Rating: Summary: A Book to Get your Kids to Read! Review: I am the mother of three children as well as a teacher. My 10 yr old son hated to read. We started reading the first Harry Potter book when it came out and he was hooked. We read a couple of chapters together whenever we could. We are still reading #2 2gether, but I read on ahead and let me tell you, #3 is the BEST! I have read it twice alone and can't wait to get to it with my son. These books have made a reader out of my son and we enjoy reading them together. The characters are wonderful and the action is addicting. All the students that I read these books with also love Harry. The Harry Potter series is a parent and teacher's dream! We just can't wait for #4. My daughters' are 4 and 7 and these books are still a little over both of their heads. But for kids 10 and up, Harry is a hit.
Rating: Summary: Unexpected Delight Review: I am well into adulthood and had not bought into all of the Harry Potter hype. I guess I believed the critics who said that these stories were not as good as their marketing. My mother gave me this audio book narrated by Jim Dale and just to give myself a break from public radio, I poped it in while cleaning one night. How shocked I was to find myself totally absorbed in the story. I began to think about the characters throughout the day and wondering what was going to happen next. I was especially impressed with the detail and intricacies of the ending. The suspense almost killed me and the conclusion of this book left me with a desire to read all of the books in the series immediately.
Rating: Summary: Best yet, fast paced and keeps you guessing until the end. Review: I am well outside the selected age range (31) yet have been thoroughly absorbed with all 3 of the Harry Potter adventures. The third instalment is absolutely rivetting and a compelling page turner. I was up well into the early hours unable to go to sleep until I had discovered the final outcome. 'The Prisoner continues and develops the themes and characterisation from the earlier adventures and hits you with an amazing finale. The pace and suspense in 'The Prisoner..' is far better than the first 2 adventures, because of the added depth this adventure brings to all of the chracters, Harry, the Weasleys and Hermoine and Professor Snape. Develops the background and history to Harry and his parents. Whatever you do, read or be read this 3rd adventure of Harry Potter (preferrably after the first 2) and then as I do, await with baited breath and impatience for the next installment.
Rating: Summary: Not Just for Children Review: I became addicted to the Harry Potter series after reading the first one to my son and I have to say, "Prisoner of Azkaban" is the best of the trio. J.K. Rowling's novel are not just for children. This latest addition begins with Harry on summer vaction from Hogwarts and ends up answering some very important questions. Why does Snape hate Harry so much? What really happened to Harry's parents? And why do the Dementors only affect Harry? I confess, I am a grown adult who is completely hooked on the Harry Potter series and cannot wait for the fourth book to hit the shelf
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER! #1 Review: I BET EVERY SINGLE BOOK IN THE WHOLE WORLD PUT TOGETHER WOULD'NT BE AS GOOD AS "HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN!" I'VE READ IT 9 TIMES! IT'S MAGNIFICENT,GREAT,SUPERB, WONDERFUL, AND EXELLENT! IT'S THE BEST BOOK EVER WRITTEN IN T6HE HISTORY OF THE WHOLE WORLD! I JUST WISH THAT J.K.ROWLING WOULD WRITE FASTER.
Rating: Summary: Another great Potter tale from Rowlings Review: I borrowed this, the third Harry Potter book, from my fiance's niece. As with the previous two, I found it a thoroughly enjoyable read. In this tale, Harry and his friends (Ron and Hermione) find underground tunnels that lead to all manner of adventures. We see some new faculty members at Hogwarts, including a new professor for Defense Against the Dark Arts who proves to be not-quite-as-he-seems. There are several interesting plot twists involving Harry and his family, both Muggle and Magic, that came as a real surprise. As with many books of this sort, I don't want to give away plot details. Suffice to say that you will find this book a delight.
Rating: Summary: Buy this book and 2 prequels as well. Review: I bought all 3 HP books and read all of 'em in 5 days. I couldn't put them down! Prisoner holds its own against its 2 prequels and story line is simply too entertaining. Author has a way of writing from HP's perspective only and never cuts away from him so story line is very easy to follow. This review is from a 28 year old male and I can proudly say I am HP fan.
Rating: Summary: WILD ABOUT HARRY! Review: I bought the 1st Harry Potter book for my 9 year old son, and we started reading it out loud. After he went to bed, I finished Sorceror's Stone and Chamber of Secrets, staying up until 3 AM to do so, and couldn't wait until this book hit the stores. It was well worth the wait! Incredibly complex, wonderfully written, kept me guessing to the end. I can't wait to the next year at Hogwarts!
Rating: Summary: Spectacularly captivating! Review: I bought the 3 book set after hearing JK Rowlings on NPR and found Azkaban to be by far the most spellbinding. I wondered if I could enjoy these books but even middle age did not dispell the magic of her writing. My last thoughts after closing the book for last time was how I would make it another year for Harry's 4th year at Hogwarts. Harry is not the only one hoping for a quick return to school!
Rating: Summary: The Best Book EVER! Read it 1,000 Times! Review: I bought the book in December '99'. I knew I would Like it because it was Harry Potter. I didn't like it. I LOVED IT! anyone who doesn't like this book or the other two are dumb. They have no appreciation for the best book in the world.Harry is beging his third year at his magical school, Hogwarts. It turns out, a infamous prisoner of Azkaban has broken free! Everyone belives he is out for Harry. I'm not saying anymore because your just going to have to read it to find out the rest.
