Summary: Harry Potter Mania!!!!!
Review: Though i have not finished the book yet since it only came out yesterday, i have read up to chapter 10, and it is fantastic!!! Another true Potter classic, and i hope you will read it!!

Summary: Another fun one
Review: This is probably not the best book I've read (ok, it definitely isn't), but it is one of the 5 most fun (along with 1, 2, 3, & 4). I still think Goblet of Fire is the best in the series, but the Order is right up there. Much darker (and longer) than even Book 4, the Order never becomes labourous--I read it in one 7 hour sitting on Saturday. While probably too dark for the average 8 year old, it has only left me wanting more.

Summary: Superb addition to the Harry Potter Series
Review: This next installment in the Harry Potter Series really and truly can be said as the best one yet. Although many themes in this series are beginning to become unsuitable for younger readers, EX-More talk of death, Fighting (Harry's temper), Love, and an actual death of someone close to Harry. All in all though, this book does not fail to deliver the feeling of granduer and suspense like the other books in this series.

Summary: Worth the wait
Review: If you're reading book 5, you know that you like J.K. Rowlings' writing style, so I needn't mention how this volume is well paced and accessible. It has been three long years since the last book, and for fans of Rowling's creation, the rewards are great. Her smartly crafted characters and settings allow the reader to once again delve into the world of Witchcraft & Wizardry, and she's kicked the adrenaline up a notch, too. It is my opinion that Rowling has allowed herself, or been allowed by editors, the luxury of putting down exactly what she wanted, and allowing her characters and plots to become deeply and fascinatingly layered.

The characters in this book, both old and new, are strongly crafted individuals. It is difficult to capture the often-irritating mercurial tempers of teenagers, but Rowlings has managed to do it. There were times, during the reading of this book, that I would sigh and roll my eyes at the attitudes and actions of the teen heroes and heroines; an action that was prompted by my exasperation with their painfully true teenage angst. Her adult characters, while they tend to be painted with a slightly wider brush, are not mere caricatures of evil, bumbling stupidity, or shining glory. They are not the heroes here, and are thus accorded less attention, but they are almost as strongly drawn as the younger characters. Each lends something important to the story.

The story itself is a treat of action and adventure. The young wizards and witches develop their skills along with their characters, and engage in everything from hallway antics to heroic battles. While this may not be the best choice for a bedtime story for the littlest of little ones, it is a shining example for children that actions have consequences, a belief to easily shaken off in our modern world. Not everyone comes out well in this story, as one finds is often the case in life. I applaud Rowlings' consistent efforts to provide children with reading material that doesn't equate youth with simplicity.

Rowling has provided us with another layer on the irresistible confection that is the Harry Potter series. Well done.

Summary: Rowling definatly hasn't lost her touch SPOILERS
Review: He he he.... 870 pages in less than 48 hrs. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is just as great as the previous 4. No, Rowling didnt loose her touch over the three years she has been writing this. The Order of the Phoenix sees a great change in Harry that is evident from the beginning. Unlike in the first 4, Harry is starting to become a bit more confident and cocky in his actions. Although this is not said clearly in the book, it is evident in how Harry acts around Ron and Hermione and various other people. Another change in this one is there are a lot more dreams and a lot less actions. Yeah there is one big Quiditch scene, but after that... well just read the book you'll see. It seems as if Rowling was trying to fool the readers in some parts as to who 'gets the axe' in this book to put it bluntly ;-). There are various points where one thinks that somebody is going to die, and it adds to the excitment that unlike the previous books, this person might actually die. Death seems to be a bigger theme in this series, ever since the ending of the Goblet of Fire. There are various things in this book that relate back to death, or seeing death, and one of the action scenes takes place in a room... well just read the book. Harry has to deal with more trouble at Hogwarts with a new power-hungry Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher whose personality is wonderfully mean. The trials and tribulations that Harry goes through are more mental than physical this year, as there are less Quiditch matches (you'll see why) and Voldemort doesn't show up that much. Also many charachters in this book who were looked at as perfect by Harry in previous books, are revealed to be only human. As earlier stated dreams are a much larger part of this book, and play a key point during the climax of the book, which I must say is by far the coolest yet. In the Sorcerer's stone, the climax was themed around friendship and teamwork as Harry, Hermione and Ron worked together to reach the Sorceror's stone. In the Chamber of Secrets, Harry found the courage inside him to face up against the basilisk and Tom Riddle. In the third book, Harry put his happiness up against the dementors and helped Sirius escacpe. In the fourth book, the climax was horrific as Harry watched Cedric die, and Voldemort come back to life. The Order of the Phoenix, well let's just say the climax is mysterious... Also this is the first book that actually had me crying :-( If you enjoyed the first four, you will love the Order of the Phoenix

Summary: Where did it all go wrong?
Review: I just finished reading Harry Potter 5. All I can say is it is rather disappointing.

This is a 768 page story, which could have been told in a tenth of the number.

Harry certainly spends most of the book 'being angry', but does little else.

The plot is average, and nothing really happens, when you sit down after finishing the book and think about it.

There are no massive relevations as implied earlier, and I think JKR had to kill off a reasonably important character just to try to make the book a bit more interesting, i.e. salvage it.

There is no progression in the Hermione and Ron relationships, and these two characters do very little in the book, apart from becoming prefects.

Hagrid disappears for most of the book, and again he does very little. (hopefully you will be starting to see an underlying theme)

Certain new characters are introduced but they are not developed.

An unrealistic relationship is introduced too soon between Harry and Cho Chang, just 2 months after Cedric death, which ultimately goes no where.

but here goes the predictions for the next book - Harry goes out with Ginny, a new character Linda Lovelace, er sorry Luna Lovegood, will play a major role, that will go for Neville Longbottom as well, who might turn out to be 'the chosen one' to borrow a phrase from the matrix, just so there is a twist in the tale, and Ron and Hermiones relationship will be dragged out a bit more.

Dumbledore certainly tells everything' but not anything any reasonably intelligent reader of this series wouldn't have figured out themselves, earlier, and he ends his hardly surprising revelations, uncharacteristically crying like a girl.

All in all a poor effort Miss Rowling, and I give her a resounding 'could do better'. Less hype and concentrate more on the story please.

Summary: The best book I have Ever Read
Review: Astounding! This book is so well written, so well put together that I couldn't put it down. As soon as I got it I read it straight through for six and a half hours! The whole book is full of mystery, plot twists, character twists, and an ending that I had to read twice just to make sure I read it right the first time. I can't believe the end. The answer to why Voledmort is after Harry is so amazing it kept me wanting more. I hope it won't be 3 more years until #6 comes out!! I don't think I can last that long!

This is a must read for all Potter fans!! You cannot go without reading it!
