rather than effort--and pulled it off brilliantly. You will lose any drop of loneliness you contain while reading the Harry Potter books. You will remember your secret childhood dream, of wishing for a group of superheroes to show up at your home or school, to take you away to a game and a place where you are Important. Out of a lifetime filled with reading, these are now my favorite stories.

Summary: A thouroughly enjoyable series!
Review: I have read all four Harry Potter books and find them fascinating and quite fun. It is an easy read for me; I am 23; but it is also full of all sorts of fun and goodies. The characters are good and well designed and the plots filled with teenage mischief.

These may not be the hardest or best fantasy books I have ever read, but they are enjoyable, fun, and quite relaxing.

Summary: A great book
Review: I have read all sorts of fantasy and sci fi, but this is one of the best I have ever read. Henry Potter is a character you instantly love. His relatives are the bad guys that you love to hate, and his school is every kid's fantasy. My mother read this and suggested it to me. I read it and thought it was great. Now my little brother is reading it and he loves it. I couldn't put it down. It's great for every age range. It's just a really good story. It comes highly recomended by everyone I know who's read it. If you haven't read it you should.
