Summary: Harry's All Growin' Up
Review: The fifth book of the long-waited Harry is here, and I still like book two and four best. Harry, Ron and Hermione do come through with great advernture and fun and make for a fabulous fifth book.
It is fifth year and the pressures lay heavily on our famous trio to make good in their OWLs and the secret society we hear about within the first four chapters. (I don't want to ruin any surprises for those not yet read it). Harry, kept well away from any plans over the summer, soon realizes that the wizarding world is having serious problems. Dementors are back and as we know from book four, so is You-Know-Who. I was surprised in how Rowling first placed the Dementors in the book, a definite twist.
Harry, Ron and Hermione all into adventure immediatly leading us to evils, new friends, wonderings and of course, a New Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. The new teacher is not accepted by anybody, not even the teachers which puts strain on all of Hogwarts. And, poor Dumbledore is beside himself since the Ministry goes out of its way to believe him or anybody else.
Harry is also starting to grow up and act more like a teenager. Moodiness, emotional growth and more defiance against authority. Plus, poor Harry Potter has to take extra classes; and with Snape, at that. We are also re-introduced to (new) characters and old ones garner more attention and admiration from readers. At least Neville Longbottom got more admiration from me.
A great read leaving you for the outcomes of OWLs and more adventure from our favourite trio.

Summary: Wonderful magical Harry
Review: A devoted Harry Potter fun that I am, I had high hopes for this book. I was not disappointed. J.K. Rowling wrote a wonderfuly magical book, full of new creatures and wizards, touching and sensitive, (with insight into adolecence),complex and super-intresting. 36 years old and mother of 2 that I am, I found myself hiding behind a cabinet in atempt to finish reading the book with no disturbances. Well done and thank you for a great time. Please don't make us wait another 3 years for the 6th book.

Summary: THE BEST YET
Review: NO QUESTION THIS IS THE BEST HARRY POTTER YET. J. K. Rowling tops herself again with this monsterous book that will have you wishing there was more. I can't believe people are saying it's too long, because it's not. Ever page is full of fasinating details that will keep you glued to the book until you've finished it.

Summary: THE BEST YET
Review: NO QUESTION, THIS IS THE BEST HARRY POTTER BOOK YET, all 870 pages were worth reading. The book continually keeps the reader on the edge of their seat as they have a blast reading the fifth installement in the series. If you have loved the previous Harry Potter books, then you will love this one.

Summary: My Favorite So Far
Review: I've been critical of the other books, rating them good to mediocre. This one really did a fine job of giving depth to some of the characters, one of my major complaints in the previous books (I'd still like to see Malfoy given more depth, but Snape certainly was, as was young Potter himself).
All in all, it was enjoyable and difficult to put down.

Summary: Where's book 6?
Review: The only complaint I have with this book is Harry's attitude. Way to angry at times that it seemed almost unreal. However, he does act like a troubled 15 year old. I feel sorry for him sometimes but other times he is just acting a little spoiled.

I didn't like the whole Cho bit but I think it taught Harry a good lesson...that even though the girl is pretty, it doesn't necessarily make her out to be the best person for you. I much enjoyed the exchange between him and Ginny, seeing how she keeps him in line when his closer friends fail to speak up. I see potential in this pairing, and if not, a strong friendship.

I am absolutely in love with Neville and Hermione. Their characters were strong and are an inspiration for those who spend their whole lives trying to be the best in school, or if they're not so great in class. Just because someone is extremely smart or a little behind, doesn't make them someone you can't appreciate.

This story to me was not as dark as the fourth one (being the darkest of the first four books). The only reason why HP is geared more toward older children, and in book 5's case, is because of the content (i.e. relationships and so on). Harry is 15 after all and relationships is one aspect that teenagers discover during their teen years. I'm just glad that his first experience at having a date was a message that not everything is going to be fine and dandy.

Above all, a great read. I read it the three days after it came out and still can't stop talking about it! Pretty much all I can say is...where is book 6?

Summary: This is absolutely the best book in the series!
Review: J.K. Rowling most definetly knew how to keep a persons attention in this book! All of these pages were all worthwhile and with some amazing twists as far as why Voldemort tried to kill Harry because of a prophecy! This snaps a sudden interest into the reader and makes you want more of the series and keeps you hoping for the release of the 6th book! This book shows you how connected Voldemort and Harry are and how much the magical world is changing under the weight of Voldemort! A must read for all people! I read it in 5 days and could barely put it down. I advise you all to give it a chance, there is never a dull moment in this wonderful book and explains alot! An absolutely inthrilling book!

Review: As a huge fan of the Harry Potter series, I can only say, what a a disappointment. I never want to go near this book again. Everything about it is just awful. Its hard to believe Rowling wrote it.

Summary: Great book!!
Review: After reading all of the other books, I was expecting this to be a book for me to read. It was an easy task for me to finish it, as I read the 734 page #4 in 3 days. This one should have been easy to read, and it was, in some ways. It took me 8 hours to read, but there were some things that I may need to go back to and take a good look at them. It was a basic cliffhanger story, and I wish I had left it until a week or two before the 6th book, but I couldn't resist it. It was like a magnet!! Overall it was a great book, with the types of twists and turns in the plot that makes it a great read for anyone, child or adult!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not for very young readers
Review: There's enough other reviews on the merits of this book -- (It is excellent and left me wishing book 6 would be out real soon).

The one thing I really want to say is that Amazon really shouldn't list it as being for 9 to 12 year olds. It would be better to recommend it for 13 and older. Harry is growing up, he's 15 in this story, and the problems and situations he has to deal with are going of more interest to teens (and adults like me!) than they are for younger kids.
