Summary: Harry Potter is overated
Review: I do not like Harry Potter. I find the books dense, confusing, and senseless. I do not understand the craze for these picks. I find them boring and stupid.

Summary: Just... wow...
Review: The book came today, and I can't put it down. It's amazing. I can't wait until other people have finished reading it so I can talk to people about it without giving away plot points. It's just... wow. Dark as ever, but really well written.

Summary: Order of the Phoenix
Review: Wow! Couldn't wait for this book and now I can't wait for the next two! Its hard to imagine what will happen next. In this book, Harry is growing older, and has lost alot of his innocence found in other books. The strain of dealing with the unknown is taking its toll. From the beginning, there is a feeling of dread, an uncertainty that there will be a happy ending. The struggle between good and evil goes on, and like in real life, good does not always win. Many new characters are introduced, and almost certainly will play key rolls in the final episodes. Also, familiar characters undergo dramatic changes. This book seems somewhat detatched from the other books, as Harry and life at Hogwarts both have seemed to lose some of their idealistic charm. Definitely a must read for Harry Potter fans, although it is becoming a much darker story. Younger children who enjoy the magic and wizard toys and products might find the general tone too negative, however, those with enough maturity to get through the 800+ pages on their own will probably get swept away like I did, and will start wondering when the next book will be out as soon as they finish this one.

Summary: The amazing book we waited so long for is finally here.
Review: The moment I got home from the book store where I had got my copy of Order of the Phoenix I started reading. Within the fist 20 pages I was hooked. Order of the Phoenix is a lot more deeper and serious than the previous four books in several ways. The characters are getting older and more mature. In effect their lives are becoming harder and more complicated especially now that Voldemorts back. If you've read all four of the Potter series you have to read this book. And if your a first time HArry fan than you have to read the other four books before you read this one. Order of the Phoenix will be impossible to understand if you haven't read the other books. Do your self a favor and buy this book today. You'll love it and want to read it cover to cover as fast as you can!

Summary: A different tone to the rest
Review: Read the book yesterday in one sitting. The things that stuck out for me are listed below:

1. It was very long. By this i don't mean just page count. There was a bit of waffle. It was not as tightly focused as the first three. Those who were a little impatient with the start of the fourth book will find that sort of beginning rather extended in the fifth. Perhaps a stricter editor would have helped.

2. Harry is definately going through teen angst. More the "it's me against the world. Not even my friends understand me anymore. Nobody cares about me. I'm not a kid anymore you know." sort of angst. However, it is not recounted with the tenderness and attention to detail shown in the previous books. Things in this book are much more simplisitic and black or white. Perhaps this is a reflection of Harry's mindset since he is definately getting more stubborn and dare i say, a little proud.

3. If i had to sum up what this book is about without giving away spoilers, i'd say human imperfection. The revelations that occur here may not please all the fans but they still pack a punch.

Summary: What an awesome book!
Review: WOW! I just got my copy that I bought from Amazon.com a long time ago. I opened the box and grabbed the book and began reading. With in the first 20 pages I was hooked! I couldn't put it down! I began reading at 8:00am and finished at 9:00pm. Order of the Phoenix is so much more deep than the previous 4 books. In my opinon it's for an older audience. Sorry to the little inns who will try to read it because they probably not understand it. J.K. Rowling really took her time writing this book and I'm so glad she did. The characters are starting to look and sound older. It's almost like we are growing up with Harry himself. With Voldemort back the books will start to get more mature and harder to understand. So if your a first time Harry Potter reader don't buy the 5th book first. Buy them all and read them in order. You'll understand everything better and will want to read Harry Potter 24/7. Buy this book. You will not be disappointed.
HAPPY READING!

Summary: another step in the life of The Boy Who Lived
Review: I would like to say that I ordered this book in February. I have been anxiously awaiting its arrival and consciously avoiding all spoilers that have been thrown at me. With all this excitement, I hoped the book would be able to live up to my ideals.

And, oh, did it.

The book is definitly darker, both in the setting and the story line, but the cast of characters and outragous antics liven the gloom. Many of the older characters we've grown to love (or hate) have been given more depth while new, interesting figures have joined Harry's life.

I must say that this book had me swinging between laughing loudly and on the verge of tears.

This novel has not only met my expectations, but has surpassed them. I urge anyone to follow the life and adventures of Harry Potter.

Summary: Continuing Greatness
Review: Can the hype equal the book? In this case, I think yes. Rowling has delivered again in this 5th installment. Without revealing any plot points, let's just say that what we have come to expect in the Harry Potter books returns: scenes of the Durseley's, brushes (and collisions) with authority, the return of several beloved characters, and the introduction of new and fascinating aspects of the wizarding world (the Room of Requirement must be her most delightful invention thus far).

As evidenced by "The Goblet of Fire," the books here continue their exploration of more adult problems--the presence and activities of Voldemort continue to overshadow all that Harry does, but more localized concerns weigh on him heavily in this installment, as the divisions between Dumbledore and Cornelius Fudge, which were revealed at the end of the last book, here explode into the open, affecting everyone in Harry's circle.

Despite the increasing tension, Rowling again proves adept at interweaving humor into her narrative and skillfully navigating between high drama and comedy. The book much as in "Goblet," and perhaps the greatest nugget concerning Harry and Voldemort's shared destinies appears in the novel's conclusion, giving plenty of material for speculation as to what may happen in the last two books.

The only question is, how will we survive the long wait to book six?

Summary: Better Than Ever
Review: After waiting in line for two hours to get the Order of the Phoenix, I had rather high expectations. Not only were they met, they were surapssed. From the plot that keeps you guessing up until the last page to the arrival of new characters and sad and grossly unfair departures of others, this book rocked. J. K. Rowling wasn't kidding when she said a main character died, and it's not the one you would expect. A definate must read that makes you already think of number six with longing.
