Summary: Amazing
Review: J.K. Rowling has done it again, in an adventure that is better than all the previous books, Harry Potter again proves that he is a staying-point in literature. This story has so many plot points and twists it would be impossible to explain them all here. My favorite characters (new) are Tonks (a shape-changer) and Luna Lovegood (a crazy witch who seems to be right most of the time). With the evil powers rising and Harry feeling new and more powerful emotions he must again fight the dark lord and also try to decipher the odd dreams he has had. With everyone from the old crowd back as well as a few newcomers Harry sees The ORder of the Phoenix (a group of anti-Voldemort wizards and witches), the Ministry of Magic, new creatures, and a new teacher who has a bad air about her (despite her constant smile). Harry battles nasty teachers, giants, centaurs, Death-Eaters, and many other dangers. With a horrible death and an explanation of all that has happened to Harry and a preview of what will come of Harry Potter is given by Dumbledore. I just hope that J.K. Rowling has two (and hopefully more) books that she can give the public, I know I'll be waiting eagerly for it.

Summary: wow....
Review: well.. depending on what you wanted and expected to happen is what makes the book enjoyable or unenjoyable 2 u... i went into it with an open mind hoping that no one would die.. unfortunatly the rumor was confirmed to be true.. this book does not dimish our spirits that were raised at the end of book four... instead it feeds our hopes and our nightmares... the end is not as much of a cliffhanger as in book four where we did not know at all what was going to happen.. also this book is very unusual and conflicting ((at least to me0) because so many things change and seem well idiotic... currently there are too many feelings to actualy explain the book to anyone because i usually read the book more then once... ((which i am starting to do tonight right after i finished it)) and for those of you who are extremely emotional and very involved i think you might need a box of tissues because it does get sad at one point.. and it almost made me cry... well I hope you read it and like it... this is another success for Rowling.. and now we will all again be waiting in anticipation for the next book ((if anyone has any info on it please tell me!!))

Summary: She's done it again....
Review: Harry finally returns to us, and it was worth the wait. For us at least--not sure about him.

JK Rowling has again shown her imagination and creativity, as well as her understanding of humanity (teenaged boys especially), and has given us a compelling book, again geared toward an older audience than the first three.

Harry's charmed life at Hogwarts--celebrity, youngest Quidditch player in a century, humble, bright, gifted--begins to unravel a bit, and he has quite a lousy year at school. But not to fear--it gets really awful after that.

The book is as compelling as the first four, and quite a quick read in spite of its imposing size.

Excellent effort. The only thing that saddened me more than the well-publicized death is the realization that I've only two more books to read, and then I'll be saying good-bye to Harry forever.

Summary: More compelling then ever before
Review: J.K. Rowling is obviously maturing as a writer even as Harry matures as a main character. Throughout this book plot twists and exciting new developements are happening every other page, and with the extended book size (857 pages) that's a lot of plot twists. The new character in the book (Dolores Umbridge) is probably the most easy to hate villain in a book that I have ever read. Every page J.K. Rowling devizes more ways for Dolores to get in Harry's way and every chapter a new rule is created, Including an interesting and very annoying "life ban" on Quidditch, thus taking out another important part of the previous books. At the end of the book my favorite character dies, no, this isn't another "important character" like Cedric, an actual character dies, someone who is very close to Harry and adds yet another burden to his troubled life.

Summary: I can't believe it's over already!
Review: I absolutely adored this book. While it did seem to drag in parts, I think it's because I was so eager to get to the climax. I certainly hope I don't have to wait 3 years for the next one!

Summary: Quite simply, the best.
Review: Having just completed the book a day after it has been released, I will not say what it is about. It is the best of the series, without a doubt. The detail of the book is superb, and the story better. If you read the first 4, reading this should be your top priority. If you haven't read any of them, it is worth reading the first 4 just to get to this one.

Summary: great 5th book
Review: this was a great follow up to the previous hp book. took me about 9-10 hours to read, but well worth the time. i plan to take it with me on my trip to read again. the ending was kind of vauge, but it doesn't take away from the book as a whole.

Summary: Excellent
Review: The Order of the Phoenix is constantly being described as dark by most reviews. While that is basically correct, it is better described as a constant series of downturns. It often feels as if the world is against our hero(s) throughout most of the book. This can be very frustrating for the reader. Despite this, the book is every bit as much of a page turner as the others (even if you have to take a break every once in a while in order to vent your frustration at how the characters are being treated.) Readers can also look forward to the most detailed of the 5 books. This book reveals quite a bit about the workings of the Ministry of magic as well as the wizarding community as a whole. You will also get more insight into a few of the key character's backgrounds and personality. There are also secrets revealed about Harry's past, and his future. As far as plot I would say that this book is the best of the five. However, it may prove not to be my favorite book to read, simply because of the frustration that can be felt while reading it. I am not disapointed in this book at all. It perfectly sets up the last two books to describe the final battle between the good and evil wizards. To quote another review I have read "This is the Empire Strikes Back of the Harry Potter series."

Summary: Rowling's still got IT!
Review: Year 5 starts off full of excitement and doesn't stop for 870 pages. WOW!! How often can you read a book that long and still wish you had more to go on.

The Order of the Pheonix begins as all the books begin describing Harry's life with the Dursleys. Harry is once again having a fight with Dudley when they are attacked by two Dementors.

From there the book just keeps getting better and better. Rowling has followed Harry, now 15, into his adolescence in such a manner that I could see my own fifteen year old son in his moods and mannerisms. In addition to all the regular characters, Rowling has brought back characters from the earlier books (including another hilarious turn from Gilderoy Lockharte), so you might want to refresh yourself with the older books if it's been a while since you read them.

Start to finish, just another great read. I was worried the book couldn't live up to the hype, but it far exceeded by expectations. Here's hoping we don't have to wait three years for Year 6.

Special kudos to Amazon for having my book waiting for me in my PO Box first thing on June 21st!

Summary: Possibly the best in the series
Review: This book is awesome, the best in the series. It not only shows new innovations in Rowlings magical world that we all love, but goes much beyond this, showing changes and newness in Harry himself. This book tells a coming of age story that we can all relate to, and is recommended for any reader of any age. There is just so much there, we can all relate. Go get this book now if you do not already own it, and get ready to be amazed.
