Summary: Thrilling but Disappointing (The Series Goes Mad)
Review: The problem with the fifth Harry Potter book is that it is both thrilling and disappointing. Thrilling in that it provided a great ride, but disappointing in that it failed to live up to realistic expectations. There was plenty of action, drama, and twists and turns to keep you hooked. However, the problems of a bit too much acting out of character for some protagonists and a dragging pace determined not to tell the reader anything began to hamper the story. And, most importantly, the main problem lies in the fact that we are left at essentially the same place as we were after the fourth book, save a prophecy or two. But, still, recommended for fans of Harry Potter and good books who will encounter an enjoyable read.:)

Summary: Harry Potter #5 : Was it Worth What We Waited For?
Review: After finishing Harry Potter #5, I had to ask myself, "Was this book worth waiting three years for?" Yes, I have to say it was. This was a very good sequel to the fourth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, though I think I liked the Goblet of Fire better.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix was an excellent book by all means, but I found the plot very repetitive and to much like the 4 other books. Basically, the Harry Potter-conquers-his-fears-and-defeats-the-bad-guy-while-saving-his-friends-and-making-himself-have-a-better-reputation-than-before plot was carried into this novel with some changes. I have to admit, I was completely taken aback with what happened to Sirius and the book more than once made me gasp out loud in public.
The one thing I really wanted to see Harry do in this book was to get a girlfriend. My hopes were satisfied for a little while when he was going out with Cho, but was disappointed when it just didn't work out between them.
Even though the plot was fairly repetitive and slightly predictable, I was completely magnetized to Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix for nearly the whole book. It was really excellently written!

Summary: It's not just for 9-12 year olds!!!
Review: This book is not just for the 9-12 year olds!! This book is wonderful for everyone. I started reading Harry Potter for a friend who could not "get into" the story and now I am hooked. The stories, all the stories, keep your mind going, you do not want to stop reading. I have already read "The Order of the Phoenix" twice through and I am listening to the book on tape in the van with my three sons, 8, 6, and 3. Look Moms and Dads if you start reading the stories you will now have something to talk to your children at the dinner table or on the way to some practice or another. It is a way to communicate to your children!!! Who knows, you might find out something fun and exciting about your child you did not know. I dare you to pick up Harry Potter...you won't regret it!!

Summary: Wow!
Review: I think this was a wonderful book. As many other people said in the book is diffrent than all the others. It Is my favorite Harry Potter book so far. It has many wierd twists... you can tell J.K Rowling put extra effort in this book. I couldn't put it down. I have no idea why people have rated it 2,3,or 4 stars. So buy this book!!!

Summary: Not bad, but could have been better (non-spoiler)
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the book till about the last 4 or 5 chapters. I thought the beginning was well-written and left a lot of room for sub-plot expansion and development that would have made the over-all plot much more interesting. The ending, however, didn't live up to the beginning, leaving a lot of questions unanswered or with very disappointing resolutions. The death scene came across as needless and (to be honest)..., almost like it was thrown in as an afterthought instead of intending to be meaningful like in the 4th book. Over all, the ending was disappointing, instead of expanding the current plot, it seemed to reinterate what the previous 4 books have already established. It seemed like Rowlings was rushed when writing those last few chapters, though I wouldn't have minded waiting longer for a more complete book.

By all means, not bad and overall enjoyable, but clearly not the best out of the series.

Summary: I loved it.... but not as much as 'Goblet of Fire'
Review: I would recommend this book, it was great! Some readers
found it too long, on the contrary, I like it being long
so I have more to read! This book is my second favorite
of the series, most favorite being 'Goblet of Fire'.
Our family bought two copies to avoid civil war over who gets
to read first! I would rate it 4 1/2 stars.

Summary: Very good but a different Harry
Review: I enjoyed the book very much. However, I did finish with a few questions and feel the book wasn't wrapped up quite as cleanly as I would have liked. My questions are since nobody believes Harry about just about everything why don't they teach him the spell that allows Harry to put his memory into the spincher? And, why did Harry not torment himself after he figured out that he could have communicated with Sirius through the two way mirror? We usually always read what he is thinking, why not that time? I also didn't like the fact that Dumbledore lied for Harry, it could have caused more serious problems by lying for Harry. Loved the battle between Tom and Dumbledore and enjoyed the humor in "that should show you" fashion. Overall a dark book, with Harry acting like his hormones are driving him crazy.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Review: I really enjoyed the book and can't wait for the next one! It was full familiar and new characters. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Summary: What is Wrong With Some People... this book was great
Review: I am not trying to be offensive at all, but many people are saying this book is too dark for a Harry Potter book, and it was the downfall to the series. This was the same thing that happened with George Lucas's STAR WARS. In THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, luke goes through emotions and feelings that bring out a darker side of the character, and he must overcome his emotions. A lot of kids and people hated this new Luke, but then when he became good again in RETURN OF THE JEDI, everyone now says EMPIRE was the best in the series. Harry Potter is not really a kid's book, it is a character break-down, a school story, and an epic, like STAR WARS. There are many plot twists, and subplots that happen in the story, and I understand all of Harry's emotions because I am a fifthteen year old boy, and how an adult female writter can know how a 15 year old boy feels to such detail amazes me. I thorougly liked the entire book, and I like it when stories get darker, I mean, it makes the characters and their interactions with the enviornments so much more interesting.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix is my favorite for the detailed character study, but my all-time favorite was Harry Potter- And The Goblet of Fire. Think about it people, why would Harry act like how he acts in PHEONIX, everyone at school treats him like dirt, would you be happy and cheerful? No. But at the end of the book, Harry does lighten up.
JK Rowling did a fantastic job with this one, and she has great characters. And for all those who want the books edited down, remember they are not neccesarily for little kids, and JK is not writing the books for your liking either, she has the story planned out, it is a brilliant work of art, and just because Harry was an innocent 11 year old in the first one, doesn't mean he can't grow up.
