Summary: Best book ever!
Review: As you can tell from this title, I'm doing the review for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It's going to take a while writing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix over, and over again so, I'm just going to say HP5. Now, into the book. HP5 is about Harry, of course, and his adventures. This book gives so much information it's amazing! It is definitely challenging, but, unbelievable! In this book there is something that will blow you away! So many surprises and, you will meet the worst type of person imaginable but, I can't tell! Be ready to cry, laugh, and scream. I must tell you something that occurs in this will keep your eyes goggling! My favorite part was when Harry broke something very valuable to you know who. Too bad I can't tell you! Looks like you will have to read to find out!

Summary: Pretty Dissapointing
Review: This book was not very satisfactory. I think that J.K. Rowling brought in too many feelings and is starting to make Harry turn into a bad guy. Plus the whole thing about either Harry or Voldemort would die is pretty wierd and sad. Tsk-tsk-tsk

Summary: great book
Review: i'm a woman in her 30's and just love reading the harry potter books..i really enjoyed her 5th book.it took me until the 70 page to remember some of the characters because of the delay in writing her 5th book.i like the idea that all of the characters have matured...i was taken back by the death of sirus. i just hope she brings sirus back in her 6th and 7th books..the book was well written like her other books and very well entertaining..this book along with her others are well worth the money.....

Summary: let's just put this series to bed
Review: By now we have all discovered how much this author "admires" the Lord of the Rings books. Harry and his pals are fluff characters and this series will soon go the way of Cabbage Patch Kids and Tickle Me Elmo~ initial novelties, now annoying. Read the L.O.T.R. saga. It came first and it's the best fantasy story ever. Then, read Harry's drivel, compare notes, see where admiration ends and borrowing begins, and, oh, yeah, make sure you read them from the library, don't waste good money on them.

Summary: CANT GET THROUGH IT
Review: I was so excited when this came out, waiting in line at midnight...but once I started to read it, the excitement turned into a dull thud. I am finding it very hard to get through. Rowling is falling into the trap that Stephen King fell into, producing long, bloated books. I am reading the whole series aloud to my son and have noticed that upon reading them for the second time, they tend to drag. I think the problem is that Rowling is good at writing dialogue but not really good at the aura that makes children's literature so special like the CS Lewis series and "Charlotte's Web" which are filled with richness. I enjoy the books and her imagination but there is a lot of repetition. Harry is constantly getting into trouble and sometimes it's really tedious. I don't know how I will read Book 5 aloud. I was very disappointed in the dragging pages.

Summary: Although more flawed than other HP books, still 5 stars
Review: Order of the Phoenix is an awesome book. Starting with book 4, Rowling has been breaking away from the first 3 books, trying to create a different reading experience. Harry Potter's 1-3 were in the same structure, basically. A unique mix of both action, and a somewhat simple plot. However, book 4 set off to break that chain, with heavy action, but this time, the plot was very deep, which made the book longer than the first 3 books. Not everyone was very thrilled, and younger kids were lost during the plot. This time, with Order of the Phoenix, both plot and action took a back seat to comedy, and terrifying events. Which made a very interesting book. The plot- while there isn't much of it, (it is really a combination of A LOT OF small plots,) Harry is seeing things through Voldemort's eyes. Harry's and Voldemorts minds are linked, and Harry must stop this connection. Meanwhile, a new professor, Umbridge, is sent by Cornelius Fudge to keep an eye on Hogwarts, and run it herself. She soon makes life a living nightmare for people at Hogwarts. Then, Harry and his friends form a group, "Dumbledore's Army" to train themselves in the Dark Arts, which Umbridge fails to teach them.

Those are basically the plots, and the book is nearly impossible to put down. All adding up to a HUGE climax, loaded with A LOT OF STUFF. A lot of action. I mentioned comedy; every time Umbridge has a scene, it is a hilarious one. The way Harry interracts with her, the way the other teachers do, etc. make for hilarious situations. And her fate is kind of funny too, but in a serious way. (if that makes any sence)

I did say this book had it's flaws, and I will list them.

