Rating: Summary: Very Good Book - was worth the wait Review: Well, overall, this book is a very good read, and, as stated above, was worth the long wait. However, I feel that the book dragged on just a bit too much. I feel more time should have been given to the OWLs and other much more important stuff then what JKR gave them. An upper side to this story is that Harry is no longer an inoccent kid but, finally, a real teen (as have been said by many before me). He is having many emotions swell inside of him at once, and he goes on to date Cho Chang. However, I feel that JKR should not have seperated the two, but let them stay as a "couple". I think that the death of the certain character wass very unexpected and I felt a real shock at what happened by the end of the book. I was dissapointed with what Dumbdore told Harry at the end...a very short "everything"... But, there a few funny moments in this book that made me really laugh. We visit many interesting places we have never been to before, we meet new people, some of which were pointless really, but nonetheless amusing. We see that the "kids" can take care of themselves. So, again an interesting read, cant wait for book number six. Well done JKR
Rating: Summary: A brilliant book Review: After reading this book i have established that it was one of the best books i have ever read and i can't wait until the next book comes out. Straight away your into the book and Harry hasn't even got to school yet. Every single sentence keeps you wondering whats going to happen next....
Rating: Summary: 5th book is completely different from the others Review: I had finished reading this book and i must say it is not the greatest book in the Harry Potter series but still it is good. I just found that there was too much detail and too much extra information and subplots that dosen't lead to anywhere. But you would find Harry suffering through the usual "teenager life" and it shows that even the hero has weaknesses. I enjoyed reading the book but sometimes I got aggrivated by Harry because I thought he had asked too many questions and didn't understand much at all and mostly had to be reasoned by his companions. I just thought that many questions and the connection with Harry and Voldemort would be answer and I thought that the connection was more complex but of course Rowling is sure of saving it until the 7th book so you find some of your questions answered. But i still don't really understand the connection yet because I think that Dumbledore still hasn't fully explained it to Harry maybe because of his age or maybe it was more complex for Harry's mind to let it sink in. I just thought that it took 3 years to write and i thought it was too long. The first 4 books were great they followed each other and it was continous but i thought that the 5th book was a little off and that Rowling could have written the 5th book earlier and tie it in more with the earlier books. So for people who expects another great book just give it a break because even the greatest writers like Rowling may stumble but still i thought this book was all right. So for the people who read it don't expect this book to be like the others because it is totally different and i feel great contempt and sadness when [censored] died. also i read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 7 days!!
Rating: Summary: Best Harry Potter yet! Review: This book is great. It shows that young adolescents always face the troubles of increasing age. When Harry finds that Voldemort can see into his mind and that Harry can be in Voldemort's mind, things start changing. Then there's that thing about love. Will Harry ever get kissed or get a girlfriend? Maybe but who knows? There are many surprises in this book and you'd be a fool not to pick up this book.
Rating: Summary: A Good Start Review: This book was more of a rough draft than a final polished story. Most of the characters were still stuck in the same mold they've had since book one. Harry, though, who becomes this angry kid, grates against the senses as the neglected teenager. His anger while justified does not evoke much sympathy, but rather just annoys the hell out of the reader through most of the book. Besides all of this, the book is much too dark and violent for its intended audience, children. The book had some great scenes though, and it seemed like it could have been great from cover to cover with more time and revision.
Rating: Summary: This is defintly the best book in the series!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: Harry potter and the Order of the Phoenix is one of the best books I have ever read, it keeps you reading through the whole book. J.K Rowling definetly uses the characters feelings & emotions a lot better in this book; all of the other books didn't seem like the characters were acting as they should in certain places. You really must use your imagination in this book, in a lot of places the author leaves out a lot of description that most other authors would have put in, this makes this book 1 of a kind, I highly recommend it to any one with any imagination of any sort. Although this book is 870 pages long, it goes quite fast, (me not having alot of time to read)finished the book in 4 days averging over 200 pages a day. Another good thing about this book is that nothing seems to be out of line from the other books, all of the characters seem to be acting & maturing mentally (except for 1 person but I'm not telling)as if they were all real. A lot of your questions from the other books will be answerd in this book, some of them will be very unexpecteded. A lot of things happen in the begining of the book that seem very out-of-character, but when you reach the end of the book you will realize that it was somthing that has been a long time coming. This book definetly sustains the reign of of the great Harry Potter series. This book will leave you thinking that it was too short, but in reality J.K Rowling couldn't have squeazed in any more action and adventure into one book than she already has without it being unreasonable for some people to read. Over all this is the best book of the series because of the sustaining adventure & action, not having any boring points it was a joy to read. I can't wait until the next book comes out; it will be hard to beat this book, but you never know until you try. All I can say is that this book recieves top ratings from me, & probably you if you read this grreat one of a kind book by the great author J.K. Rowling.
Rating: Summary: Great Book, Best Ever. Review: I really enjoyed this book thoroughly. I loved all the characters, and the book was rich in information. The biggest book yet in the series, I believe it is also the best one. The main characters show up more in the book (unlike 'Goblet Of Fire', which only centered around the mostly main characters, like Harry, Hermione, and Ron,) and the book is even darker than the last one, making it the darkest one yet. The book was superb and was different than the others. Harry seems much more mature than he has ever been, and gets angry and emotional very much. The book delves into his emotions and his feelings, and we sometimes feel as though we are feeling Harry's emotions. Harry grows more mature feelings for his friends and others, such as his crush, Cho Chang. He falls in and out of love with her, sometimes getting upset for what her emotions are like. Harry also feels more destined to help save people, like he has done so many times before. The book is great and is so wonderfully made, that you can not miss out on it. But watch out for the end, it ends on a very sad and emotional note, leaving an ending for yet another rich installment. Overall, the best book in the series. J.K. Rowling knows her stuff, and does it best. I can not wait for the last two installments, and hopefully they will be as good as this one. Great writing, Ms. Rowling!
Rating: Summary: BEST IN THE SERIES Review: ALL I Can say is..let no one tell you this isn't a wonderful addition to the series...it adds depth and maks you think..I loved it!!!!
Rating: Summary: Harry is a little too angry. Review: I waited (like everyone else) for what seemed like ever for this one. I was a little disappointed with Harry's rage. In many respects, it is to be expected (he's had a hard life and he is a teenager) but part of what makes Harry so endearing is that he is still such a great, sweet and likeable kid in spite of everything he has gone through. I know that all is not well in the wizarding world, but part of me wants to feel good at some point during the book. That being said, I think that Rowling once again demonstrates the ability to keep readers enthralled and craving more (at least I am). Not the best of the series, but given the build up and the wait, it was probably next to impossible to live up to everyones expectations. I am still anxiously awaiting number 6!!!
Rating: Summary: Okay Review: I didn't think it moved the story forward to much. Goblet of Fire was better. The death scene of anticlimatic. Still can't wait for the next one.
