Summary: Could have been better
Review: I was so excited to have received the 5th Harry Potter book 20 minutes after midnight. I could not wait to read it. During the duration of my reading I was surprised to find many of the characters were not acting as they had in the previous books. I was glad that I did read this book, but I was somewhat unhappy with my findings. I do wish everyone to read it.

Summary: An All-Nighter
Review: And so, the much awaited Harry Potter arrives. And after three years, faithful Rowling delivers exactly what Harry Potter fans like me want--suspense, mystery, fear, love...when I first picked up the Sorcerer's Stone, I was 10--Harry's age. I'm now a few months short of fifteen--again, Harry's age. I've watched him grow up as I (less excitingly) do the same. And onto the book...

What can I say about the plot? Nothing much. I daren't disturb the tension of such a highly-awaited book with a single misplaced comment. Spoilers are the enemy! But what I can say is this: the tone was remarkably different. I just finished it half an hour ago and my emotions are still roller-coastering. I never quite knew who was good and who was bad. The foretold and dreaded death was just as heart-wrenching as I had feared. I was shocked by how bitter and angry Harry was--but after all he's been through, who can blame him?

My advice: go read the book. Some people say that J.K. Rowling can't write, is evil, is silly, is stuck-up and rich and...they couldn't be more wrong. They don't even know what they're missing out on.

Summary: Best Book Yet! ::No Spoilers in here::
Review: Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix is perhaps the best book I have read yet! I have completed reading this entire book just last night and I must say, it was probably the most detailed of all the books in the collection. I give this book Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix a 5 star rating for how detailed it was, how the author has seem to capture the teenage essence, and for yet another brilliant story that comes from J.K. Rowling's creative and powerful imagination. I was a little disappointed when I finished the book merely because the next book (Book #6) isnt out yet, so yet I must wait for the story of Harry Potter to continue. So until then I will be waiting for the release of the next book.

Summary: Are you ready for a much more realistic Harry?
Review: OK, so I am one of the "geeks" who stood in line to get my copy of this book in the early hours of Saturday morning. It took me almost a full day to read it, and I was left feeling satisfied.

I find the Harry Potter novels to be full of fun and fantasy, even if they are very "dark". There is no "happily ever after" here.

In the case of the Order of the Phoenix, the novel is thoroughly enjoyable. J.K. Rowling has spent a lot more time on character development, making 15 year-old Harry much more realistic. In so doing, though, Harry becomes an angry brooding teenager who is not always so likeable.

To make teenaged life even more difficult, Harry also learns that life isn't black and white, and that people are not just "good" or "evil". (He also has tries to understand girls, which, of course, is impossible.)

The pages seemed to fly by - which to me is the best recommendation of all!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Review
Review: I ablsolutely loved this new harry potter! i read it for 15 straight hours! J.K. Rowling has done it again and this time with more detail and wonders yet seen before! It starts off interesting from the very first page and you find yourself not putting it down as harry and his friends go through many new things some hard and some not so hard including harry's first relationship, his first time having a different headmaster, being banned from the quidditch team, Fred and George Weasley's never ending pranks and much much more! I hope anyone who is a harry potter fan reads this book and to all of you who arent well you should start reading it because they are the best books i have ever read and I have read many books!

Summary: new potter book somber but good
Review: I finished this about 5 this morning, and i have to say that I found it rather glum. DO NOT missunderstand me this book is fantastic, Rowling's writing brings out a flood of emotions, and keept me spellbound through all 850 some odd pages. This is a must read for everyone. Just don't expect a cheary feel good story, this is by far the darkest and scariest book in the series, but in my openion the best so far. My advice get it, read it, and reread it countless times, I know I will.

Summary: A Fine Continuation
Review: The fifth installment of the wonderful Harry Potter series continues JK Rowling's trend in making each book deeper and more complex than the last. This meshes very well with the main characters growing up through the series, but by this fifth book results in a plot with a weight of so many different threads that it is no longer quite the unstoppable page turner of the earlier books. Nonetheless, it is an excellent addition to the series, one I strongly recommend to fans of the previous stories.

Those new to Harry Potter should instead start with the original _Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone_. While each book is written to stand on its own, _Harry Potter and The Order of the Pheonix_ relies heavily on the background from the other books, and each is book is better when first read in sequence.

Summary: Frustrating, Fun and Fast Paced
Review: That is the best ways to describe the new Harry Potter Novel. I read this book in three days, and enjoyed every minute. I laughed outloud, cheered outloud and absolutely loved this book!

The plot is fun, fast and frustrating. (If you've read it or are reading it you understand.) I think that JK Rowling has given another good look into her Wizarding world, and not disapointed us. She allows us to see characters in a new light, and makes us feel closer and more connected to them. JK Rowling's gave me more than I ever thought I wanted to know about characters in this novel. She complete questions, thoughts and ideas from the past few books. And she gives Harry a new voice...but you'll have to read it, because there is no need to spoil what you can enjoy yourself!

Even if your concerned that your children can't finsh this 870 page book, don't fret, they will! Even if it takes them all Summer Break!

Happy Reading, Muggles!

Summary: Keep it coming...
Review: I wasn't even going to buy this book until later in the summer, but I just couldn't resist. The beginning seems a little dark and it starts out slow (with a lot of new characters), but it is worth it. The emotions that Harry feels throughout the book do an excellent job of leading the reader up to the the amazing ending. I can't wait for the next installment-- even though I know it will be awhile!

Summary: Did not live up to expectations
Review: As a pretty big, though hardly rabid, fan of Harry Potter, I like many others eagerly awaited the release of the fifth book. I was overjoyed to see that it was 870 pages and set to reading it as soon as I could. When I was done, I felt that I hadn't read anything. Within the near-900 pages of text, what I felt had happened would have taken up more like 400 pages. I expected it to be darker, of course, but the book wasn't dark so much as it was almost tedious in its continuous unhappiness and frustration. Hogwarts doesn't seem like the Hogwarts of the past four books, and there are some definite gaps that weren't covered. Whatever happened to the Yule Ball and Moaning Myrtle? The big revelations don't come until the end, and somehow, they don't seem so relevant and a bit out of context. I know what part is supposed to be the climax, but personally, I didn't feel it. There were, admittedly, some very cute moments that I reread after the first read-through. I give this book 4 stars for its redeeming quality: that Harry, Ron and Hermione are there. If the book was not part of the Harry Potter series, I would truthfully give it a 3.
