Summary: Adult Harry Potter Fan...
Review: I haven't read a children's book in over 15 years and only ordered the first of the Harry Potter books after I read articles about the series from Newsweek and Business Week. Felt sort of strange reading the book in the corporate cafeteria...but after finishing the first two and then the most recent book, The Prisoner of Azkaban, I have started to recommend the books to my colleagues...whether or not they have children. Reading these books are a fantastic way to escape reality and regain/relive the creativity of your youth. I recommend them all to anyone and everyone...and look forward to the next four years of quidditch matches. PS...A friend asked me if it was written in a style which was too "juvenile" for an adult. I must confess that I have had to look up 3 words in the dictionary. I love it! Thanks to the author for respecting the intelligence of readers between 6 and 98!!! My only regret is being too old to enter the Harry Potter Magical Candy Contest!!!

Summary: They'll Make Another Good Movie FromThis One,
Review: I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books, but I finally got around to seeing some of the 1st movie, "Harry Potter and the Swordswallower's Secret" or something, and I must say that the little bit that I saw was highly entertaining. Among my favorite scenes were where he's playing Quickidge with that little ball with the fast wings, and when they fight with that Shrek looking thing, and also when Bumbledeedumble changes from a cat to an old lady. And I caught a little bit of the 2nd movie, "Harry Potter and the Lord of The Rings" I think it was, on a plane a few months ago. I was pretty tired and couldn't stay interested through the whole movie, but I remember the scene where Harry's freind vomits giant slugs and when they get attacked by giant spiders. So I'm thinking this "Harry Potter and the Poison of Uzbekistan" is going to make a great movie. I read the synopsis, and it says Harry makes a lady inflate with air and she flies up toward the ceiling and also the escaped prisoner is throwing around some balls of fire or something - should make for some more nice special effects. And I look forward to seeing all the intrigue Harry and his pals get into at the Hedgeworths School of Wormery this time. The Harry Potter books have really got me interested in reading books again, which I didn't think was possible.

Summary: Wonderful!!
Review: I haven't read such a riveting series in a long time. I am 31 years old and have always enjoyed children's books, and this is one of my fav. series...can't wait for the next one!!

Summary: This book is wonderful!
Review: I heard about this series from a review in our local paper and decided to get a copy as an incentive for my 8 year old son, who is reluctant to read. It is a little advance for him, but I read a chapter a night to him. He was very anxious every night for his "Potter Fix". It has really sparked his interest, and I loved reading it too!

This a wonderful book, and I hope to get more of the series. Not only is the story imaginative and clever, but the language is advanced enough to increase the child's vocabulary.

Summary: Its the best book Ive ever read!
Review: I heard so many good things about Harry Potter. After hearing more and more...I just came home went to my computer, and ordered them all from amazon. I just loved the first one. And the second one was great! But the third one was "DA BOMB"!!!!!!!!! J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter books are ny favorite! I really liked it in the 3rd book when Harry thinks he might not have to live with the Dursleys in the summer any more and he could live with Siris Black, his godfather.

Summary: Wonderful book! no violence encouraged at all.
Review: I heard some people talking about how this book should be banned because it promotes violence. That was before i had read the book myself and when i did i had no clue what they were talking about. this book is perfectly written, and seeing as i am a kid myself,i think i would know if it was promoting violence or not. It is a great book, and if you havent bought it yet you should....now!

Summary: Better than Year 2!
Review: I heartily enjoy the Harry Potter Books and this is my favorite one yet (at least until I read year 4)! Unlike the second year, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, this book starts at a very quick pace and never lets up! I checked the book out from the library and read completely through it in one sitting! Considering the fact that this is a 400+ page book, that was quite an accomplishment!

Do not make the mistake of thinking this book is only for kids. I am thirty years old and am nearly finished getting a degree in physics. Anyone who has not lost their memories of childhood or their sense of the wonder in the world can find the appeal of these books!

Summary: The best book so far (of the first 5)!
Review: I highly recommend this book for all readers of all ages. However, I suggest you read the first two books to help put this one in context. Rowling's style of writing is simple and straightforward but you forget you're reading "a children's book." The story and the separate world she creates will suck you in and keep you wanting more. The hero of the story is just a regular kid (aside from the fact that he's a wizard) and is someone we can all relate to. For this reason we care what happens to him, and we want to see what he does in each situation because we wonder if we would react the same way.

I found this book to be the most enjoyable of the first five simply because it's the most fun. The last 30 pages are the best. I've read it again and again. You learn more about the wizarding world, more characters are created for you to get to know and love (or hate). On the first read the ending doesn't seem to make much sense but the second time around it all comes together, perfectly planned and constructed (I don't want to give anything away, so just read it!).

One of the things I love about this series is that the books are also marvelously constructed mysteries. You start to see a pattern after the second book and each one you read afterwards you wonder "Where's the surprise this time?" I try to guess it each time and each time I'm completely taken unawares. Each book has an ending you never would have suspected, but on a second read you realize how well it was all planned, and can't believe you never saw it coming. This one is no exception, and in fact is even better planned than the first two. A second read is also recommended.

Another thing done well in this book is the character development and aging of the characters. Even on the cover, you can tell Harry looks a little bit older. His thoughts and actions are more mature and you get to watch all the kids grow up. After awhile you feel like they are your friends.

Bottom line: stop reading reviews of this book and read the book itself! You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Another outstanding Harry Potter book!
Review: I just could not put this book down! It's longer, and more has more evil in it then the first two books! It's brilliant! Azkaban is a high-security wizard prison, which is impossible to escape from. Until now. Sirius Black has escaped and he's on the loose. Dementors have been sent to guard hogwarts, and even though all the hogwarts students hate going near them, they seem to have a very dramatic and dangerous effect on Harry alone. This book is really outstanding, and it keeps you guessing right until the end!

Summary: Hooked on Harry
Review: I just finished reading "The Prisoner of Azkaban" and was totally engrossed from start to finish. There are new modes of magical transportation, advanced spellwork, malicious characters and tense moments at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. But the worst thing is the presence of a dangerous escaped prisoner who seems to be hunting for young Harry Potter. As Harry enters his third year, new priviledges are dangled like carrots in front of third-years' noses, such as visiting Hogsmeade, a magical village full of quaint shops and pubs. Harry gets there by inheriting a magical map. The book keeps you glued to its pages until the final plot twist as if you are under a charm to read it as quickly as possible. (And you thought Scabbers the Rat was just Ron Weaseley's pet?) Readers are advised to purchase the companion books of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and "Quidditch Through the Ages" to sort out some of the magical beasts this book has to offer. There is a no-holds-barred Quidditch match too, for readers who like sports. Harry, Ron and Hermione face fearsome foes, using all their wizarding skills, and readers wonder how they can elude the nefarious Professor Snape again and again. But the real danger comes in the form of Sirius Black, a character from the past who seems to be stalking young Harry. Can Hogwarts protect their students from this mad escaped prisoner? Can Hagrid protect his pet Hippogriff Beaky from the law? Can Malfoy succeed in getting Hagrid arrested? Can Harry's teachers train him well enough in spellwork to ward off the evil dementors? You've gotta read this book before proceeding to the fourth Harry Potter adventure.