1. Length- I had no problem with the length of Goblet, because every sub-plot, every event, every character was necessary to the story. Order of the Phoenix, however, definately has some scenes that could have been removed. For example, when Harry's not at Hogwarts, (particularly at the beginning of the book,) it is very slow. We understood that Harry was in trouble at the beginning of the book; did we need to have him attend a trial for it? We understood how things worked at Sirius's house; did we have to have the dull moments that occured there? I'd say the book would have been shorter than Goblet if they cut some of these early scenes out. But maybe this was what Rowling was worried about. Maybe she figured, "well, they waited so long for book 5. They may be dissipointed if it's not a long book." Trust me, J.K. Rowling, nobody would really care if it was a little shorter, espechily at the beginning of the book.

2. Character developement- where is it? Is it just me, or did we not see enough of Hagrid? The book seemed mostly focused on Harry, and Dumbledore's Army, but we didn't see enough of Hagrid, and even Ron didn't seem as funny as he was in the past books. Hermione's house elf efforts were old in book 4; did we really need them in book 5? She's 15 now; shouldn't she have gotten over this by now? Many of the characters just seem re-used from Goblet, with a few alterations. Malfoy is almost non-existant in this book, and while this was probably done to make Umbridge the main villain, I would really have liked to have more of Malfoy in the book. And new characters like Luna Lovegood are un-memorable at best. However, Neville and Ginny developed nicely.

3. One more thing; the past books seemed to be making fun of fortune-telling, regarding it as imprecise, and completely fake. But in this, the plot twist at the end puts a heavy emphasis on fortune telling, which is weird, because suddenly, it's being taken seriously. I would never have thought it would be, after reading books 3 and 4.

That's really it. It was an awesome book. While it had some minor flaws that the other books simply did not have, this book was much harder to put down than the others, and this book definately still qualifies as a 5-star. I notice that the Amazon.com average review score for this book is less than the other books, (as I type this review, it is a 4.4 stars out of 5, while the other HP books are 5.) I think that was because all the hype, and the long wait, just created set fans' expectations up too high, and they were hard to meet. I think this book will be more people's favorites AFTER the series is done with, and when they re-read the books.

Summary: The best of the five Harry Potter books
Review: This is the best of the five harry potter books. Some people may think that it is too long. But it is so intersting and entertaining that it doesnt take long to read because you cant put it down. I dont really like to read but this book made me want to read it. I like that there was alot of adventure and alot of action. Some books that are that long dont have alot of adventure or action but this book has action and adventure though out the entire book. From start to finish. J.K. Rowling has such a big imagination. I dont know where she comes up with all of it. She is a very great and intersting writer and I hope to see more Harry Potter books soon.

Summary: An Awesome novel,must read!
Review: Harry potter and the Order of the Phoenix is amazing. J.K. Rowling makes it seem like it's your friends or your own life! Harry Potter came back from another boring summer with the Dursley's and wants to find out information about Voldermort's progress. No on will tell him. On top of all that his hormones are coming into play. It's so true in relationship to our teenage lives. Sometimes we snap at friends that we have no problem with, or we have so much anger we just let loose on say...Draco Malfoy?, or we may do the stupid thing when we think it is the smart thing but know it's still stupid! This book did not keep me on the edge of my seat.. it kept me falling off my seat, many times! This book is not just worth reading it's worth reading several times! The purpose of this story is to show that all teenagers have problems. J.K Rowling puts a great image in your mind about what he is going through.

Summary: What Batboy Thinks
Review: J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a book that I loved to read because of how it grabbed my attention with Harry and Dudley getting attacked by Dementors right at the beginning of the book. When you pick up this book it is really hard to put it down until you finish it. I like the way J.K. Rowling writes and how she tells the story because it's easy to understand and very fun to read.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the 5th book in the series and in my opinion the most exciting one yet. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is about Harry Potter who was attacked by "you know who" while he was a child and in this book Rowling starts with Harry at his aunt's and uncle's house, where Harry is frustrated about not getting any information over the summer from his friends and is trying every thing to get news. He eventually gets to the Headquarters of the Order of The Phoenix. He is happy to be back with his friends and can't wait for school to start. I really enjoyed this book and I think you will to.
