Summary: Weaker writing, but great story.
Review: At nearly 900 pages, the textbook-sized fifth installment of the Harry Potter series offers readers a lengthy and sometimes too-drawn-out plot. I enjoyed the story, moreso than those of Books 2 and 4, but J.K. Rowling's writing seems to have taken a turn for the worse with this latest. She overuses ellipses (...) and Harry seems to be perpetually irritated, often without reason or provocation, which just served to irritate ME while I read. I simply didn't like the new writing style she picked up in this one. It detracted from the overall quality of the book, and made it more difficult to get through. Contrary to what another user review said, I liked the new magical creatures introduced into this book and was kept especially interested because the entire book had such dark overtones and answered many lingering questions that came at the end of Goblet of Fire. Basically, if you've already read the first books in the series, you'll have to read this one. Even if it doesn't quite meet what I had built up in my mind, writing-wise, its new characters, creatures and mysteries will leave you satisfied with where the story is headed.

Summary: i didnt really like the book
Review: it's not my favorite hp book, i really didn't like it. Harry's mood is completly different, and he's starting to get the feeling of "why me?", you know. It has it's (the book) good times and plenty of bad. After reading the book i felt as though i just went in circles and learned nothing new, that i didn't know was going to happen in future books. But i did like the new charactors and the death was sad. But I think just to clear up some stuff in my head after reading it, i think i should read it again.

Summary: A little darker that the others, but still a great read!
Review: This book struck me as being much darker than the others. However...we were warned about that. Harry is growing up and "enjoying" the growing pains that most of us still remember. I was saddened by the loss of a great character, but glad to learn a little more of the history of Harry, his family and his future. I look forward to the next book...

Summary: Harry Potter the everlasting great Hero!
Review: I love the way the book basically sucks you into the story within every word. J.K Rowling does a fantastic job with descriptions and details. I love how the book takes you back into the past and gives you the thrill and excitment in the adventure as if you were there living it! THis book I think gives a whole new side to Harry as he gets older. It's fun reading the book because it's written with such emotion you don't ever want to put it down. The Order of the Pheonix is definetly my favorite book.

Summary: Another Great Read
Review: Unlike some people, I couldn't sit down and read this monster book in one sitting, but only because I had the urge to eat and sleep... and yeah, go to work a few times. I was totally captivated by OotP. Rowlings managed to make new characters that we loved, and ones that we really hated. Cheers to that!

Summary: a breath taking book, with ups and downs
Review: this book was really a breath taker. it got groosome at the end, but thats what makes harry potter harry potter. the only things i did not like where, how harry's temper shot up at anything and he had no controle of it. I also did not enjoy the way Rowling made cho chang act. she acted very bitchy, annoying, and she was a flat down cry baby. she cried about cedric all the time infront of harry, while harry was trying to forget the horrible sceene he had seen during the tri wizard tournament. the rest of the book, i LOVED! JK Rowling did the right thing to put professor Umbridge in the book. it gave the book more taste. this book was one of the best of the harry potter series. the books just get better and better every hogwarts year!!!

Summary: Another Great Addition to the Harry Potter Series
Review: Having read the previous four Harry Potter books, I can say that this is the best one yet. Yes, it is the longest of J.K. Rowling's books, but I could not put it down once I started reading it. HP and the Order of the Phoenix also delves deeper into Harry's personality -- his angst in trying to figure out who he is, what sort of person his father really was, what do his dreams mean. I could say more, but I would give the plot away.

Summary: The best Harry Potter book yet!
Review: This is the best Harry Potter book yet. Each and every one of its 870 pages kept my nose in the book for hours on end (I know, it's a long book, but I read it in seven days; I couldn't tear my eyes away.). This book has it all: suspense, action, friendship, irony, many unexpected plot twists, and even a little romance.

Summary: Searching for clues
Review: The newest installemnt of the Harry Potter series though quite good was not what I had hoped for. Somethings that I thought would be revealed like stuff about Lily and why green eyes are important never appeared. Or could it have? J.K. Rowling has a way of leaving the smallest clues behind and then after you've read something and you go back to the earlier books you realized that she has been alluding to it the entire time, you just never noticed. [...]

I personally can't wait for number six so that I can see what were clues and what weren't.

Summary: Harry Potter is Back!
Review: One thing to say: J.K. Rowling is a great writer. She includes vivid details and all of her stories are put together very well. This book was great, but it was my least favorite in the series. The whole time, Harry was in a bad mood, and yelling at his friends. Nothing exciting happened in the first two hundred pages, and when something did happen, it was sort of forgotten eventually. The book was still in my top ten, and I still have to give J.K. Rowling a ton of credit for writing these wonderful books.
