Summary: A Must Have
Review: I have an 8 yr. old daughter and a 6 yr. old son. My 8 yr. oldhates to read, it's a constant fight. I bought Harry Potter with thehopes of stirring her even a little. Harry and his unique line of friends and foes did just that. Every night they passed up T.V. time, computer time, even ice cream to hear the next chapter in the exciting mystical world of Harry Potter. I can't wait for books 2, 3, and 4!

Summary: Entertaining and enchanting, this book is a great read!
Review: I have been a reader of fantasy for 35 years, and I have not read such an interesting, enjoyable book in years. Rowling's style is fresh, and her story is wonderful fun. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story told with exquisite style.

Summary: great book, great audiobook
Review: I have been hugely impressed with all four HP books, so I bought the audiocassette to see whether I could get my husband hooked. We listened to the first half on a long car trip, and I think it worked. Jim Dale does a wonderful job of reading, differentiating each character in a different, and very characteristic, voice. (Apparently he's had to use 400+ voices for HPIV!)

I was surprised to find how much I gleaned from Dale's reading even after reading Sorceror's Stone several times. The slower pace and different emphases of reading aloud highlight points that are easy to miss in a silent reading. Also, hearing the Scots burr of Prof. McGonagall and Hagrid's regional accent (Lancaster? Somerset?) serve to bring out aspects of their characters that were less apparent to this American reader.

Summary: My opinion...
Review: I have been reading a lot of books in my life, I write some myself. When I first heard of Harry Potter I thought to myself, "Eh, it's probably just a children's book!" Then, I started hearing it was good. I believe I got them for Christmas or something, actually for both my sister and me. I read the first one (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) and fell in love with the series. I was completely caught up with it. I couldn't put down the book. I used to read the whole page until I found one that ended the sentence or else I would lose my place. I know, but I didn't feel like using bookmarks! I couldn't stop reading because it was so interesting. I love mystery and adventure books such as Harry Potter and EverWorld. I like being kept in suspense. I think that Harry Potter is a great and magical book not only for young ones to enjoy, but for everyone to experience the magic Harry Potter is experiencing in J.K. Rowling's mysterious and fun series. I do hope they keep the books coming!

Summary: The best book I ever read.
Review: I have been reading books since 3 years old and although I can remember loads of them this is definately THE BEST.The Chamber of secrets has come out in England and that is just as good. All I can say is no book is as worth reading.

Summary: Destined to be a classic
Review: I have been reading fantasy since I was a child and this book(and the series so far)is one of the best I have ever read. The story and Harry captured me in the beginning and I could not put the book down. Harry is the underdog and he truimphs over adversity in each book. How he does it is what makes this book so good. I felt like I was part of the story, that I was there watching everything happen. This book and possibly the series are destined to become classics. It is a book for all ages. Read it, you'll love it.

Summary: ATTENTION POTENTIAL BUYERS AND READERS!!!!
Review: I have been reading over some of these 'reviews' and was dissapointed on what people keep on saying. prejudice, satanism, and all this other crap. Well, IT DOESN'T. Just because one character is fat and mean, doesn't mean that everyone that fat is mean, she means that particular kid id means. STOP MAKING THIS BOOK SOUND TERRIBLY HORRIBLE WHEN IF IT'S NOT. Remember part of the golden rule, when you can't say something nice don't say anything at all. Oh, if you think i read this book because of the hype, i didn't i read it before the hype. AND it is completly unrelated to ANIMORPHS and THE HOBBIT. Oh and if you say the writing is bad, take in consideration that author wrote half this book on napkins!!!!! It's a must read, don't give in, read it because you want to, not because of what people said. I'm just clearing somethings up!

PS: sorry for the bad typing, i mess up when i'm typing a point

Summary: Harry Potter sparked my imagination like Hobbit.
Review: I have been reading the Harry Potter series with my son Kevin this summer and I look forward to the next chapter every day. Harry is challenged by a mean foster family, a mysterious, dangerous, heroic past life that is being slowly revealed, evil bullies, and several mean spirited teachers, but Harry is ready to take on any challenge with enthusiasm, innocence, and unexpected strength.

Summary: In 16 years of teaching this is the best read aloud book.
Review: I have been teaching for sixteen years, and I can honestly say this is the book that not only I, but my students, have enjoyed the most. They begged me to keep reading - that hasn't happened in a long time. When they found out there was a sequel, not only I, but several of my students ordered the book from England, and as soon as it came in, I had to start reading it. We have all become Harry Potter fans. We are all awaiting each subsequent book (and are heartbroken that there are only seven books planned at present!) My students are eagerly trying to find a way to write to J. K. Rowling to express their love for her books.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I have both read this book and listened to it on audio. I really enjoy the audio, it gives me time to do crafts while getting back to Harry's stories. I like his ability to accept help from his friends and also that he does not know everything.
