Summary: Another great book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: as all the others, this one is not the exception!!!!
Its great, it has everything, adventure, suspense, humor, and this time a little drama.
For more or less 2 years i waited for this book to come out, and i must say that it was worth the delay.

Summary: Mom still likes Harry
Review: I'm a mom of a daughter who is about a year younger than Harry and the crew. We read the first book together, and ever since the whole family gets in line when a new HP comes out.

Harry is growing up, and so are the books. The author is doing a magnificent job (and it must be hard) of writing to the audience as they mature. Sorceror's Stone was perfect for a 10-11 audience, and now Pheonix is great for our 14-15 audience. So, some younger readers may be feeling left behind. There are sadnesses, and favorite characters show their feet of clay, but kids Harry's age are discovering that anyway. It keeps it real for Harry's diehard fans.

Overall, I must admit I expected Phoenix to be a bit formulaic. It's the fifth book, it took her some time, I thought maybe the author was tired. BUT, to my surprise and satisfaction, the book had many new twists and turns and surprises and kept moving through the entire book. (how much longer can these babies get?) I inhaled the book in 4 days time, and must admit I eagerly await the next.

Summary: Just fine!
Review: Having read some of the reviews here regarding the book I have to say that I'm a little upset. I enjoyed the book and finished it in two days. Many people comment on the fact that Harry's character is too dark and too angry. I do not agree. I see him as finally becoming a true adolescent who feels he is being treated as a child. It is also frustrating to know the truth but have everyone in the world think you're crazy. This book brings out the flaws of Harry Potter's character but also shows his endurance and his bravery. It is not his fautl that the person who dies really didn't have to die. Harry was kept in the dark and made connections on his own as he did in the previous books. They were just the wrong impressions because of Dumbledor's failer to tell Harry very important facts.

This book is darker but that stands to reason. Voldemort is back! It is a dark time; a time very similar to before Harry was born and Voldemort was loose. I also think Rowling made some decisions for her adult readers, which, unfortunatly, left her child readers in the dark or too bored. This is the only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars. This book shows that the characters, even the great Dumbledor, are far from perfect. But the bravery, intelligence, and even some humor can still be found here.

Summary: One of the best books written
Review: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is one of the best books written so far. At first I wasn't interested in Harry Potter, but when Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets came out on DVD I saw it with my family, because a friend recommended it to me. When I finish seeing it, I became interest, and so I bought the first four books of the series. I started to read them, and I couldn't put them down, and when Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, came out, I asked my mother to buy me the book, as my birthday present. And let me tell you, that J.K. Rowling, did a terrific job. At least in my opinion, she has found a way to keep kids, and adults interested in the story. The way a kid, comes out of it's nest and enters adulthood. Even though people think the book is darker than the others. I think is really the way some kid experience the changes in their lives.(I should know, I'm 17 years old.) The book as a very good plot, characters are as good as ever. And the story will keep fans hungry for more.
I can't wait till the other books come out, and I hope that J.K. Rowling keeps up the terrific work she's done so far.

P.S.
I strongly recomend to read all the books in the Harry Potter series, cause once you've read one, you won't be able to put down the others.

Summary: Not up to previous books
Review: I read the first three books straight through with delight, and the fourth in two days with less delight but also great appreciation. This book was a huge disappointment for me. Harry is sullen and angry in a way that doesn't quite fit with his previous books. Unlike reviewers who have said he had more depth, he actually seemed much more stereotyped, two dimensional and unrealistic. Plus, the whole formula for each book keeps repeating -- this book lacked originality, humor and intrigue of other books. I'm starting to tire of endless battles with Voldemort that don't change anything. The thought of having to read TWO more installments of this before it ends is very unappealing! What I enjoyed most in earlier books was the genuine friendship and development between Harry, Ron and Hermione, along with major characters. The sweetness and humor they brought. Now I'm finding the characters more annoying and unsympathetic (especially Harry). The death in this particular book also seemed shocking and unecessary for plot purposes, unless the point is to make Harry as miserable and victimized as possible. I worry that the commercialization of all these books and the subsequent movies that lacked the wit and cleverness of the early books are leading the whole series in a more depressing and unoriginal direction.

Review: When's the next one? An awesome read, a little dark for the younger reader (I'm 37) but well written (as always). Like I said when's #6 due?

Summary: Too much time for JK not enough for Editor
Review: JK took too much time with this one, and her Editor/Publisher, in a rush to get this out, didn't take enough time to edit this book. Over I all, I still liked the story, but it needed to be trimmed down. Great stuff with a lot of "Blah Blah" filling each paragraph. The upside is that most of the "British" speech seems to have been left in. When I first got a copy of the British verison, I was surprised to find many editorial changes. Like parking lot instead of "car park" and sweater instead of "jumper" etc. I don't really think they need to change that stuff anyway. If the author spells color as colour, why change it? I grew up reading books like the "Chronicles of Narnia" without these changes and still managed to understand what was being said. Spend more time trimming down dialogue and description. I am still looking foward to the next one, mostly because I hope it will be better. At least as great as the first four.

Summary: Harry Potter is the best!!!
Review: Well, I loved this book except for the end when my favorite character died. I won't tell you who it is though. It was a great book, I am reading it again. I think it is kind of hard to really accept the changes that were in the book, with the prefects and Voldemort coming back and everything, but you learn to live with it. I am just sad about the person that died. And you will learn to hate a lot of people in the book. Like 6 at the most. But you should buy it. It was really good.
