Review: THIS BOOK IS THE GREATEST!!![.]
It is the best of all the Harry books!!![.]
I just finished reading it now(we got it yesterday)and it is so incredible that you won't believe it. It's electrifyingly suspenseful, shockingly sad and unbelievably action-packed. It's still as funny as ever, too.
This is the Harry Potter book with the chapters that start telling the real story of the characters such as Harry(of course) Neville, and a neighbor of Harry's(you think I'm gonna tell who it is?),Sirius Black and Snape.

There is also a person in it who is so irritating and evil that you can't help but grip the edges of the book in anger at what she does.
J.K. Rowling has hit the jackpot--big time. This absoulutly wonderful book is the best one I have EVER read.
If you buy this book(and you WILL), you will be on the edge of your seat with excitment, and your kuckles will be white. These books leave Nintendo and computer games in the dust. Be part of the Harry Potter rage. It's not a passing fad. These books are BIG. REALLY big. Oh, and as for all that talk of Harry Potter being "dark, sinister and evil", forget about it. All that talk about "dark witchcraft" is like talk about the earth being flat. It's untrue. Harry Potter is a cheerful book for all ages. So you're absoulutly bonkers if you decide not to buy this book. You must BUY IT, NOW!!![.]

Summary: #5
Review: I am a little disappointed...I was hoping that Harry would find someone he can truly connect with..and it just did not happen...instead he has another person close to him die. I think the only thing I like is the stories behind the teachers and the connections they have to each other and other wizzarding families. I just don't like all of the "action" happening all at one time...I almost put the book down and gave up...but I knew something great was about to happen..or so I thought... This is not the best book starring Harry, but it was ok..if you have not purchased the book yet..wait for the paperback.

Summary: Nick Chu's Review: HP Book 5
Review: HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX
by Nick Chu, High School Sophomore

Wow. Wow...

I'm speechless, literally. (But I'm not typeless!)

One of the most magical features of the Harry Potter series is that it leaves you saying "Wow" over and over again. It transports you to a completely different universe, where you stay for a few days, until you jump back out from the pages and back into reality.

This 5th book and the 3rd book are my two favorites out of the series, and I would highly recommend it to a fervent fan.

Indeed, I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read for this summer, or if you just want to see what the hype is all about. One thing for sure: you'll definitely be entertained thoroughly!

In a nutshell,

GOOD

* Action-packed plot
* Wonderful diction and word choice
* More "show-writing" than "tell-writing"
* Can improve your vocabulary dramatically
* Awesome new characters (finally, a female Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher!)

BAD¡¡

* Might be too long for some young readers
* Some repetitive, long, dull parts

I hope I did my job of trying to state that this book is a worthwhile read, and at the same time not giving out any plot details. (By the way, the person who dies in this book will be someone you probably might not suspect, although he/she IS a major character. I really felt sad by his/her departure.)

But...don't just read this review! Read the book! You definitely won't regret it.

Take a vacation from this modern turbulent world. Stop thinking about wars and Iraq and SARS and Sadaam and everything other messed-up thing this world is pervaded with...take a while to step into a whole new enchanting dimension...don't let this Muggle world distract you! You need a break from stress now-a-days! In the words of J.K. Rowling, "don't let the Muggles get you down!"

Bottom line?

GO READ THE BOOK! (And you just might get an A on that next essay or get a promotion when your boss hears your newly developed high level of vocabulary.)

Summary: Harry's coming of age!
Review: I just finished the book, and I found it sad, endearing, and everything Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling has written a book full of frustrating emotions, and it appeals to all ages. The book started out with Harry's whirl wind of emotions, fear, of He-who-must-not-be-named, is back. Yet, Harry hasnt heard of any unexplained happenings, or heard much from his friends at Hogwarts. Harry is haunted, by dementors, and his own dreams. He is 16 now, and his emotions are that of any 16 year old. Yet his actions in this book, and the responsiblity he shows, the risk he takes, and the uncertain future he must face, show that Harry Potter is coming of age. He makes some new friends, and loses and old one. Harry now feels more alone than ever, it seems Dumbledore is even avoiding Harry. Dumbledore reveals a few tidbits in the end. Leaving Harry's uncertain future a little more certain. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is a secret(read the book if you want to know what it is). Yes, Its test time for our favorite students, Year 5 at Hogwarts won't be easy, a new teacher for DATDA(defense against the dark arts) and this person is far more worse than the last four. The stress Harry, Ron, and Hermoine are under, studying for the O.W.L.s and defeating a dark lord, are just the tips of the iceburg, of what they face this year. Want to more read the book. You are in for a world of magic, hormones, and of course the annoying Malfoy. Have fun, its a great read! I loved it and I am sure that if you have read, and enjoyed the other four, this one will leave you surprised, and awaiting year 6 at Hogwarts.

