Summary: not the best book in the harry potter trilogy..
Review: OKay, personally, i'm a huge harry potter fan. I was so exited to get the 5th book i stayed up all night to finish it. I was one of the first to get the book. I read through the book and i must say, this isnt JK Rowlings finest work. At the beginning it was pretty good, except for some rough edges but overall, pretty good. The new defense against the dark arts teacher is a great and imaginative character but i must say, Ron as a prefect?? Ron as a Keeper for the Gryffindor Quidditch Team?? So basically, ron took all the "glory" from Harry and beat him in basically everything. It just doesnt fit in with the rest of the books... But the book, then, it was liveable. Heck, in some parts enjoyable. But then, it got worse. The plot is "thick" but very lame... i gave this book two stars because deep down, i am a harry potter fan and the book wasn't as good as i expected, or even lose!! to tell you the truth, i was disapointed. Oh yeah, one more thing, Harry's life becomes miserable!!...So in conclusion, i am not going to recommend buying this book. To me, it was just a waste of money and time. just borow it from a nearby library. thats all i have to say but you can determine for yourself if this book as good as the previous books.

Summary: Excellent, Exciting, and Thrilling!
Review: The best yet of the series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix proved to be most exciting. Twisting and turning and leaving me unable to sleep for nearly two days straight, which is the time limit in I finish every book I've ever read. The story really leads you into feeling quite attatched to it's characters, feeling what they feel. Of course, I have come to think on the fact that the story gets rather dreary, sad, and depressing, but I can only hope better things will happen. A page turner for sure for any who are true fans of great literature.

Summary: Simply Amazing
Review: I don't know how she does it, but J.K. Rowling is a true witch with her words. Harry Potter Book 5 is yet another amazing tale, with a plot so exciting nothign can match it. Even from the beginning, Rowling is sure to put a sence of adventure in this book. AND, we finally get SO many questions about Potter answered.

However good the plot, descriptive details, etc, Rowling does make two mistakes. Oneshe wastes too mcuh time teling Harry's thoughts when unnesscary, and she kills off the wrong charactor. (If you want to find out who, read the book!)

Summary: Not a disappointment
Review: Well, it didn't take me as long to read it as I thought it would, and I would say I really liked it. Much better than Book 4. Of course, the big question was "who died?" but I won't mention that here. But now I'm concerned that it will be another three years before the next.

Summary: J. K. Rowling Has Outdone Herself!
Review: After just finishing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in a little over 24 hours I find myself simply stunned. Without giving any of the plot away, suffice it to say that Rowling has continued the evolution of her characters and in addition has penned an incredible storyline which to me strongly mirrors Germany as Hitler was rising to power. From the Ministry of Magic who is too afraid and too involved in it's own internal squabbles to admit that Lord Voldemort is back and gathering followers, to the resistant group (The Order of the Phoenix), you can't help but see the parallels. In addition this is a new portrayal of Harry himself as for the first time he sees himself disbelieved and ridiculed by the wizarding world at large. Once again he is supported by his loyal friends who assist him in getting through some of the darkest times he has ever been through. Even so, it is the well meaning intentions of some of them that cause the most trouble. Rowling has once again made her characters well rounded and multidimensional. None of them are perfect and it is some of the wisest that make mistakes purely out of their love and concern for Harry. All I can say is Bravo Ms. Rowling and I can't wait for the next book in this extraordinary series!

Summary: Darker, But Very Satisfying!
Review: This is an excellent read! The longest of Rowling's books so far, it is also darker, but very satisfying. Plot elements that have been working for the last four books are brought together. Not all questions are answered, and there is more mystery generated that will need to be cleared up in the next two books, but Book Five is very satisfying to read. I highly recommend it! Enjoy reading!

Summary: Best Harry Potter yet
Review: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is Rowling's best novel yet; most polished writing, most imaginative, and most compelling characterization. All the main characters are more clearly defined, more complex, and more believable. Rowling's pheonomenal gift for suspense and plot is never more brilliant here; the special effects are thrilling, imaginative and never sensational. The climax and denouement are believable and leave the reader breathless, ready for Book Six. The book is certainly dark, but has its moments of tenderness and outrageous comedy...Rowling shows us how to be brave, again, in the midst of dark times. Intelligent, engaging, beautifully written.

Summary: Order of the Phoenix
Review: I was really looking forward to reading this book. It has left me a bit disappointed.

Harry is so angry in this book. He keeps getting mad at everyone. The first half of the book has Harry yelling at everyone. He also keeps getting in trouble but he won't go to Dumbledor. Hasn't he learned that Dumbledor is his friend?

Harry gets banned from doing almost everything and that makes it a bit boring. He is not happy most of the book.

Some parts of the book are interesting and it is still easy to get invloved in the story. Harry gets his first kiss but it's not how you would of expected it to go. Everyone has grown up way to fast in this book without anything really leading to this.

The book also has way to many charactors for a children's book.

A person close to Harry dies in this book also. Harry has a hard time dealing with this also. He also learns more about his parents and sees that they were not as perfect as he hoped them to be. It's a humbling moment but he takes it out with rage.

The end is when Dumbledor tells him the secret. Everything winds down in the book for a somewhat happy ending. Everyone finally belives the dark lord is back.

I will still read the next book in the series. The writer has still been able to keep me entraled in Mr. Potter's Life.

Summary: It's Harry Potter, how bad could it be?
Review: I finished this book in a day, and what kept me going was finding out what Dumbledore "should have told Harry five years ago". The secrets were good, but not exactly revelations.

Since this is the 5th book, and Harry's 15 now, it's natural that he's going through his angry adolescent phase and with good reason. He's had a hard life. But sometimes I just wanted to shake and him and say, Harry, just go to Dumbledore and he'll get you sorted out!

I don't think this book needed to be as long as it was, it seemed like a lot of uphill to get to the grand finale. In the end, I was satisfied, I even shed a few tears. We have to understand that this book is a continuation of sorts, another year in his life. I don't think it stands alone as well as The Sorceror's Stone or The Chamber of Secrets. Still, it was good. Even when Harry Potter is so-so, it's good.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: It's getting dark...
Review: Seemed a little slow on the uptake, but picked up nicely towards the middle. Several surprising reactions from established characters kept throwing me off.

But, all-in-all, I'm pleased with the book, and of course, now I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment!!
