Summary: Nothing less than brilliant
Review: JK Rowling has done it again. A fantastic fantastical novel. Complex, mature and entertaining. Quite how she manages to weave innumerable plot strands together so perfectly and manage always to bring them together in a surprising and satisfying conclusion is beyond me. I am truly in awe of this writer's talent.

Summary: great book
Review: Another great book! I cant decide if its better then 3 or 4 yet, but i do know its really good! Harry has become an actual teenager acting like it. I really enjoyed seeing him in a bad mood for some reason. Probaly because i had been waiting for him to act like a little bit more a of a realistic kid since book 1. Great, although i was disapointed at how little Dumbledore and Hagrid were in it.

Summary: Mediocre at best
Review: First I would like to note that i thoroughly enjoyed the first four Harry Potter novels.

The new Harry Potter installment was far too long and drawn out . I felt like the book could have been written in 500 pages easily and have been more enjoyable. Entire chapters that are very trivial and usually disconnected from the story are scattered often throughout the book. The only thing in the first 700 pages of the book connecting to the anti-climactic conclusion was a recurring dream of Harry's. I never felt surprised in the novel and the character death had little effect on me. Also Harry's attitude throughout nearly the entire book is that of a whining, slef-pitying brat, which gets very annoying and impossible to enjoy the book.

Summary: Best Book ever!!![.]
Review: I have just finished reading the harry potter book series "the order of the pheonix". i did not put the book down since i started. Throughout the book i had my fists clenched for the excitement and suspense. In my opinion the order of the pheonix is the best of the harry potter series. Its darker and scarier than all the others and i held my breath to the wnd. Twists all the way through, changes in the plot. Must i say the plot was extremely well written and easily readable.

The order of the pheonix is a great book!!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Review: Absolutely the best book in the series. I couldn't put it down for a second. Surprising twists and turns, and a lot of character evolution. Absolutely amazing.

Summary: Kinda diappointing and boring, until the middle
Review: This Book was definately NOT the best book in the series. While J.K. Rowling's style of writing has improved, this plot needs a little help.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has the same plot of Harry getting away from the Durselys before the end of vacation and then going to hogwarts. There wasn't really anything new until about halfway.
The Order of the Phoenix is a "rebel" group that is trying to warn the world about U-know-who's return. And that's where Harry stays until the beginning of hogwarts. I was REALLY, REALLY glad that Remus Lupin, my fav character and lovable werewolf, is back.
The minstry of magic slowly begins to take over the school with the help of the overly-annoying Dolores Umbridge.
Only until about page 500 when Harry starts to see visions in his sleep does the book get interesting. I think that was where the book grabbed and held me. Before that there REALLY isn't anything new--Harry is misunderstood, blah, blah, blah. Normally Rowling has a plot going in about the 150th page; trust me--not in this one!!!!!!!!!!!
after you get past the extremely boring beginning--it gets EXTREMELY INTERSTING!!!!
Questions start to form.
The Ending REALLY upset me--but I won't tell you, cuz I don't want to spoil it! But it's not cool!!!!!!!!! i cried!
I loved the chapter where Harry sees his father, Lupin, sirius, and Wormtail during their O.W.L.S(which is a standard test for all fifth years). This was the best chapter because you find out that Lily HATES James, and now I'm dying to know how they fell in love!
in the end, this book was very hyped up, and if you are a true HP fan, and weren't caught up in the hype--you'll be disappointed until about the middle--where it FINALLY gets good! The hype basically comes from the fact that we thought we were going to learn some BIG secret! We didn't! You learn a phophecy about harry and u-know-who, which is kinda interesting. But the big secret we learn is very, very obvious, if you just figured it out! It's the reason why Dumbledore gave Harry to the dursleys--sorry to spoil it, but it's the fact that at Privet Dr. is the only place he is safe! (cuz of his Aunt--who was his mom's sister)
The best book in the series IS the 3rd one!

Summary: I wasn't disappointed
Review: Despite it's 800+ word length, I wasn't disappointed in the 5th book of the incomparable Harry Potter series. The beginning started a little shaky, and I was afraid that the book would be padded with insipid dialogue or formula plotting. Boy was I wrong! Shortly after Harry appears before the Ministry of Magic the novel takes off. Since all of the books are cut of the same cloth, I can't say it was better or worse than earlier works. I can just say it was terrific, funny, moving, tender, wise and all of those wonderful qualities that make me appreciate the gift we have in J.K. Rowling. I loved it so much, I didn't want it to end, and when it ended, I felt impatient for book #6 to come out. Harry Potter has done more for literacy than phonics; more for hope that the Red Cross, and more for joy than Christmas. Sigh. I love Harry.

Summary: Still the best books I've ever read!
Review: I only started reading the Harry Potter books a couple of years ago and I have to admit that I am hooked! Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix did not turn out to be a big let down! The story was very interesting and manages to keep you glued to the book! I couldn't put it down! Somehow she got me to feel the emotions of the characters and that is very rare! I can't wait for the next book to come out!

Summary: Rowling does it again!
Review: Just finished the book this morning. Though the atmosphere is heavier and darker this time around, it is still a captivating and thoroughly engrossing read.

Harry has grown since the last book and shows the typical signs of an adolescent - cranky, touchy and confused. Somehow he has managed to make many enemies in high places and his future looks grim. Once faithful friends and allies are treating him differently. Something big is going on and Harry has been deliberately left out of the loop. But why?

We are introduced to intriguing new characters, allowed fascinating insights into Professors Dumbledore and Snape, and learn how the point system works at Hogshead Academy. Just when you think that there simply cannot be anymore to the story the author surprises you with yet another revelation. Hagrid has mysteriously failed to show up for the new term and the students are forced to learn at an academy that has been invaded by unfriendly forces. Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters are gaining and somehow Harry has to save himself and those dearest to him, but at what cost?

There are excellent lessons to be learned from these books and the 'bad rap' that this series has received from the conservative Christian movement is grotesquely misplaced. Suggestion: Read the book first, then pass judgement.

The pages flew by much too fast and it was with a heavy heart that I read the last lines. J.K. Rowling's imagination is simply delicious, her ability to capture real characters masterful and as a story-teller she shines.

Summary: Harry Potter and the terribly long school year
Review: The fifth installment of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series is an immense work in its own right, disreguarding the fact it is a book primarily marketed towards children. At over 800 pages, its is the most involved and dramatically important book of the series.

The drastic temperment change of Harry is about time. He goes from being a good natured kid, to being a sullen teen, with all the anxieties and emotional blow-ups that are expected for a young man his age. Other charchters seem to come into thiere own right as whole complete people, not just as window dressing for Harry to have his adventures with.

Harry's year at Hogwarts is like none other, with a deranged D.A.D.A teacher, upheaval on the Quidditch team, and on top of that he has to deal with terrifying nighmares.

The struggle in the book goes from those trying to hold Voldemort at bay, and the Voldemort supporters in Goblet of Fire, to the Order of the phoenix fighting with the Ministry of Magic, along with Voldemort and his death eaters. The triangular relationship of the groups creates the most unstable of relationships, pushing some to do unspeakable things in the name of doing what's right.