Summary: Best Read in a Year
Review: I got started on the harry potter books late in the series so I read all four within the space of a month. At the end, I was absolutely chomping at the bit waiting for the 5th book, Order of the Phoenix, to come out. It was quite worth the wait. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is easily the best (though longest) book in the series and adds some interesting plot twists. It also resolves some undeveloped clues and details from the previous books that adds to J.K.Rowling's mind tickling riddles. As usual her use of imagery not only paints a more enchanting mental picture of the wizarding world, but also serves the dual role of dropping more hints of unsolved plot twists. All in all, this was definately the best read of the year, and a book worth reading again and again.

Summary: A New Direction
Review: "The Order of the Phoenix" is a new type of Harry Potter story, resembling the last few dark chapters of Book 4 much more than the bright, happy beginnings of Book 1. This story, as readers have been shouting about the other books all along, is a mystery, not an action-adventure.

Those who haven't read the first four books will find themselves hopelessly confused after reading no more than a few pages, since Rowling doesn't spend much time reviewing anything that's already happened (contrary to the first three sequels). Even those who have "done their homework" may want to do some review of their own before diving straight into the new story.

While the book may not stand well on its own, it does fit beautifully into the saga. The "big picture" story is advanced a few giant steps as more threads of the mystery surrounding Voldemort are unraveled and more is revealed about the magical world in which Harry is growing ever more comfortable.

Summary: Well worth the wait!
Review: WOW! Honestly, I couldn't put it down, despite the fact that it took me three days (nearly nonstop) to finish. Many questions were answered, but just as many new ones were brought up. One of my favorite characters dies, as was rumored, and though it was not entirely unexpected, I'll miss him/her sorely. The Ministry of Magic's refusal to admit Voldemort's return only adds to the problems faced by Harry, who is gradually becoming more and more frustrated about everything in his life- and who can blame him?
At one point he even has doubts about his late parents, which I found particularly shocking as well. And though many exasperated fans were becoming skeptical after waiting for so long, the horribly tragic and action-packed climax was definetly well worth the wait. I even cried for a bit- that is some powerful literature!
Well, I suppose I should stop now in case I give away any spoilers. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that any and every fan of the Harry Potter series should GET THIS BOOK NOW!!! I promise you won't regret it.

Summary: Truly Amazing
Review: I picked up this book as soon as I received it in the mail, and was not satisfied until I finished! The development of the story and the character portrayals are very well done. It is a great addition to the series, Rowling was in great form when she wrote this. I was expecting a lot from this book, and it it did not disappoint!

Summary: Quite a good read....
Review: OK... I am not quite finished this book.... I am about 450 pages in, but I must say that I am liking this book...

One of the things that I am enjoying about this book is the sheer ammount of visual imagery that the author has added - that often does not appear in other novels - certainly not to this extent.

The novel builds on the previous novels, but you do not have to have read the previous ones to enjoy this book. There are a few times when I have been left thinking who is this character from a previous book. I guess I should have started re-reading book number one to four a few months back.

As I read, I find my mind jumping forward not only to wonder how this book is going to finish, but also to how the series is going to finish. I have a few ideas, but I will not speculate on those, apart from saying that the whole thing could end in a similar way to the Narnia books of C.S. Lewis.

This really is an enjoyable read - although I am a bit suspicious of the rated age for the book of 9-12. I really think that the book should have been broken into two to make it a bit more accessable for this age group - and something not so daunting for the young reader.

Anyway a great read.... Time to finish the book

Summary: Couldn't stop reading!
Review: It's a great book, no doubt about it -- but it felt a little bit like "the middle part" of the whole thing. Not much new stuff happens.
Harry is 15 now -- and he has become an angry teenager. Far from me to say he doesn't have enough reason for that, but he's less endearing that he was in the other books, in which he bore his misfortunes with far more grace. Harry's friends don't have a much better fate: some interesting things happen to Ronny, but Hermione -- poor thing -- seems to be there only to make her homework and force other people to study.
On the bright side, there are some new intriguing characters; we finally get to know the reason Voldemort wanted to kill baby Harry; and why - oh, why - Dumbledore let him be raised by his awful relatives. We also discover very exciting facts about James and Lily Potter, and - who would have guessed? - Severus Snape. Besides, Harry gets his first kiss! And yes, he does lose somebody dear and near.
All in all, it made for great hours of fun. I've spend the whole night reading the book -- it's that good.
