Summary: Nothing but perfection
Review: How could anyone think this book denotes evil and witchcraft? How could anyone throw this book into a fire at a burning?

This book is NOTHING but unfaced, unquestioned perfection. The characters become so defined you can actually predict their every move. The description is so vivid that it is only questioned by Tolkien. The plot is so flawless that even if you split hairs, you would find nothing but nothing.

If anyone remotely likes fantasy, READ THIS NOVEL. I recommend it with the highest possible recommendation.

Summary: A rather mysterious world!
Review: How did Harry Potter, a very famous wizard, end up living with a spoiled bratty cousin, an extremely strict aunt, and a cruel and harsh uncle? What tragedy caused him to be in such a predicament? How does he handle being with the Dursleys? What makes Harry so special? Will he fit in at Hogwarts school of magic? Finally, what will Harry do if he ever meets the powerful wizard who left him scarred? Harry does everything from finding a home for a baby dragon and taking down a mountain of a troll to defeating his arch-nemesis. J.K. Rowling does a superb job describing every single nook and cranny in this enchanting world of magic. She does an excellent job interweaving subplots into a spell-binding fantasy. This is a mystical adventure full of a wide variety of spells, magical creatures, and mighty sorcerers. With all the magic used, it is impossible to correctly predict what will happen next. Though each descriptive chapter ends smoothly, the suspense and cliffhangers push you to read further. Do yourself a favor and read this wonderful fantasy, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. You'll be glad you did!

Summary: why did I ever resist?
Review: How in the world could a children's book really be *THAT* good? What was it that made children, college students and adults all sing the praises of a....children's book? I dismissed it and went on with life.

Then one evening a family member rented the movie for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I fought it even with the TV on....oh wait...that looked interesting...oh no...I'M ENJOYING IT!!!!!!! The next day I bought the first book, it couldn't be that bad, but it still couldn't be as good as everyone said.

I Bought books 2 - 4 the next day even though I hadn't finished 1.

It's almost impossible to put into words what it is that makes you get so wrapped up in the story. Maybe it is the little slivers of things untold (what is Snape's connection to the Potters? What is the history of Hogwarts? etc), maybe it is the fact you could see yourself as a child devouring this book.

The settings are richly unfurled before you, the emotions are vibrant and the characters are...words can't begin to describe how well you feel you know them when this story has come to an end. I have walked away from many books feeling as if I have not learned one thing about the characters, or gotten to know them in any meaningful way. With the Sorcerer's Stone I came away caring for the characters, analyzing their motivations and most of all, wanting to see what else their time in the wizarding world would hold for them.

Ms. Rowling has created a rich and full tapestry of a world. While this book works perfectly well on it's own, you do get the feeling you have just gotten your foot in the door of Hogwarts and you must contiue down the path she has set to see just what it is she has planned for us.

Summary: I want an owl like Hedwig!
Review: How much fun can you have with a book? A whole cauldron full!! I am 40+ (no kids) and have thoroughly enjoyed this series of books. Some of my fellow MBA classmates were reading the Harry Potter books while we were finishing our final semester in grad school and I see now why they sometimes let the required reading go by the wayside. Fortunately, I finished school before Christmas and gave myself the wonderful gift of all five books in the series. I am actually half-way through the final book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and I am both terribly excited and horribly sad about coming to the end. I most assuredly endorse this tome along with the four that follow. What a wonderfully magical, frighteningly fabulous ride!

Summary: The best book I've ever read
Review: How would it make you feel if you lived under the stairs and had no friends? How would you feel if your parents died and you were sent to live with your aunt and uncle who lie to you about your parents past? Finally, how would you feel if a man you had never seen before show up on your birthday and told you every secret that your aunt and uncle have been keeping from you? This is the enchanting story of a boy who lost his parents due to an evil wizard and is sent to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to become a great wizard and uncover his past. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is an excellent book and a great read for everyone, even if you hate to read. J.K. Rowlings ability to keep the reader interested and guessing is amazing. She has the ability to tell great stories that will interest all age levels. I have not come across one person who has read this book and not fallen in love with it. It is a fast read and the pages will seem to fly by. If you read one book in your lifetime make it Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone.

Summary: Harry Potter should just disappear
Review: Hype is like a Tsunami, it's a massive relentless wave that swallows everyone whole. I tried reading the first book and couldn't get through it; the writing is so bad, so unoriginal. I didn't care about any of the charecters. How is it that these books are so popular? Even the movies are slow and were it not for the special effects there would be nothing to look at. And the house names: Slitheren? I'm glad J.K. Rowling is out of poverty, good for her. Now she should try, I mean REALLY TRY to write something exciting. Something that leaves the reader breathless, something that doesn't make me want to wave a magic wand and make the whole series vanish.

Review: I absolutely love this book and the 2nd book in the Harry Potter series, and absolutely cannot wait until the 3rd book in this series come out in a couple of days!! These books are brilliantly written and are so intriguing and interesting that I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it! There are so many twists and turns in this book, and it keeps you guessing until the very end! I absolutly loved it, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to read an exciting book.

Summary: This book is awesome. I absolutely LOVE it.
Review: I absolutely LOVE this book. I read it consistently for about 4 days because I was so involved. I really like how the plan between the teachers was so twisted. I thought that the ending of the book was going to be a big disaster, But it turned out O.K. It was fascinating how Ms.Rowling dicribed the game and field of "Quidditch". My favorite on-going worry in the book was the one sbout the house points and how you had to be cautious about getting in trouble. I loved it.
