Summary: Absolutely magical.
Review: The Order of the Phoenix was wonderful! J.K. Rowling continues to develop Harry's character and it is a pleasure to watch him grow. Harry Potter fans won't be disappointed in the fifth installment. I eagerly await the next one...

Summary: IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!!!!
Review: I was worried that with all the hype about the book that it would be a disappointment, but it definately was worth waiting for!! I finished the book last night & couldn't hardly put it down (Read it in 2 days). It is much darker than the previous books and Harry is becoming a very, very angry boy. He has had so much happen to him & has seen so much.

The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is an utter nightmare. I have to say that I could pit her against Snape and I'm not sure who would win. You learn a few interesting facts about Snape in this book also.

I don't want to give too much away but I will say that knowing that someone was going to die made the whole book more suspenseful. Too many people end up in perilous situations and you wonder, will it be this person? I was on pins and needles through the whole second half of the book. I was upset with who died, but I guess I can't have my way or none of the main characters would ever die.

The book does end with a bang. The whole end "fight" scene was amazing!! We finally do learn a lot about the mysterious things in Harry's past. Things make a lot more sense now about why things are happening to him.

I have to encourage any Harry Potter fan to READ THIS BOOK!!! If you haven't ever read Harry Potter I would suggest reading the first 4 books before this one. It would help keep your facts straight. It is a darker and sometimes more depressing book but I absolutely Loved It!!!

Summary: Rowling delivers
Review: J K Rowling has got teeming hordes of fans, waiting with bated breath for the next in the series.... and she delivers.... more or less what is expected of her from her fans..

On the bright side, the book is a positive page-turner - I finished it in 24 hours, waiting to see what would happen next. On the negative side, nothing (really major) happens. The first few hundred pages of the books just seem to be passing time before the main plot gets going.

The characters in this book are well fleshed out, much better than the previous ones, and in different shades of grey rather than simple black and white. Harry reveals his human side -besides his usual heroic one. Rowling cannot resist putting in some philosophical and moralistic elements (well woven into the plot,as is her wont), but they are few and far between.

The plot to me seemed a bit weak, not as complex as in some of the previous books, but the level of detail has been maintained -not as much as in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings but as not inconsequential as Perry Mason or James Hadley Chase either.

The book follows the convention set out in the previous books - starting with Harry's privations at the Dursleys and going on his problems and then adventures at Hogwarts, and ending with his return home... with the readers now salivating and waiting for book 6 - Harry Potter and the Green Torch Flame ?

Summary: WOW!
Review: J. K. Rowling just gets better with each new adventure for Harry Potter and his friends. Like her previous books, once you start reading the book becomes almost like a "portkey" that grabs you by the navel and makes it hard to put down. I started it the afternoon I got it and by the time I should have been ready to call it a night and finish the next day, I was so well hooked I stayed up to finish it. I'm already starting to re-read it.

While I continue to be impressed by the Harry Potter stories, I will say that J. K. Rowling is expecting children to be able to handle a more grown up story. There may be a few children who are just too young for this story right now, but that is probably for their parents to decide. As Harry grows older, the plots have matured as well. Like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, there is a death in this book, but the death is one of the characters whom Rowling considers a "major character." Rowling said that it was a difficult death to write, and I say it is a difficult death to read. This is just one of the ways that the book is dark (and more adult).

While most of the book is dark, as Rowling admited in at least one interview I saw somewhere, there are definate moments where you remember that Harry and most of his friends are just teenagers. For example, the Weasley twins help make their watchers (and the readers) laugh at their lastest antics (which I'm sure Mrs. Weasley would not approve of).

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was worth the wait. Questions that have risen up in the four previous books are answered, but in true J. K. Rowling fashion, she did leave enough questions left to make you wonder when Harry and his friends are going back to Hogwart's and what will that adventure envolve.

Summary: OMG
Review: I loved this book! It was much different from the other four. But good all the same. I cried near the end. Now I just want to the other two to come out. Harry goes through some changes in this book and he gets angry at alot of stuff, and I wouldn't blame him. One of the characters in the book is so annoying, which she is supposed to be but its infuriating. Now I am just waiting for the others to come out. I think I am just gonna go read it agian lol.

Summary: Harry and Pals have REALLY turned into Teenagers!
Review: I am the headmistress of wizardmansion.com and we were all awaiting the newest chapters in the lives of our friends Hermione, Ron and Harry. We are pleased and delighted that the lives of these kids reflex real teen stages. Yes we know it is about "He who must not be named" but the interaction of these friends is right on target for teen angst and internalizing of emotions. Harry is a hoot as he feels jealous then guilty for feeling jealous then feels misunderstood and underappreciated. If you have teenagers in your house you know that it is all about them.....lol Meaning: We are pleased to note that the tendancys of Muggle teens is passed on to the Wizard Teens also. Right down to Hermione sounding grown and Ron and Harry acting like little boys one minute and Men grown the next. JK you have done really well. The books have always been about Choices and the choices you have offered our friends in this book are superb! Well done!

Summary: He's back!
Review: I will need to re-read this book because I know I read it so fast that I must have missed things. However, Harry does it again!

Harry and company are growing up and it shows. Rowling captures the mercurial quality of Harry's emotions perfectly. How can anyone expect Harry to be perfectly civil all the time given what he has been through? There are plenty of foes this time around. Not just people, but, the emotional battles Harry must go through.

Rowling sets the stage perfectly for the next books. She is clearly letting everyone know that she means business from here on out. To that end, this book was not *nearly* long enough.

I don't understand why people are upset with the "dark" tones. Disney films are loaded with dark currents and imagery (not to mention, death).

At any rate, it was a pleasure to be back in Rowling's world.

Summary: Too Long
Review: On Friday night, I went to the Barnes and Noble Store and finally obtained my copy at 1 10 AM. Over the weekend, I managed to finish reading the book.

Without giving out spoilers, I only wish to say that the book is too long. It takes an enormous 220 pages for Harry Potter to reach Hogwarts.

In my opinion 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' is the best book of the series and I look forward to more sharp books in the future from J. K. Rowling.

Summary: Am I supposed to care?
Review: As a devoted fan and ardent follower of JK Rowling's work, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But, the truth must be told, and here it is. Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix (now brace yourself) is a bad book.

Hear me out: The plot, granted, thickens, and the story has potential to be touching, but this information is presented to you in a way as to be colorless. Harry, fast becoming an exemplary raging delinquent, causes you to become vaguely annoyed with him and not the least bit sympathetic. None of the other characters have developed, and seemed much the same as the day they arrived at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. And as for the infamous death scene, I was getting so exasperated with the character I didn't remotely care when he died.

All in all, the book seems to have no depth, and JK Rowling's style is getting some what repetitive. I was reeled into the hype and preordered my copy, and I assure you - never again.

Summary: Excellent, as i expected
Review: The only problem with the book i had was that it was sooooo big, so it was hard to read COMFORTABLY! but other than that, i will not ruin it for people. I love the whole series of books, and this was wonderful. JK is so creative and imaginitive, i just can't believe it! I am in awe from the book, and I couldn't even put it down. It is always like i am right there in the book. I recommend this book to children, all ages, Adults any age. WHOEVER!
