Summary: Ho Hum
Review: i have to confess a sense of relief when i reached the end of the book. it seemed a rework of the previous 4 novels and was a real effort to maintain any sense of interest. when it got to the death of one of the main characters i really didn't care anymore. it is reminiscent of the later series of a popular tv show when it is difficult to come up with any earth shattering revelations by season 5. who knows, maybe harry potter will catch it in book 6. but hey, it's still good material for die hard fans. however, i'd recommend a Philip Pullman book instead....

Summary: Very Good Book!!
Review: I just finished this book today. wow, what a great book! it seems to be in a some what different style though. Well, just a little bit. It is basically the same style but with a few allterations. Order of Phoenix, it seems to me is more a physcholgical thriller than a childrens book. it makes you mind work and has a very intricate plot. After reading this book i looked back at the previous 4 and even goblet of fire seemed to have the simplest plot!! The plot is very complex and many strange happenins occure durring this year. but may i warn you, this is a much darker book. It seems to take a minor tone right from the begining and that minor tone never leaves. Harry is growing up, and is braving through the pains of adolesence. he is a lot more angry and is prone to throw tantrums, and at first it seemed a little out of character to me but then i realized that it, in some cases, was perfectly justified to react angrily because so many bad things have happend to harry in the past 5 years that it all just kind of builds up and explodes in the "order of the phoenix". I also found it to be quite depressing in the end w/ the death and all. i wont' say who died because i don't want to ruin it but it made the book take turn for the worse for harry. overall this was a great book and really showed harry in an adolesence stage all teens can related to, from his angry tantrums, to his first date and finally his dealing of death. I would highly reccomend this book, but i would also highly reccomend reading the previous 4 in the series. It would not make ANY sense at all really if you didn't have any background knowledge on the harry potter subject and it would make for a more enjoyable read. Also, don't be intimidated by its size. i roared right through this book in 2 days!! i was pacing my self too, i could have finished it in one! once again i would highly reccomend this book to read/buy

Summary: Worth the wait!
Review: Rowling did a wonderful job with this book, especially with expanding Harry's emotions--he's much more angry in this book, but she captures him very well. After spending all day reading the book until I was done, I'm hoping she finishes the other two books quicker then this last one, but as she has a new baby, I can understand if it takes a while!

Summary: An excellent read
Review: I just have to say J.K. Rowling has outdone herself again. The book is excellent, though a bit on the dark side. But some things were essential to the plot, so *shrugs* This one is very emotional, it has you on the edge of your seat for most of the journey. Though I knew she was going to be killing off a major character, I wish she hadn't played with us so much with the different characters being so near injured. I wanted to jump up and go No! when Ron was on the floor, Hermione was hit, etc. It kept you guessing till the end, so it's the mark of a good story. I wish now I hadn't had friends to tell me such and such was happening or who was gone, I think I would have enjoyed it more. So don't let your friends tell you everything! But it is an excellent book. I would recommend it to all the Harry Potter fans who haven't bought it yet. It answers a lot of questions you may have had and brings even more into the mix. I can't wait for the 6th one to come around. Any hints Ms. Rowling? :]

Summary: Amazing
Review: This was definitly a darker book than the first four and I don't think I liked it as much as book three (because Lupin didn't have as big as a part). I won't spoil it for the people who haven't read it (or are still reading it...as I hope most of you are). Obviously you have to get it and read it if you are at all interested in Harry Potter. There were a few confusing bits of information that were left unanswered but with JK Rowling that is expected...those strange "horses" bothered me...how about you?

Summary: the best book I've ever read...

Summary: J.K. Rowling has got the magic touch
Review: I loved this book. It was worth the wait. This is one book that will be sure to keep you turning the pages unable to put it down. It starts out with a bang. Keep reading through the Black House scenes and get ready for a new roller coaster ride at Hogwarts. Harry is angry through much of the book. It bothered me a bit until the end when as usual it all came together. I loved the Weasley twins exit scene. The book left me wanting more information and longing for the sixth book to be in my hands. I can not wait to share this book with the kids at school. As a librarian I was a little concerned about the few cuss words that pop up in the book. I feel they could have been left out as I am sure some parents will object to the book because of them and miss out on some of the truly great parts that would be good spring boards for discussion with your teens. While I will share it with all the grades I am pretty sure the length will keep most from reading the whole book until the are late elementary or middle school age.

Summary: Another Classic
Review: At 800+ pages there might be some worry of the story dragging, but Rowling has put together the most intriguing story in the series yet. Harry Potter is back and he is angry. Rowling has fleshed out Harry Potter by breaking the stereotypical nice version of Potter and adding to his personality makeup. Harry is confronted by numerous pressures and concerns and reacts in a way completely in touch with that of a teenager. Harry seems less like a superhero and more like a fallable human being who feels the pressure of his highly unusual life. Rowling is suceeding at keeping Potter relevant to all age groups by allowing him to grow and change. This keeps him identifiable to people across the age spectrum. The only draw back to the book is knowing that it moves the series ever closer to its inevitable conclusion. Hopefully she will continue to add a few hundred pages to each succeeding tale. Like all in the series, a must read for any lover of words and the English language.

Summary: good but not the best
Review: I liked this book, but compared to her previous four, it was much too serious. I felt like the whole time it was instructions for the movie. Although I am happy to see Ginny get a personality, and it would be a lie if I said I'm not going to read it again.

Summary: Very Good Book
Review: I stood in line for over an hour to get this book. This book has been proved worth the wait. definetly some suprising part, and very sad ones as well. It is no wonder it took J.K. Rowling so long to write this book. I won't give any hints, But this book got my brother to read, and he never reads any thing. Even though this is the longest book in the series, You won't be able to put it down.
