Summary: Who is Scabbers?
Review: Rowling amazes us again. I think I read this book in one day. I couldn't put it down. The true (! ) identity of Scabbers is shocking, amazing, and incredible. Obviously if you've made it this far in the Harry Potter series, you shouldn't stop here!

Summary: Follows a great tradition
Review: Rowling continues to have a hit with Harry Potter. I love the way the character continues to grow. These books follow in the great tradition of John Bellair's The Face in the Frost, Ursula LeGuin's A Wizard of Earthsea, and James Stoddard's: The High House, all of which are quite readable for age 12 on up and filled with similar kinds of excitement. Rowling is one of the greats!

Summary: Simply wonderful!
Review: Rowling did a wonderful job as usual. This book was full of action, adventure and mystery. Kept me hanging on the edge of my seat. Whether young or adult, whether this is your first Potter book or your third, you will be delighted and enchanted by this magical world Rowling has created.

Spoken by a Muggle!!!

Summary: Pure Magic (even a Muggle like me can see it!)
Review: Rowling has done it again! This book is an exceptionally well written book. It is a delightful fantasy (nothing for parents to get their shirts in a wad over)that not only captures the heart and imagination, but also teaches children a lesson or two along the way. Will Harry make it through another year at Hogwarts? Who in the world is Sirrus Black? What about Ron, and Hermione? Will the Dursley family ever see the err in their way? This book is as thrilling as a broomstick ride and as suspensful at a good quidditch match. As far as I'm concerned this is a book that I will read to my elementary classes for years to come! It's an instant classic!

Summary: My kids loved it!
Review: Rowling has his finger (or brain for that matter) on the pulse of what kids love. My children enjoyed this book almost as much as my husband and I enjoyed Erik Quisling's classic "The Angry Clam" (which I highly recommend by the way.)The Harry Potter series is terrific!

Summary: Rowling Wow's us Again!!!
Review: Rowling has not only engaged young children to read . . . on their own accord, but, has adults reading, too. The third series of Harry Potter, Prisoner of Azkaban was another enchanting book. However, I must say that some of the middle portion was weak compared to the first two, hence why only four stars.
Like in the first two, Rowling puts in twists I never would have thought of. Who would have thought Sirius and Scabbers the rat would be up to something?? I do not want to reveal too much if you have not read these wonderful novels. This book gave the reader more history on Harry and his family . . . something I was eager to know more about.
Hermione got much 'page time' which was a treat. She is a wonderful character that is great for young girls to read about. I was shocked to see that she went against the ministry; good girls can be definant and turn out for the good.
I look forward to the fourth book and the adventures that Harry's summer will entail.

Summary: A lot of fun but...
Review: Rowling is amazing for her ability to create an intricately woven series of stories, Dickensian in twist and complication. These are action stories and one should not look for depth or poetry in them. However, sometimes the level of complication derails the action, as when, in this third book, Harry finally meets Sirius Black, and Rowling, in order for Harry and her readers to understand the truth of his parents' death, has a lot of explaining to do, pages of it. In fairness, I think it would be short of miraculous if she were able to keep the action rolling in such a way as to impart the information required. I suspect that young readers will not be too impatient with this, however, knowing from previous books that the action will pick up again.
It occurs to me, speaking of Dickens, that the magical world Harry is increasingly a part of, is in many ways a world lacking in compassion. Prisoners of Azkaban, some of them innocent like Sirius Black and Hagrid (from Book 2)are subject to ghoulishly cruel soul-sucking Dementors. Magical creatures are subject to beheading. Cruel and spiteful professors have tenure.Should it be otherwise? Could it be otherwise?

Summary: AMAZING
Review: Rowling is so good it is unbelievable. This was my favorite of the first three. It definitely had a great plot, and was very twisting in terms of the plot. I was totally flabbergasted about Hermione and her classes. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you are living under a rock. You have to read these books!

Her writing is first-class and she should be given an award for her skills. I have never read a better author than J. K. Rowling. I can't wait for the movie to this book because I enjoyed how she expanded the wizarding world and Harry's work load (I am a nerd, I enjoy school!). I really enjoyed the hippogriffs and the dementors and Crookshanks.

Great book, you must read it or you are clearly a very strange human being!

Summary: Edge of the Seat Thriller
Review: Rowling repeats history, again and combines a creative storywith ingenious writing and the outcome is yet another can't put itdown masterpiece.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A way with words
Review: Rowling sure has a way with word, and the best imagination. This book is as good as the first two if not better :). I loved it! Full of adventure, which is never lacking. I would suggest that everybody of all ages read this book... It's really to good to be true.

If only Rowling could write a bit fast...... :)
