Rating: Summary: I give Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone five stars. Review: I give Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone five stars, because J.K. Rowling does an excellent job of drawing the reader into the story. In the book Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, the main character is Harry Potter. Harry's parents were killed by an evil sorcerer named Voldemont. Then Voldemont tried to kill Harry, but couldn't kill him. If you want to find out what happens to Harry, you'll have to read the book. I recommend this book to anyone who can read because it's very funny.
Rating: Summary: This book was the best book I ever read. Review: I give this book 100 stars. If this were a movie and Siskel were here, Ebert and he would give it two thumbs up. Imagine you lived with your Aunt and Uncle and your mean and fat cousin Dudly. I am talking about the book called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone or in England it is known as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Soon you find out that you are a wizard and that your parents were too, but they were killed by Voldemort the evil wizard. Then you go to Hogwarts, a school for young Wizards or Witches. It is very exciting and anyone who doesn't think so is crazy. It was the best book I ever read. Imagine being hated in the world of the Muggles but out of that world you are famous and well known. Everyone knows him and knows that he was famous. Also he was magical because when Voldemort tried to kill Harry he couldn't and all it left was a mark on his head. You also soon make friends and eat candies such as every flavor jelly beans and chocolate frogs. Also you find the greatest secret of all and become a hero. Imagine being the seeker finding the golden snitch, and riding on the newest and best broomstick called the Nimbus-two thousand. That is what it was like for a hero, survivor, and many other things. His name was Harry Potter. If you haven't read this book read it fast. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. I think you will do the same thing. I am a 10 year-old named Trevor Dawson.
Rating: Summary: The Socerer's Stone Review: I give this book a five star rating. The characters were cool in the book. I really liked the book because I think wizardry is interesting. It is interesting because it is kinda like magic. I liked how it was like a mystery. There were a lot of parts where you didn't know what was going to happen. I think people from the ages 7 until the oldest you can get, should read this book. People who like mysteries, action, and children will enjoy this book. I would recommend this book to people because it is very interesting because of it's different character's, and how their personalities are. I would think most people will enjoy the book. It is full of twists and turn in the plot.

Rating: Summary: One of the "must to be read" books Review: I got "harrypotterism" from one of my cousins; the next thing I now is that I passed it to all my family (my mother, my father, even my brother read it), my boyfriend, our best friends, my ex, my collegues at the office and I'm not through yet. The plot is great, the style is remarcable (even translated into Romanian), characters become real as you read and they become your friends. I took the book even on holiday for some friends who hadn't read it yet and they were "touched" too and we spoke all the time then about quidditch, Gryffinders and so on - it became our secret language. I look forward for the 3rd and 4th books to be printed in Romania so I can enjoy them too!

Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Casts a Powerful Enchantment Upon Readers Review: I got into the Harry Potter books a few years ago. My mother had bought it, hearing it was a good book, and thinking I would like to read it. I was thoroughly unconvinced, for at that point, I would read books about horses only,(which I now realize was a very boring decision) and Harry Potter definitley did not fit that description. One day, when I was unbeleiveably bored, I decided to give the book a go. After reading two pages, I could not put the book down! My parents had to force me to let go of the book so I could get some sleep. Here is a breif description of the book: Harry Potter (a 10 year old boy who, though miserable with his hateful relatives, beleives himself an ordinary kid) starts to receive letters. Readers already have an idea what is going to happen thanks to the first chapter, which is similar to a prolouge. Finally on the eve of his eleventh birthday, he finds out that not only is he a wizard and going to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but he is a famous one at that. At Hogwarts, he finds friendship, magic where ever he goes, Quidditch (a sport played on flying broomsticks), and a destiny he never imagined. J.K. Rowling spins along this rich, funny, imaginative, action filled novel. The characters all have uniquely different personalities, and it is all too easy to beleive that they are real. Rowling writes the novel so that you feel exactly the same as Harry nearly all the time. I feel bad for anyone who does not read the book. The story stops you beleiving that it is uncool to read. I have read all of the books, and they only get better as they go along. I admit that after reading the first book I couldn't help but hope that maybe, just maybe, I was a witch and could go to a magical school like Hogwarts. Harry Potter is just that kind of book.
Rating: Summary: best book I've read in years Review: I got lucky last week and picked up a copy Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at the local library. It took me less than one afternoon to finish and I couldnt wait to get my hands on the next one. I am avid reader, and I enjoy all the usual best sellers, Patricia Cornwell, John Grisham, etc. but this is the best book i have read in ages. It was exciting, colorful, descriptive, totally unrealistic and I was sad when i finished. I cannot wait to read it aloud to my children, ages 6 and 8.
Rating: Summary: A great fantasy book that engages all, even MOM. Review: I got the book for my 7 year old son. I have been reading it aloud for him every night and now my 4 year old daughter is joining us. I wish my throat could stand reading aloud for longer intervals. I am enjoying it as much or more as my kids. It's a great book that besides engaging a child's imagination, teaches about being nice to others, even if they are different.I definitely recommend it. And of course, I will be reading the next two.
