Summary: A book for ALL
Review: I decided to read the book to determine what all the Christian agitation was about. I am a Christian and I believe I have the gift of discernment. I found this book a GREAT read! Family values are upheld, like Ron's family, who does not have to be rich to be happy, and abusive family systems are ridiculed, like Harry's relatives. Good and evil are distinct in the muggle world and in the magic world. A very entertaining series!

Summary: Harry Potter and The Sorcerers Stone
Review: I decided to read this book because I heard it was "all the rage" and that many parents objected to some of the content. Well, I'm a bit older than the recommended age group for this book, but I thought it was COOL and I could hardly put it down. The story does encourage fantasy and imagination, but in the end it's your basic good triumphs over evil. Reality should be that straight forward. There's plenty of good lessons in this book and because it's readable for the adult too, it provides a great opportunity for parents to get at their kids level and connect. I'm going to get Books 2 and 3.

Summary: Not just for kids....a treasure to read for every age!!!
Review: I decided to read this when the latest in the series was released this past summer. What prompted me was the love of the series that I saw. My youngest loved them when they first came out (5th grade then) and even with the latest installment, my college and grad school daughters purchased and devoured the novel.
I absolutely loved this tale. If there is any real magic to these novels, then J. K. Rowling has cast her spell. These books are enchanting, engaging and a sheer delight to read. You will be drawn into the lives of Harry and his friends and be enthralled with their adventures.
The best thing about finishing this tale, I know there are more books about Harry Potter to enjoy!!!
Not just for children, they are a treasure to read for every age!!!

Summary: Absolutely great for kids
Review: I definitely think this is a good thing for our kids. Get them involved in something that is just good clean fun. Get a copy for your child and while you are here get a copy of An Encounter with a Prophet for yourself. Your children deserve it and you deserve it.

Summary: Harry Potter Book One is Great
Review: I did not catch onto the Harry Potter craze with the first wave... in fact, it has been months since the books came out. My friend told me that I had to read the book before I saw the movie, so I reluctantly picked it up and began to read. This book was fabulous- i truly could not put it down. It took me only a couple of days to read, and I don't normally have time to read. This book is great! It will get younger kids to read, and older kids to maybe enjoy reading a little more. Give Harry Potter a shot, I haven't met a person yet that didn't think that the book was worth the read, and in most cases, really good. Don't think that the book is too childish or elementary for you either! My friend and I made our teacher read it and she loved it also!

Summary: i was afraid of this....
Review: I DID NOT want to read this book! But i was out the door heading for a four hour car ride with only 2 other books that i had already read and didn't really want to read again. My older brother bought this and so i grabbed it one the wayout of the door (litteraly). it was a kids book, and i just wanted to see what all the fuss was about. BUT, i loved it. i couldn't put it down! I read all the other that summer, and am still waiting for 5 to some out. Its really a great book and not just a "kids" book. I highly recomend it to anyone! (even my mom liked it....) Well i hope everyone enjoys it as much as i did, and i highly recommend it!

Summary: HOLY [MOLY]
Review: I didn't even know what all the hype was all about, Man i couldn't take my eyes off this book, and i'm a sophomore in college. It's amazing the things people come up with.!! A+++

Summary: Fabulous! this book deserves infinity out of five stars.
Review: I didn't expect this book to live up to the high reviews that it had. I'm alittle prejudiced about books about boys, and I didn't think anyone could outwrite [my favorite author]. This proves that someone could. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is one of the best books I've read since I discovered the Tamora Pierce books a year ago. The thickness of the book can set some kids off, as can the beginning (it takes a while to "slosh through") but NEVER put the book down until Harry gets to Hogwarts- and then you'll find that you can't. I wish that I could go to Hogwarts! A MUST READ for everyone!

Summary: Excellent - for kids of all ages
Review: I didn't expect to get caught up in this book. I thought it would be cute and that I'd enjoy it and put it down and move on. But, I was totally engrossed in it. It is way more than a kid's story. It's a great book for a person of any age to read and enjoy. I can only equate it to Shrek. I have a 3 1/2 year old stepson and he loves Shrek, but he loves it as a child. I love that movie as an adult. It's the same thing with this book. I loved it from the eyes of a grown up. And, the story awoke many sleeping emotions in me. I forgot what it felt like to feel complete wonder and endless possibility. Harry is a role model for children - he is just, honest, and a good friend. But, he is also a good lesson for adults too - it's important for us to remember to let our hearts lead us and not get caught up in the JUNK that clutters our lives.
Harry Potter is a great character and the book was fantastic. Pick it up and be prepared to smile all the way until the last page.
I have already started the next book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Imaginative and great!
Review: I didn't get around to reading the series until after I saw the movie. I regret stalling.

The first book in the series is almost the same as the movie. You do miss some detail if you don't read the book, like the sorting hat's song.

In the first adventure, Harry Potter doesn't know much about magic at all. He's not even aware of his fame in the wizarding world of Himblemimble. He finds himself accepted to Hogwarts' School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He of course accepts the invitation since he lives with terrible foster parents. He has many adventures at school. If you like reading mystery or fantasy, you'll like Harry Potter.

Adults, this isn't just a kids book, and you'll be able to pick up on a little Latin and Greek from the spell words that they use.
