Summary: Boring and desperately needing editing
Review: For uncritical youngsters, already immersed in the world of Harry Potter, this book continues to please.

However, I found it very poorly written, with little memorable dialogue, repetitive scenes, and poorly constructed sub-plots (as pointed out by numerous other reviewers). Harry is essentially unlikeable in this book, with his constant complaining and self-pity. While that may be an important part of Ms Rowling's over-riding vision for the series, we don't need 800 pages of it!

I very much hope that Ms Rowling allows an editor more input into her next attempt.

Summary: Not the best of the series, perhaps overly hyped
Review: I'm sure many will disagree with me, but the latest book in the 'HP' series is not the best. As many other reviews have said, it's far too long and is in dire need of editing.

The problems are mostly plot related. For instance, Hagrid and his mission? When he finally returns in some capacity the subplot that explains his disappearance seems to have come from left field.

However, my main nitpick is the 'character death' and it's effects on Harry.

***SPOILERS!!!!***
Sirius is not a major character for me. I spent most of Book 3 thinking he was the bad guy. In Book 4 he makes the occaisonal appearance, but not enough to adequately make me think that Harry would become attached to him. In Book 5 both Sirius and Harry are angry. If JK Rowling had somehow allowed them to bond, somehow establish a relationship, then his death would have had more meaning for me. I honestly thought Dumbledore, Hagrid or one of the Weasley's would die.

However, perhaps I should suspend judgement until Books 6 and 7 come out. I do recommend reading the book, but perhaps borrow it or buy it on sale.

Summary: WHY ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS?
Review: Anyone who does not give this book 5 stars is lying to themselves. This book was amazing. It was not long and drawn out. And it had plenty of action. If you want more action... go read a war book or something. But dont clog up the reviews with nonsense like "not as good as i hoped". PLEASE. GO WHINE TO SOMEONE WHO CARES!

This was another amazing and captivating book in the Harry Potter series. Harry is in his fifth year at Hogwarts and strange things are happening once again. Dementors show up in Little Whinging Surrey. The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is horrible. And someone VERY close to Harry dies. Could it be Ron? Hermione? Hagrid?

Youll just have to read it to find out.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix
Review: I thought this was phenomenon. This book was full of suspense and action. Harry is having these awful dreams, which wake him up in the middle of the night. He also almost got expelled from Hogwarts for using magic out of school. Harry then is taken to The Order of Phoenix. The Order is a group of witches and wizards trying to stop Voldemort. When Harry gets back to Hogwarts there is a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who is very mean and works for the Ministry of Magic. Everyone dislikes the new teacher. I would definitely recommend this book. I really enjoyed reading it and I know you will too.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix
Review: I loved Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. Harry is dying to get away from the Dursleys but all be finds is a moody girlfriend, an unfair headmaster, Dumbledore never around, and only so much comfort from Sirius. But with Voldemort on the loose he has even more to worry about; including a reoccurring dream.
I thought the book was a little annoying because of Harry's moodiness. It also felt like the book was never-ending because of how long it was. But it had good qualities as well. It was good that he was so moody because it was realistic. and even though it's longer, it shows a lot of feeling so it's easier to relate to Harry. It was a bit easier to read because of all the twists and funny parts. It was also very refreshing to have new and funny characters; and have Fred and George up to even more mischief. I liked it and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read something exciting.

Summary: The only thing better than a Harry Potter book is.....
Review: WOWIE! ZOWIE! 27 hours of Harry Potter on CD. You can drive halfway across the country--or fly from Chicago to Pittsburgh--while listening to it! Great listening, terrific production. Don't leave home without it!

Summary: The 5th book of the series Harry Potter
Review: Harry Potter tries to defeat a powerful wizard named Lord Voldemort. Lord Voldemort killed Harrys parents when he was just a baby, he also tried to kill Harry but the spell back fired and almost killed him. He was having to survive by living on another wizard or being taken care of by his people that worshiped him and they are called death eaters. In Harrys forth year of wizarding school Lord Voldemort returned by killing a boy and taking his soul. Voldemort tricked Harry by getting in his mind and showing him where to go to find what they call a prophecy. The prophecy was under Harrys name so he was the only one who could get it, Voldemort wanted to see what it had said because it was made before Harry was born and what it says is very important to him! The Order of The Phoenix is a group of wizards who try and defeat Lord Voldemort.
I liked when Harry was able to spend time with his godfather Sirius Black. It was sad when Sirius got killed trying to save Harry from being killed by Voldemort at the Department of Mysteries. I recommend people to read not only this book but the whole series to understand what's going on through out the book. The dialogue is very believable, every body talks in an understandable way. Harry has flashbacks about his parents deaths, and the past years at school. I like all the characters except the mean ones because they are evil. She is a great writer she has a great imagination to come up with books like this.

Summary: The best so far!
Review: Before this book was released, I was nervous that it wouldn't live up to my expectations--but it surpassed them! The fifth book in Rowling's delicious series is by far the darkest and most mature so far. I read the 800-plus pages in two days and it left me hungry for more. I would give it more than five stars if I could. If you've read the previous books, continue on... they just get better and better as you go on. I can't wait until the sixth book is released!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Review: Harry, Hermione, and Ron are back in this fun-filled adventure of action, love, and friendship. Voldermort's return has made all the witches and wizards uneasy, and Harry can sense danger is near. Harry has been having weird dreams lately of a mysterious door and voldermort. Harry has saved a muggle's life and almost got expelled for it that made me mad. Then Harry has found himself in the hideout of the newly formed Order of the Phoenix. Then Harry is back at hogwarts his own true home, with a new defense against the dark arts teacher who is wicked with despair. But she doesn't teach them spells instead she makes them read the defense against the dark arts book. The ministry of magic is scared Dumbeldore has frightened everyone that Voldermort is back. So the students figured a way to practice magic and nobody would find out. But then something dreadful happens and the teacher becomes the headmaster of hogwarts. But Harry has a strange dream of Sirius in trouble and he knows where. But when harry gets there it was a trap to get him killed again. Then Voldermort and Dumbeldore show up and they duel it out. I had got mad when they had almost expelled Harry for saving someones life. Then the headmaster was a mean old lady doing wicked things to the Gryffindors'. I would recommend this book to anyone because it will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through.

Summary: Down Right Amazing!!!
Review: This book, like the first four, captures the characters emotions of each character. Harry is now aproaching the age of 16, like myself, and I find that J.K. Rowling has developed Harry into a normal teenager. Eventhough Harry has been through so much during his live, he still has the same emotions as any teenager.I feel that if I was in Harrys' situation, I would be feeling exactly what he is feeling in the book. I love this book, mainly because the reader is finding out more about James and Lily Potter. We find out how they were when they were Harry's age. I hope to see more of that in the next book. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a must-read. I highly recommend it.
