Summary: Fave of the First Four
Review: This year of Harry's schooling starts out odd. Before he even gets to Hogwarts he blows up his aunt, flees to Diagon Alley on a bus, used magic, and finally finds out that there are creatures roaming outside of his school that he's afraid of! When he gets near one of these Dementors, he hears screams, Vorldemort, and every emotion in his body turns into a cold, lonley, empty feeling. Luckily, he has a new Defense-Against-the-Dark-Arts teacher who's willing to help Harry as much as possible. Though this teacher, Proffesor Lupin, helps him, there's something that he's hidding from the student that he's teaching.
Before the year is over, Harry, Ron, and Hermionie find themselves face to face with a criminal by the name of Sirus Black. He tries to explain to Harry and the others what happened the night that Harry's parents were killed by taking Ron's rat and turning it into the person that he really is, Peter Pettigrew. The truth is revealed and, just as they were going to explain it to the athorities, Peter escapes when Lupin transforms into a werewolf.
My favorite part of the book is when Lupin is about to leave. He sees Harry comming on the Marauder's Map and tells Harry who Prongs, Padfoot, Moony, and Wormtail are. The story comes dowm to he school days of Lupin, Sirus, and Harry's dad. It's a good story that I love to read over and over because I get these types of story's all the time from my parents.
I chose to read this book because I got hooked on the first two Harry Potter books. It looked interesting too!. I looked around for it all over and when I did find it, I read it whenever I had spare time! I can't wait until the 5th book comes out!

Summary: The best of the best!
Review: This, I think, is the best of the series(so far)! Like the others, it makes you wanna read forever! This book makes you think about it, who is causing problems, what's with everyone?, etc. This is the best one of them all and I recomend it to all readers!

Summary: Whoa!
Review: Those books are magic! I can't believe how amazing they are - and I'm in college! I spent hard-earned cash on them in hardcover, cut class to finish "Prisoner" and can't believe that they just keep getting better. And those Muggles in SC are wrong, wrong wrong! give your kid these books and don't worry!

Summary: Fun little adventure.
Review: Though a children's book by name, it by no means is confined to youngsters. I like to consider the Harry Potter Diet Lord of the Rings. While enchanting for the kids, it's actually a fun, interesting read. In fact, it was a perfect way to waste away a great Sunday.

Summary: New Harry Potter book disappointing...
Review: Though I am a avid fan of Harry Potter, I found the latest book disappointing. The plot seems to have lost most of its vibrancy, it's charm, and most important, its wonder. The novelty of a wizard world is wearing off quickly. I was disappointed by the quickie ending that seemed kind of rushed and hurried up. Harry is sinking to the level of his nemesis,Malfoy, by using his Invisibility Cloak to throw mud at him behind his back, and turning his Aunt into a balloon. I only hope the next books improve.

Summary: Wondeful!
Review: Though I very much enjoyed Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I also thought it the worst of the Four. While the orginal holds First Place, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a close second. It holds the reader captivated by the Characters and ever-changing plot. I think readers will enjoy Such aspects as The Maurader's Map and Proffesor Trelawney's Grim predictions. This book may be a little scary for younger readers, but If they can handle it they deffinately won't be let down.

Summary: Rowling's done it again! Another masterpiece.
Review: Though this book seems to be for the lower age levels, it is towards everyone who can dream. there is no stopping Harry, Ron, and Hermione, as they discover more mysteries in HOGWARTS. Is Sirius Black after Harry? How will it end? This is an absolute page-turner. I recommend it to the young, and young at heart.

Summary: My favorite one-a great book for all well-balanced people!
Review: Though this is widely known as the transitional book, I honestly found it to be the most thrilling. It had twists and surprising elements that kept it extremely interesting. Harry is facing harder issues, not just survival and making friends, but questions about what kind of person he is going to be. He has the power to so much and yet he is so young and lacks the parents to guide him or serve as a reference point for who he is. Harry does his best to figure out what his parents were like, but so much is a mystery that he really has to search within himself. His spunk, courage, and loyalty are some of his best natural qualities.

Many people don't like these books because of their magical content or because they feel Harry doesn't respect authority (indeed, that JK doesn't even present one "Authority" in her series). I'm sympathetic to the fears that prompt this concern. The important thing to focus on is that Harry is undoubtedly a good person and his morals are sound. Secondly, these books are getting reluctant readers to read all day long-happily. It is dreadful that some children are being drawn into black magic and voodoo and engaging in bloody rituals but these must be the minority and I cannot imagine that any child with involved parents would go this direction. There are clearly good and bad paths in HP and for the most part the right path is taken. If your child has a proclivity toward practicing dark magic (such that it is) after reading HP then he/she needs some attention. If it wasn't this series it would have been something else. The key is to be in touch with your kids not to shield them from the glut of garbage that is our "pop culture". That is a losing battle. In the end your child will have to be capable of discerning between right and wrong not just kept away from everything deemed evil (this does nothing for their free will anyway). If you see something you feel is wrong, discuss it don't eliminate it. If you know your child and feel they could be tempted into unhealthy activities by these books then by all means, give them something else to read or read them aloud and discuss them. They should not be required reading at a school for this reason but for the general reader they are fabulous!

Summary: A shocking addition to the Hary Potter Series!!
Review: Through the first two Harry Potter books we were amazed by the immagination and creativity that this author has produced. For this novel it is very much the same new characters and creatures are introduced that I believe will have a large effect on the story later on, the history of James is shown a bit more, as well as more of the school. Harry faces some of his toughest challenges yet in this book. Like in the second book many dangers are present off and on the quidditch field. Through reading all of the Harry Potter books up to this point this one is my favorite because of the introduction of these new characters. And with a convicted murderer on the loose you do not know how the story will end.

Summary: Harry Potter review
Review: Title- Harry Potter and the Prizoner Azkaban
Author- J.K. Rowling
Classification- Adventure, Fantasy, Young Adult, Fiction
Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban is about a young boy, Harry Potter, who attends Hogwarts, a school of witchcraft and wizardry. There is and excaped con that has escaped from the wizarding prison, and Harry believes that he is after him. Compared to other books, such as the Hobbit, this book catches a reader's attention right away and holds it throughout the whole book. I thought this was a very good book. It has a lot of mysterious and magical things in it that I love to read about. And the author gives the book so much tension that you just have to turn the page to see what happens next. It shows that here in this passage," The grounds were still and quiet. No breath of wind disturbed the treetops in the Forbidden Forest; the Whomping Willow was motionless and innocent-looking. It looked as though the conditions for the match would be perfect." This passage can be found on page 303 of the book. I really enjoy the authors style of writing. I love to read of adventures of kids close to my age. It's like you get so caught up in the book that you almost feel like you're there. I love how J.K. Rowling writes, how she's so describtive that it makes it possible for you to see the image in your head.
I thought this was a very good book. If you are the type of person who has to have reason behind everything then I don't think this book is for you because this book has a lot to do with magic. But if you are the type of person who loves adventure, fantasy, make believe and other things like that, this book is definetly for you.
