Summary: A great fantasy that is not-so-fairy-tale after all.
Review: I read this book for the first time when I was in 9th grade. I'm in 11th grade now, and read it once more for an Independent Literature Survey class in school. Our assignment was to read a book in the "Young Adult" genre. I never imagined I would ever read a 435 page book (much less a 700+ page book such as the "Goblet of Fire") but I did. I never fathomed that a book would still be suspensful the second time around. Nevertheless, Ms. Rowling does a fantastic job of keeping her readers on the edge of their couch cushion no matter if it's their 1st, 2nd, or 11th time reading the story.
The book opens as it usually does on Harry's birthday. Harry has now turned 13 and it's hard to imagine all the things that he has done before he is even a teenager. Harry is, as he always is, counting down the days to when he'll be able to reture to his beloved school, Hogwarts, and see his best mates, Ron and Hermione. There has been buzzing about London and it's surroundings due to a sighting of Sirius Black, an escaped convict from Azkaban, the terrible wizard prison. Harry finds out that of all people Black wants to catch up with, he is that person. When Harry finally reaches Hogwarts, along with all his class work, he also has to worry about Black getting in and doing what ever it is that he wants to do to Harry. With a little help from his old friends, and some new ones, Harry is pit to the task of solving his biggest mystery yet.
I would say thtat the ideal audience for the book are those between the ages of 13-20. Because some of the concepts the book conveys, I fear that anyone younger than 13 may not grasp the whole idea the book tells.
I loved the book. That fact that is was the second time and it was so hard to put down really says a lot about Rowling's abilities as a great novellist.
The emotions the book evoke are so varied. At one moment, you may be able to feel the rush of excitment during a Quidditch match, the next moment you are filled with complete confusion and relief as you finally solve a mystery that's been plaguing you for the last 200 pages, and the next moment, you are filled with happiness and laughter as you read through Ron's latest mishap and reach the end of yet another great, great book with a great, great ending.
I would recommend this book to anyone who has an open mind aobout things that may exist, but may not be seen. You can, by all means, ignore my age recommendation because anyone and everyone above the age of 20 would thoroughly anjoy this book. Everyone can relate to someone or something in this book. Harry is famous and an extraordinary person, but he has had many hardships in his life. That is what makes these books not-so-fairy-tale like. I love this book! Please read it!

Summary: A great read!
Review: I read this book in one night--I couldn't put it down! J.K. Rowling has a real gift for blending the issues that kids deal with--being unpopular because you're different, competition, difficult home situations--with a gift for storytelling that will enthrall even it's most educated readers. Definitely the best in the series so far.

Summary: Couldn't Wait
Review: I read this book in two days. Whenever I put it down, it was always on my mind. I've never had a series of books do this to me. I can't wait to read the fourth. I held off on the third book because I knew once I got started it would be very difficult to put it down! I am now and always be a HUGE fan of Harry Potter books. Don't really need to elaborate on the story as so many readers have already in their reviews.

Summary: These books are the BEST!
Review: I read this book over the summer right before school started and I loved it. Now that school has started I have seen at least 10 people reading these great books. I know that doesn't seem to be a big thing but to see alot of 8th graders reading these books is cool I think. I don't think there should be an age limit for these books, my mother read the first one and now she loves it! We both like Hermione most out of all the charaters! Everyone should read these books. You'll be missing out if you don't.

Summary: The series just keeps improving in every way!
Review: I really admire Ms. Rowling's writing style. The characters mature every year - with every book, Harry increases his understanding of his sense of self, his powers, his history, and his place in the wizarding community. Speculation on a future book, possibly the year of Harry's graduation: I wish I were Ginny Weasely.

Summary: Exciting, Entertaining, and a nice easy read
Review: I really enjoy the Harry Potter series (thus far to the third book), I read this one in a night it was so suspenseful. My one problem with it is the fact is even though it is aimed at smaller children there should be a deeper undelying message. (If there is one, I applaud you Rowling for its subtlty). So read it if you want a fun read, but if you want true literature, look further.

Summary: My son can't wait till the 4th one comes out
Review: I really enjoy these books. My son who is 15 has read all 3 of them. I am really glad that threre are books that my son can read. He hardly watches TV anymore because he reads a chapter every day. When he finishes he starts it over. These books have helped my son be interested in reading. I am very thankful for these books. My son doesn't care that it is for 10-14 year olds. he really likes it.

Summary: HARRY POTTER IS THE COOLEST GUY EVER!!
Review: I really enjoyed "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". It was an exciting and suspenseful book. I anxiously awaited the puplication of this book after reading the first two "Harry Potter's". I was not at all disappointed; the third one was every bit as intriguing as the preceding books. Plus, it was substantially longer than the others, which I was very happy about. One of my favorite parts of "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" was when Harry learned more about his past. He learns a little more in each book, but after completing the third book he knew a great deal about his parents. This book also brought up interesting magic, the most intriguing imaginative yet so far. This was especially apparent in a gift that Harry's friend's twin brothers, Fred and George Weasley, give to Harry in the book. It, of course, provides a way for Harry to get into lots of mischief. However, it also proves useful to his survival, so its a good thing they gave it to him. I would definately recommend this book to anyone. However, I think it is probably more enjoyable if you read the first and second "Harry Potter's" first. I will probably read this book several more times, and I can't wait for J.K. Rowling to write the next one.
