Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This book was so good, and believable. Yes, it was a lot darker than the others, but it had to be. Harry went through so much in the past 4 years, that the book would've been a dissapointment if J.K Rowling made the characters light, happy, and able to deal with whatever was infront of them. That's not reality, and J.K Rowling made her characters realistic...thats why Harry is darker and the book had sad, scarey moments. In my opinion This was one of the best books because you can relate with what the characters are feeling, and you can really see how they've grown, but still in need of giudence. It's exciting, entertaining, funny, mysterious, and insightful. It was very long, but it kept my attention and was fun to read.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!!! Review: I gave this book 5 stars because I really love all of the Harry Potter books and I sometimes wish I could even be in some of them! ( I wish they were real) well that's all I got to say!!!
Rating: Summary: A Great Read! Review: This was a great book in a great series! I have loved the Harry Potter series for several years now. I was completely caught up in all the excitement before the book came out, and it was not a disappointment! Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix continues the series during Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts! All the old characters are back and continue to grow. Professor Umbrigde joins the Hogwarts staff as the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. She is truely another evil character that J.K. Rowling has created. The battle against Voldemort rages on, but secretly as the Ministry of Magic has refused to recognize this ominious threat. This book is excellent. While my favorite book in the series is still (and forever will be) Prisoner of Azkaban, this book is amazing! I definately recomend the series to anyone who has not discover the world of Harry Potter and for those people who are already fans of the books! Read this book!
Rating: Summary: A Book for All Ages Review: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is an excellent book for ANYONE and everyone to read. I know children 5 and 7 years of age that LOVE the book (the whole series rather) and I am a sophomore in college and I HATE reading and I am always entranced by the books when I read them. Not only is it great exercise for the imagination, Harry Potter teaches great morals, something you can't find in every book. I also find myself relating to Harry and how he's feeling about himself and schoolwork and friends (and enemies). There is NEVER a dull moment in any of JK's books and the language somehow is readable for younger populations but captivating enough for older readers as well. I recommend the Harry Potter books for everyone to read...as many times as your schedule allows! They never get old!
Rating: Summary: The Best Harry Potter Book, also the most dark Review: I believe this is the most dark and mature of all the Harry Potter books and wouldn't suggest it for anyone younger then 10 years old. J.K. Rowling has created another masterpiece with a big plot that shows in the book size. Pros: nice story, nice ending, good character description, good everything. Cons: There might be just a bit too many unnessasary plots. I don't mind though. Overall very good book. I personally finished it 2 days.
Rating: Summary: A So-So Book Review: I was unable to enjoy book five of the Harry Potter series because of the dark tone. I have no problems with dark tones but when I read a book with a dark tone I expect certain things that I did not get in book five. I expect not only a dark tone but dark humor, a dark plot, dark villains, and darker characters. I only got a dark tone. The humor remained childish and it grated on my nerves with the differnt tone. I didn't smile once during the book. Light humor goes with a light tone. The plot was a mess and it resembled swiss cheese with all the holes I found. With a light tone I tend to ignore plot holes but I expect the author to have thought it through better if they want to use a dark tone. The villains need to be dark and Voldemort has become a laughable villain. I can't take Harry seriously as a hero if the villain he is fighting against is as stupid as Voldemort is being portrayed. He needs to be darker, more sinsiter, scarier but he's nothing but a child's villain that would have done himself proud on the Power Rangers. The characters also should have gotten darker along with the tone. The Dursley's are not comic. They let a child be neglected for eleven years, locked him in the cupboard under their stairs, and ignored him. They are not funny and yet, even in this book, they are portrayed that way. Even Umbridge, who had potential, was never shown as more than a bumbling politician. This book also had great potential in that it grayed up the area of right and wrong. The good side was no longer seen as being that wonderful but it failed to humanize the bad side. Too many authors do this. They want to make the 'good' side human while keeping the 'bad' side demonized. It never works. And it is not working in the Potter novels. The good side can't be gray because if it is the bad side is, by default, gray also. Which means it is real life and in real life sometimes it is impossible to tell which 'side' is bad and which 'side' is good. Rowling could have done that but she didn't. She has demonized the Death Eaters too much for them to be portrayed as sympathetic and yet they aren't any different than the good side. The good side only wants humans to use magic and the bad side only wants purebloods to use magic. Both are prejudiced. One is just acceptable and the other is not. I'm sure the good humans would have no problem killing house elves, centaurs, or goblins that dared to use wands so why should I care if they are being killed by Death Eaters that want to take the same priviledge away from them? There are two books to go so maybe the potential in book five will be played out but I'm not hoping for much.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Some might say that this book is too dark or too long. But in saying that you are comparing this book to any other series. Harry Potter is growing as a person and therefore needs to act his age. Rowling does a great job of changing his personality to fit his age. And though the book may be long, I finished it in one sitting. All in all i think this might be my favorite out of the all of the Harry Potter books so far.
Rating: Summary: Even thicker and more packed with adventure Review: Even thicker and more packed with adventure than its predecessors is Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, the story of Harry Potter's nightmares of a mysterious door at the end of a corridor, added to the ongoing daily terrors of a disgruntled house elf and a end-of-term frightening wizard exam. Deep friendships, courage, and underlying loyalty continue to lie at the heart of Harry Potter's experiences, adding this to a fine series of involving, fast-paced reads.
Rating: Summary: pleeeeeeeeeez read! Review: the reason i rated this book so low is because i think it is just to dark ! books 4&5were(i think)really dark and shifty i think some happy things need to happen like ron and hermione go out or somthing.pleeeeez dont get me wrong i likrd the book but i almost stopped reading it cuz i was tired hearing how everything went wrong with harry potters little perfect life i mean i think j.k. rowlings made him very selfish and self absorbed!same thing in book 4!
Rating: Summary: Good Read Review: After going through the hype and going crazy to be one of the first ones to read the book i wasnt disappointed. Unlike alot of the others that read the book I enjoyed the fact that this book was so long. the reason being that you have to wait so long for the author to finish the book that when it finally comes you dont want it to end early. I would have given the book 3 stars but i gave it 4 since i had a feeling of completion when i finished this one. for some strange reason i am able to wait for the author to take as long as she wants with the next one. she was able to tie up all the loose ends in this one. you wont be disappointed
