Summary: Terrific
Review: I am 34 years old and finally decided to read this book because my 10 year old daughter is enchanted by it. She has read each in the series several times. I thought that I would struggle through it (as I've done with the C.S. Lewis series that she also adores), but I was very pleasantly surprised. I have read all three in the series and look forward to the fourth release. The characters are well developed and the plot is not entirely based on magic -- there is real human drama and truth about adolescent trials. Parents will enjoy reading this book and they will enjoy the peacefulness of a house without the blare of the tv.

Summary: Incredible book that left me craving more and more!!
Review: I am 34 years old and hadn't even heard of Harry Potter. Then, for my son's 12th birthday, my brother sent him this book. I decided, one rainy Sunday, to sit down and have a peek. Well, with the first page I was totally hooked and couldn't put the book down. I finished it that afternoon. Now, I'm reading it to my son (who absolutely loves it and says he reads too slow and really needs to find out what happens next so we pick up where ever he leaves off). It's magic happening right before my eyes. My son NEVER reads.. NEVER.. he hates it. But, because of Harry Potter he's reading! And he wants the other two! Thank you for such a pleasing book. What a wonderful thing to pass down for many generations to come!

Summary: A Parent's Perspective
Review: I am 37 years old and the mother of three boys 14, 12, & 9. My Mom sent all three books to my boys for Christmas. My 11 year old devoured the first two before the holidays were over. I started reading book one not really knowing what to expect and I finished all three books within four days. I was up until 1:00 a.m. finishing the Prisoner of Azkaban. What a wonderful gift J.K. Rowling has. I want to offer my personal thanks to this author for creating a book my children LOVE to read! We've had some great discussions about the adventures Harry goes through. About how cruel people can be to those they deem different than themselves. These books have opened up a whole new line of communication between myself and my children.

Anyone who can view these books with anything less than total enthusiam are missing the point. The reviews by the youngsters show just how much this series is loved by young and old alike.

What I wouldn't give to watch a real Quidditch match! Try one of Hagrid's rock cakes and pet Buckbeak, explore the secret passages of Hogwart's, catch that fiendish rat Scabbers, who has deceived Ron and caused Harry such sorrow.

I sincerely hope Harry will soon be able to live with his God-Father and get away from those awful Dursley's. Three cheers for Albus Dumbledore and the rest of the teaching staff. Please fire Professor Snape!

Keep up the good writing, well written children's fantasy books are hard to find. As for the violence, go back and look at some of the original Grimm's fairytales...before condeming. BRAVA!

Summary: Great fantasy
Review: I am 40 years of age, lives in Hong Kong and have two children age 8 and 7. I am an avid reader myself indulging in fantasy, science fiction, action, detective and any sort of novels I can get my hands on. I read Rowling's books to my children as an ongoing thing from Enid Blyton. And I have been very pleased with the reception I received. My son could not wait the next night for me to read the next chaper. So he decided to read the book himself...and finished it and the next 2 books. It is absolutely fabulous escapism and I must recommend Ms Rowling on her turn of phrases that appeal to such a wide audience that I enjoy the books myself and finished the books before my bedtime reading to the children. We are now eagerly awaiting her next installment. And with bated breath hope that Harry will show the brilliance that Dumbledore expects of him in his fourth year at Hogwarts.

Summary: Absolutely fantastic book for any age!!
Review: I am 47 years old and loved this book. It was interesting, fast paced, and easy to read and follow. Definitely would recommend it to all. I read the 2nd book immediately after finishing this one, and have the 3rd on order.

I was so impressed with the book, that I plan on ordering all 7 to read and to keep. What a collection this will be.

Summary: Not really for children
Review: I am 52. I liked the book a lot. I'm reading them all, even though the news says that J.K. Rowling may have borrowed very heavily from a 1984 book of someone else's. Still, the books are great fun. I feel, however, that certain things are not for children's hearts and minds. For example, at least three times in this book, malevolent characters sneer at Harry Potter that his parents died violent deaths and that they deserved it. This in my mind is not fare for eight years olds. It is fairly violent and scary reading for youngsters. I'm having a great time reading them all, but I won't give it to any children I know.

Summary: fun for all
Review: I am 58 years old and I enjoyed this book so much that one of my daughters, bought me the audio tape, to listen to. My son is 32 years old, he listened to it and also loves it. J.K. Rowling, could not have picked a better person, Jim Dale, to read her books.....Go for it, its worth it.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Review: I am 8 years old and I think Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is an extraordinary book.I think it's the best book in the series so far because it's the scariest. I think the last book in the series should be called Harry Potter versus Draco Malfoy.

Summary: This book rocks!
Review: I am 8 years old and I think Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is the best book I have ever heard of or read. I am half way through the 2nd Harry Potter book and I like it as much as the first one. My parents like them as much as I do especially because now I read more. I heard from my friend at school that there were going to be 7 books. I hope there are more! I just gave my friend the 3rd book for his 9th birthday and now he has all 3!!! My parents just surprised me with the 3rd book this evening. Most of the kids at school love these books.
