Rating: Summary: A MASTERPIECE! Review: I am a french speaker from Quebec and i started to read it inenglish to improve mine...This book is really really good, everydetails, every pages are so interesting...they just keep you to read and read over and over. The characters are so funny and so different to each other. The magical world that Harry lives in is so sumptous, splendid...it is so good to be in another world, mood for half an hour, in a magical world where there is every fantasies and dreams. And for the mystery of the plot, so well done. This book really deserves all the mediatic importance that it had This book is suitable for every age, I am 16 (i tought first that this will be a boring childish story, and I WAS WRONG!) , i recommend it a lot to people who are learning english as their second language (in a advanced level tough), this book is not too tough but the vocabulary is so well-chosen, you can learn a lot while having fun And that was my review, lol!
Rating: Summary: Fat kids getting picked on because of this book Review: I am a girl in high school, and my little brother told me a story about what happened in his sixth grade, where everyone is totally hooked on this series. There are a few fat kids in his class, and he says that everyone mocks them and calls them "Dudleys" because the fat character in Harry Potter, who is really mean, is named Dudley. I think the author should have showed more sensitivity. Does anyone else agree? What if the mean kid was black or Jewish or Mexican? Everyone would have gotten really mad.
Rating: Summary: i feel like i am in Griffindor!!!! Review: I am a gr88 fan of Harry potter. At first i was'nt keen on reading it but i had to write a book review for my school on any book of my choice.. so i chose harry potter. the 1st chapter of the 1st book was very interesting and but in the middle it got a little boring but then it became interesting again and i coundnt put it down. i had started in the beginning of my vaction and by now i am in the middle of the 4th book(the goblet of fire). the day i finish a harry potter i bring the next one. i am sure that i will finish the 4th book before my holidays finish. In the movie i almost cried when at the end Hagrid gave him the album which contined his parents snaps. the Quidditch match in which griffindor won (always)is the best part. Mr. Rowling is the best author in the whole world. i loved all the harry potter series . And the best part of the movie is when the griffindor won the house cup instead of sltherrin. thanking you,
Rating: Summary: If there was an option for 10 stars that's what I would give Review: I am a graduate student and had to read the book for a class. I started it yesterday and stayed up late into the night to finish it. I don't understand why anyone would want to keep this book from children. The book had mystery, suspense, action, humor, and morals. What more could a kid ask for? I kept hearing all this hooplah surrounding the book, and I couldn't figure out why. Now I know. It's a tremendously entertaining read, and it reminds me of the books I loved to read when I was a kid. I'm not embarrassed to admit this, but I'm eager to read the next books in the series. Me, a college student....
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter is a great read for people of all ages! Review: I am a high school student. I have read all three of the Harry Potter books. All of them are really great books. Harry Potter has taken all of Massachusetts by STORM! Everyone is reading it here. The first Harry Potter book is my personal favorite, but everyone else I've talked to seems to prefer the third one. Someone new to the world of Harry Potter probably wants to know what it is like: think Roald Dahl; hilarious and magical (but we wish it were true! ) If you are looking for any book to read, especially if you read to your kids..., Harry Potter is certainly a MUST!
Rating: Summary: For All Ages! Review: I am a lawyer in my mid-30's with 2 kids, and I love the Harry Potter books! I found myself staying up nights to finish them. I can't wait til my kids are old enough to read the books too. They are fun & lively without being violent or risque. My only complaint is the next book isn't out yet.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down Review: I am a school teacher who has been hearing all about the Harry Potter craze. My students have been so excited about the series , so I thought I had better get reading to see what it is all about. I have just finished the first book , and I have to say that I was captivated throughout. I highly recommend this book to all readers, young and old. I can't wait to read the next book!
Rating: Summary: Literally, a book for everyone. Review: I am a senior in college and I LOVED this book. I could not put it down. It evoked such creative and imaginative thoughts. This is definitely a book that all kids would like to read and would want to read. Buy it for yourself or for anyone you know who reads.
Rating: Summary: Thank you J. K Rowling Review: I am a seventy-two year old grandfather and Ms. Rowling has brought back my youth. I have ordered two sets for my grandchildren as Christmas gifts but I don't know how I will contain myself from giving these books earlier than planned. After reading HP & the Sorcerer's Stone, I became very nostalgic and it brought back memories of when I first discovered the magic of bookss and I hope that this love of reading will be transferred to my grandchildren. I am looking forward to reading the next two books in this series.
