Rating: Summary: Entertaining for all ages Review: Harry Potter is a modern-day classic, with all the standard elements. J.K. Rowling's genius is not that she brought these elements together (that we could see every day in the movie theatre or on TV), but that they are dressed in an entirely new way - self-consistent, absorbing, and highly entertaining. This book is the first of the Harry Potter series, where we meet the characters and some of the classic locations for the first time. Harry, the classic Dickensian adopted son, must sleep under the stairs in his aunt and uncle's house, while his cousin has 2 bedrooms: one for himself, one for his toys. Naturally, Harry is the diamond in the rough - his parents were famous witches, and he is a natural with a wand and a broomstick. When he is summoned off to Hogwarts, the best school in England for studying magic, he makes friends and enemies among his classmates and the faculty alike. The book is a re-telling of the standard English Public School tale, simply substituting "Hogwarts" for "Eton," "Quidditch" for "Rugby," and "Potions" for "Chemistry." However, such a simple analysis doesn't do justice to the fun and magic (no pun intended) of the story. This strikes me as an ideal book to read to young children (say, over 5 years old). It's much like a good Disney cartoon - it's enjoyable for the child hearing it, and equally enjoyable for the parent.
Rating: Summary: *It Case A Spell* Review: Harry Potter is a Mystical, Magical, Marvelous book! A great read for anybody, parents and children a like. J.K. Rowling tells a spellbinding story. With characters that dance on the page in front of you. Like Dumbledore, Snape, Hagrid, and of coarse Harry Potter. A lonely ordinary Muggle/Human. Living with his nasty old Aunt & Uncle. Until one day when a mystery letter appeared. Saying he was to report to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by September first to start his classes on becoming a world class wizard. Thus begining Harry Potter's great adventures.....

Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Review: Harry Potter is a novel based on fantasy and variety. The simple structure of the book makes for a easy read but the complex content is stimulating and very enjoyable. Everyone, children, adults, elders, everyone, can relate to the fantasy. Harry Potter brings this mysticle fantasy to each person that each of us tend to grow out of, yet we a capable of connecting with the fantasy and believing it. Honestly, i think that there is noone in in the country who cannot enjoy Harry Potter. With the play on words and mysticle themes Harry Potter can touch even the most conservative adults. Therefore i strongly believe that everyone should take the time to atleast read one of the collection.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Review: Harry Potter is a O.K. book. It wasn't the best I have ever read. The reason I rated it a three is because it was not my kind of book. I read the whole book becasue I thought it would get better but I didn't. Bet that still doesn't make it a bad book. I know a lot of people who like Harry Potter and fantasy type books. And i like real books. Like hatchet that is a based on a true story and that is why I liked that book. Also the River. So thats it.

Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Review: Harry Potter is a really special book. Im a kid who really like books. Harry Potter was a perfect book to start with, reading my whole book shelf. When the book starts off with Harry's rotten aunt and uncles it captured my attention just like my teacher wants me to do. When I finished the book I really wanted to read more which I did. The point is I liked the book.
Rating: Summary: Great start... Review: Harry Potter is a remarkable book that I could not put down. I loved the detail J.K. Rowling put in. Not only that but the way she described life with the Dursleys gave me a good idea of how they treated Harry. The story has a lot of action and adventure. There's also magic and humor. My favorite part in the whole book is when the Dursleys went to the zoo and the snake gets loose. I liked how I could relate to Harry and how his life wasn't going so well at first but he always tried. I also recommend any other books by J.K. Rowling and anything by Robert Stanek.
