Summary: xxx
Review: The 5th Harry Potter was completely ingenious- it was amazing to me how everything was so well planned. However, the events that take place are extremely disappointing; the first 4 books follow a pattern but this one is completely different. A lot of the occurences are disappointing and very sad - let's just say that this book has more fighting than anything else. It's still a very good book, and I'm happy with it, but after reading it, I didn't get the sense of satisfaction that I got after reading the first four books. The Order of the Phoenix is very emotional; at one point I started tearing. However, like I said before, it's still a very good book and deserves the 4 stars I gave it.

Summary: Gripping but very dark!
Review: I have loved the Harry Potter books and have been waiting for #5 for 3 years now. I happily waited in line for an hour and a half and walked out of the store as though floating on a cloud. That cloud of happiness deflated slightly when I began reading this newest installment.
Apart from having such a dark feeling that starts almost immediately the subtle humor and lighthearted banter I've become accustomed to seemes to have disappeared.
Though the story gripped me from the first page, and quite a few questions were answered along the way, it made me extremely grateful that I did not have a child reading this. I had a difficult time shaking the lingering feelings of anger and darkness that held me in its thrall while reading this book and I believe that it would be very difficult for a young child to deal with such oppressive emotions.
Dealing with the death of a much beloved character made liking this book a little more difficult and one can only hope J K Rollings can rectify this in a later book.
There were some points in the story where compassion and humor abounded, pulling you out of the oppressive feelings of the book and making it easier to continue.
For the most part I enjoyed this book, it just took a while to get used to seeing Harry so filled with anger. I also had to wonder if J K Rollings has forgotten who her original audiance was, young children.
If you are already a Harry Potter fan then this book is definately one for you.
JK Rollings is an amazing storyteller who manages to make you feel a wide range of emotions.

Summary: it's getting better
Review: so finally, having just finished this 870 pages monster of a book, i must say that i like it the best from the series so far. although i was initially quite reluctant, maybe i just generally didn't think it could get interesting, but still determined to read it, i started last night and finished today.

the main reasons why this book is better is:
it's a lot less cookiecutter - the first 3 were quite similar, the 4th one seemed to have broken out of that but only in comparison to this book it can be seen that all the first 4 were quite similar in fact. harry potter however is growing up, and so is the author. it is delightful to see rowling writing much more psychologically deep and complex traits of character. the main character starts reflecting about the world and his place in it for the first time with a widened view, and the result is quite compelling in it's own right, even if it didn't have the character evaluations and developments of four previous books to feed it. for the first time she leaves a clear structure (even volume four had the triwizard cup with its rigid structure so pull the book onwards) and i have to say i like the result.

i have to reread the book to catch all the details and have it make sense but i can say this much - it's getting better.

Summary: Once again, J.K Rowling stuns the world
Review: OK, all you harry potter fans get strapped up and ready to go!!! Book five is finally here

it took me less than a day to read book 5 and i can tell you it does not dissapoint

harry struggles in a new world of adventures with the return of favorite characters such as lupind, mad-eye moody, firenze, fudge and more

this book is more touching than some of her previous works and makes harry seem a lot more normal and more like a typical teen

JK Rowling's writing style is so fun and easy to read and with every page a new fun way of putting things together is said. she really makes the characters come to life in this book and seem highly realistic and she adds creative sutbleties that most authors would not notice about the real world

so IF you did not order this book a head of time, like the most of the world, please go and order one, it is a delight to read and a pleasure that literature can still play such a great part in a world dominated by television and electronics

and let me tell you, i had better not be 3 more years before she writes another episode

Summary: Harry Potter Grows Up
Review: As advertised, this book is by far the darkest of the Harry Potter series. At the same time, it seems that as Harry develops, so does Ms. Rawlings's writing style. While The Order of the Phoenix lacks some of the wide eyed wonder found in the first few books of the series, it does display a polished writing style and depth of plot that those novels lacked. This is not, however, necessarily a good book for younger children. It accurately captures a greeat deal of the agnst and anger of a teenager on the verge of adulthood, and deals extensively with the fallability of real human adults. This will probably make the character motivations more dificult for younger readers to relate to. It does, however, make it a much more satisfying read for both teens and adults. Overall, this is an excellent read and a well polished book, although it seems to lack much of the magic that first endeared Harry and Ms. Rowling to children and adults both.

Summary: For once, the hype is deserved.
Review: Harry Potter 5, the centre of such overwhelming media hype and attention-it could only be a disappointment. Or could it...? The book is a lot darker and mature than its predecessors; it also explores much of the world outside Hogwarts and certain revelations about the characters make them seem more real than perhaps they did in the previous books. Dolores Umbridge is a great addition to the growing parthenon of Defence Against The Dark Arts Teachers, and there's a nice line of subtle digs about the UK education system. I really loved this book; Goblet of Fire took me a while to get into but this grabbed my attention immediately and rarely slacken the pace. One must commend Rowling for writing a book of so much quality and for raising her already high standards when so many authors would rest on their laurels. I can't wait for book 6-just hope it isn't another three years.
