Summary: Growing Up
Review: Harry is growing up, and we see this in many of the things that happen within the book. This does not slow it down; it only helps progress the story. The backplot of how he deals with girls, how he accepts adults, and how he learns to contain his anger all illuminate his changes.

By now, most people have learned that Rowling "offed" one of the main characters. It's not strictly an attention getter; it helps move the plot, and set us up for the next book.

We meet more onerous characters who truly make your skin crawl and a world that for the most part does not want to believe that Voldemort is back. This of course makes it hard not only for Harry, but any who stand against Voldemort.

In the end, Harry learns to feel bad for Snape, learns a deadly prophecy, and grows by teaching his classmates Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Can't wait to read it again!

Summary: Dragongirl
Review: Oh Yes.
After 3 years of waiting, I finally got to read the fifth Harry Potter Book. And I loved it.
It is completely different from all of the others, darker, and Harry is growing up, wonderful. The characters are great, amazingly producing someone I loathe more that Snape.
I really shouldnt say much more, not wanting to spoil the wonderful book.
My favorite remains the 3rd book, But this one is close behind.

Summary: Darker and More Emotional than the others, but Fantastic!
Review: I just finished reading the 5th book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. To prepare myself for the release I re-read books 3 and 4 so I would ready for 5. I wasn't disapointed. The story follows Harry through his 5th year at Hogwarts, while prepares to take his O.W.L.s (Ordinary Wizarding Level's) along with Ron and Herminone. What separates this book from the others is that Harry, now 15 is angry and resentful. He's angry about Cedric Diggory's death, He's angry that no one will tell him what's happening in the wizarding world while he's stuck at Number 4 Privet drive, and he's angry because he feels alone in the world knowing what he does and few others beleive, that he who shall not be named has returned.
J.K. Rowling does again in this book what she has done in the previous ones, she gives us yet another glimpse of the Wizarding world, richly woven with all of the details you would expect from the creater of Bernie Botts every flavor beans. What she also does, is give us more insight into what the connection is between Harry and Lord Voldemort, as well other connections between characters, like James Potter and Severus Snape.
While it is well known that someone close to Harry dies in this book (and I won't reveal who), this event doesn't happen until the end, leaving the reader constantly to conjecture on who it is.
This book was a definite page turner, I read it for two days straight to finish the story. When I finally did finish it, however, I didn't feel regret that it was over, rather more saddend by the turn of events. This book was excellent, although it leaves you feeling a bit uneasy at times. Harry is very angry at the world, due to events past, present and future. When you add 15 year old hormones and girl problems to that, you get an absolutely riviting portrayal of a teenage wizard coming of age.

Summary: Definitely worth the 3 year wait!
Review: Let me start by saying that when I got my book on Saturday and started reading, I could not put it down until I finished ten hours later! Wow!
This book is much darker, and even Hogwarts is not the refuge for Harry that it used to be. The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is someone that would make Snape seem like a lovable teddy bear, if that gives you an idea! Of course, when you're in your fifth year and have your OWLs to takes as well, even Hermione can be heard to feel the strain!
Dumbledore is only mostly there in the background until the latter part of the book. When you find out why, it makes sense, but in the mean time you're just as confused as Harry.
Harry is 15, with all the troubles that come with that age. He is angry, very angry, though understandably so. The anger he's felt over all these years comes rushing out. But he does end up channeling it in some useful way, and becomes quite a leader. Strangely enough, he doesn't get picked to be a Prefect, like Percy once was. (There is a good reason for it, even though this is the Harry Potter series. :-)) Ron does, and that's a great thing, for a loyal 'second fiddle' as he has been throughout most of the books. But I do hope that Harry becomes Head Boy in a couple of years!
Rowling does a wonderful job of bringing back some of the 'minor' characters. Some of the students you've heard mentioned during the sorting play more of a role here.
A lot of questions are answered in this book, such as why Harry has to go back to Privet Drive every year. I have a feeling too, that the coming summer for Harry is going to be somewhat better.
A word of caution. Rowling has said in interviews that a major character is going to die. If you don't already know who, wait to find out until you read the book for yourself. I don't think it exactly spoiled it for me to know, but perhaps it takes away some of the emotional impact if you know in advance who's going to make it, and who isn't. Either way, you'll love the book.

Summary: HARRY 5
Review: I am huge Harry Potter fan. The 5th book of the series was just as great as every other. Harry has a heros heart and that is what gets him to so many sticky situations. The book truly shows the friendship between Harry,Ron, and Hemione is very strong. After reading this you will so understand just how important Harrys role is, in the wizarding world. .I love this book and I know all who read this will be captivated.

Summary: Well, the rumors were true!
Review: I have never been able to read for 14 hours straight, let alone such a thick book, in one sitting. Though I admit that I am a major Harry Potter fan, I have never, EVER gone through any of the books so fast. At the end, I was awestruck. Without giving any details away, the rumors of someone important dying and all that are true. And the one who dies is quite unexpected and extraordinarily upsetting.
I was riveted to every page. It pained me having to set the book down even for a moment to rest my eyes. A wealth of previously secret information is finally unveiled, and everything that seemed so obscure in the previous 4 books comes into focus; plans for the future become known as well. Thankfully, it does not leave you hanging as the 4th did. I just wonder how long we have to wait until the 6th book!!
For people who are unfamiliar with Harry Potter, get familiar, because these books are AMAZING!!!

Summary: Significantly darker
Review: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a most worthy continuation of the epic Harry Potter story. As has been the trend over the previous two episodes (Goblet of Fire and Prisoner of Azkaban), the atmosphere is significantly darker, but in my opinion this is absolutely appropriate to the events and very skilfully handled. Harry is a lot more complex, not always quite as likeable as the uncomplicated little boy we came to love in his early years at Hogwarts, but I see this as a good thing; it makes him more real and more vulnerable, seeing him struggle with issues and choices almost too difficult to bear or to comprehend at times, and his adolescent anger, his occasional irrationality and lack of logic, even the way he is forced to rethink some of his previous assumptions (I'm being deliberately vague), and see that there are always at least two sides to every story - all of this is very well written and portrayed.
Moving, gripping, fascinating - I read it in one sitting - at times devastating; can't wait for the next one!

Summary: A good effort...
Review: This is just a short note to say that The Order of the Phoenix was a good, entertaining book. However, I dont feel it was as good as the Goblet of Fire.

Summary: My head is still spinning....
Review: Wow. That's all I can say after finishing OOTP. The story is so thrilling that by the end I was numb with excitement, my brain still not able to properly wrap around the last 200 pages of this amazing book.
It's the darkest, most mature, and best written of the series so far. J.K. Rowling has outdone herself again with a tale that is funny, exciting, scary, and heartwrenchingly bittersweet. Fans of the series rejoice, we've not been let down (but seriously, was there any doubt?)
Since the book has just been relased, I won't go into any specifics except to say that this is an amazingly well crafted story that picks up and takes you through an adventure like I never expected. I've only just finished it and am still trying to wrap my brain around everything I've read, and plan on rereading it again within the week.
